Enter on the main floor to a fully stocked kitchen, dining table, living room with SmartTV, gas fireplace, a full bathroom (shower) and access to your HUGE double decks (600+ SF!). Behind a door is your master bedroom with a queen bed.

The spiral staircase brings you upstairs to a loft bedroom overlooking the living room below with 2 hanging chairs and a queen pullout couch (it is a really, really nice pullout).

Downstairs is an open layout king bedroom/living area, full bathroom (shower/tub). Play on your own sit-down gaming console (12 games like Street Fighter, 1944, etc), SmartTV, board games and access to an outdoor swing under the deck. WiFi throughout.

Easily walk down to the river for top trophy trout fishing or just to spend time in the river. Spennd evenings at your private fire pit under the stars. You will be so close to everything "High Country" you will quickly learn why Valle Crucis is such a special “best kept secret” place!

We built our cabin to be a top area vacation rental while catering to the discerning, affluent, vacationing couple or small family. Quality construction. Well-designed. Architectural details. Minimal steps. Easy access to the river. Easy access year-round (state-maintained roads, limited elevation changes from town). And well-supplied. All done so by a multi-year "Super Host."

On the river, minutes to downtown Valle Crucis (in between Boone and Banner Elk), the setting and location could not be better.

We are truly excited to share Moon River with our guests and look forward to welcoming you each year. Let our vacation home become your second home (without the hassle of home ownership).

PETS: We tend to allow one pup under 50 pounds for a $50-75 fee. Anything more than this, please simply inquire!

The property was clean, and the check-in process was easy. The cabin offered all the amenities we needed. We did not use the hot tub (we preferred the river since it was the dog days of summer), but it looked clean and well-kept. The property offered stunning river views from the comfortable porch. Our dog enjoyed playing in the fields and the river. We saw deer each morning just after sunrise. Our only recommendations would be window coverings for the kitchen (we taped up some trash bags for privacy). We loved it and will come back again!

This was the most relaxing week at this wonderful cabin. The hot tub was amazing, the fishing was so fun, sitting outside on the porch was relaxing and we rested so well. Lots of space to play ball with our dog. Close to great restaurants and grocery stores. We are coming back in August to stay in the lower cabin at Moon River. The host was so accommodating. Thank you for a wonderful week!!

A lovely getaway!

Super cute, clean little house! Perfect for a small family and pet friendly, conveniently close to Mast General Store, Grandfather Vineyard and downtown Boone. Some of our favorite spots. We really enjoyed our stay!

We had a wonderful day for Thanksgiving! I especially appreciated being able to bring my dog. Everything was well equipped. My only concern was that there were steps to navigate to get into the home.

A Quaint Get Away

This little house is in a great location, 15-30 minutes to several hiking, activity, park, and dining locations. The cabin is well stocked and the beds are comfortable. Everything was very clean. The porch doubles the living space and offers nice views of the river and field below. Exploring the property was fun! Our kids loved the game area in the basement bedroom, and the loft. It is a small house. For our group of 6, (4 adults/2 kids), there isn’t a lot of sitting space inside to be together, and no table large enough, so our meals were spread out. We loved being able to take our 1 year old pup. The porch has gates, which made it feel safer to let him outside a bit. The cabin is near a busy road, so we didn’t feel comfortable letting him off leash.

We had such a wonderful stay here at this beautiful piece of property and would love to return! It's a small place but perfect for our family of three (plus the dog). The house was well-equipped and very clean. Communication with April was easy! Five stars all around!

Such A Beautiful Place

This house is exactly like the pictures. It’s very clean and everything was great! We were a short drive away from everything we needed. We will absolutely look into staying here again!
