Completely Private, Highly Upgraded Unit, Minutes to Energy Centers of San Diego

Located in a Historic District on the Slope above Downtown San Diego, this beautiful Queen Ann Victorian accommodates up to 6 guests. This unit is completely private with a separate entry, living space, 2 bedrooms, bathroom, living area and full size kitchen. No expense was spared in the design of this highly upgraded unit which features views of the Ocean, Coronado Bridge and the islands off the coast from the property's front porch. No expense was spared in the layout and design of this unit which is modern classic. The living area features a full size leather pull-out sofa bed, large LED smart TV, dining table and chairs and ceiling fan. The kitchen is beautifully upgraded complete with everything you will need to cook your own meals during your stay with us. The bathroom is brand new, separate from the bedrooms and equipped with plenty of plush towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a blow dryer. There are Queen size beds in each of 2 separate bedrooms. Both Queen beds have memory foam mattresses which are very comfortable. Each bedroom also has a ceiling fan, in-wall air conditioner and a high definition LED smart TV with cable access and streaming capability. All 3 televisions have Netflix access which is provided free to our Guests. Our property is located 5 minutes driving distance to the Convention Center, Gas Lamp district, Ball Park, Coronado Island, the Airport, Balboa Park and the Zoo. Freeway access is located around the corner and bus stop transits to and from downtown can be found within a block. All local beaches are within easy driving distance of the property. Some of Golden Hill’s most popular spots such as the Turf Club, Panchitas Bakery, Krakatoa Coffee Shop, Luigi's Pizza and Golden Hill Park are all within easy walking distance. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee and Coronado Bay Bridge views from the patio table and chairs provided on the front porch. There is an on-site laundry so check for coins, laundry detergent and fabric softener tissues we provide in the unit as a complimentary gift and our way of saying thank you. Instant Booking - This unit has a Queen size bed in each of 2 separate bedrooms. Both beds have memory foam mattresses. There is additionally a Full size pull out sofa bed in the living area. While this unit is designed to accommodate 6 Guests, it could be a bit challenging if they are all adults. We want to be sure this arrangement will be comfortably accommodate your group.

About John Reardon

I grew up in Northampton Massachusetts, a town with countless beautiful old homes and lots of woods. I spent countless days in my youth building tree forts never knowing that those 2 dynamics would intersect at this point. Upon arriving in San Diego with an interest in building and purchasing real estate, I became immediately interested in the largely neglected Victorian buildings in this area of town. This property became a labor of love for me many years ago and I hope that legacy will be carried forward by my 3 sons. My wife if Japanese, so our family often divides our time between 2 very different worlds, both with much to offer.

Notes:
This is a multi-unit Victorian with completely private and self contained units similar to condominiums. We will be installing a gazebo with table in chairs and lights as well as a fire pit in the rear yard. As that is a work in progress, we have reduced the reservation price to reflect that reality in an effort to be fair to our guests. There are no noise issues affecting our Guests due ongoing upgrades.

If ever in San Diego I would definitely stay again. Easy to get around and the owner was very thorough in his communication for check in, check out etc.

Felt just like home.

Owner's Response: We have known the neighbors for many years and they are wonderful people, but for some reason they will not paint their house. There is even a program available in San Diego that will do it for free which I provided the paper work for, but they did not follow through.

Cute house, very clean, fully stocked, owner was very accommodating and checked in frequently

The house was perfect for our stay. The parking was not a problem. However in four days we never actually got a parking spot on the street in which the house is located, but we never had to walk more than a block, so it wasn't a problem. The house had everything we needed so we didn't have to spend the beginning of our vacation shopping for goecery bags and paper towels. The house was incredibly clean, and there were plenty of linens/towels. The area of town seemed like a decent area of San Diego, but I didn't feel comfortable walking a block to car after dark to get my child's game he left in the car (I think I'm just not used to city life). We had a great time and would highly recommend the USS Midway museum and the San Diego zoo. We also loved Phil's bbq, it's about a 15 minute drive, but worth it! Side note, this is a property that is shared with other home owners, so the porch area is community, so it was little uncomfortable showing up with suitcases and having a porch full of a bunch of men playing poker for hours. Turned out everyone was friendly, but it was a little awkward feeling like you were walking into someone else's house. However, this would not stop me from recommending this place. It was really a great place...clean, good location, and friendly and hospitable owner.

Perfect Family Rental

My husband, two sons (ages 10 and 12) and myself recently stayed in unit 3 and absolutely loved it. It was the perfect amount of space for us. The unit has been so nicely redone. It was clean and comfortable. John is super proactive and has thought of everything to make the rental process easy. Parking was never an issue for us. We always found parking right out front or just around the corner. We also felt safe in the area, no issues. It was an easy walk downtown. This was the best vacation rental experience we've ever had, and we would definitely rent from John again!

Great home in a perfect location

We had a great time in San Diego and this property was perfect for what we needed. 5 minutes to downtown and 10 minutes to the beaches. Parking on the street was never an issue and the surrounding area is very laid back.

Clean, very small, off a busy street.

The unit was clean and supplied with all the basic necessities, towels, bedding, silverware, plates, cups, bowls, a large pot, large skillet, etc.

Although we always managed to find parking not too far away it did require making a block or two before deciding if we would be able to fit our SUV in a spot. The street it was off was busier than I expected which was nerve wracking at times with small children.

John made himself readily available and checked in on us during our stay. When upon checking out and leaving town we realized we forgot all our jackets hanging by the door. John was kind enough to ship them quickly home for us!

It was a great stay and we would definitely stay again if we have the opportunity!
