The pictures do not do this place justice! :) Absolutely beautiful place as well as surrounding scenery! We will definitely be using this location again.
A peaceful retreat.
This is a quiet and beautiful property. It is in the valley of the Watauga River where most likely there once was a farm. There are other nice homes nearby but all are on large pieces of land and we rarely saw other people. The exception was the occasional fisherman wading in the river fly fishing. Just watching a fisherman catching a trout is indeed a peaceful past time as is sitting on the graciously large covered porch gazing at a number of gorgeous vistas. In addition, watching the deer graze in the pasture in the evenings adds to the tranquility of this beautiful place.
The home's interior decor is rustic and quite comfortable. The kitchen was open to the living area and fun to both cook and eat in.
The property is within a half hours drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway with abundant hiking.
A word to the wise: make dinner reservations several days ahead for the better restaurants.
We truly enjoyed this property both indoors and out and the property manager and owner were very responsive to our needs.
Beautiful Mountain Cabin
House and grounds beautiful - as always. Grill was out of gas so we were unable to grill out as planned. Had trouble getting to house because of the flooding, but was thrilled when I got there. Always forget to bring soap and shampoo and it is a long way back to the store. Love the porch!
Cozy Mountain Home
The home is beautiful and nicely furnished and equipped with everything you would need. It was so cozy and welcoming we really enjoyed it. However, we spent most of our time on the massive porch that extends on three sides of the home as well as on the beautifully maintained grounds. What an enjoyable weekend!
Perfect! We love the house especially the outdoor area!
Great! Will come back again!
Excellent spot on the river!
Wonderful spot to relax. Had everything we could have wanted. Even though there were houses close by, it felt very secluded! Loved the rustic touches! We most certainly will be back!
