OCEAN VIEW APARTMENT ART STUDIOS, HOLETOWN

Just paces from the beach and a short walk from some of the fabulous facilities of the Platinum Coast, everything you need is on your doorstep at the Art Studios.

The apartments are adjacent to the luxury boutique Sandpiper Hotel.

Whether it's swimming in the warm Caribbean sea, relaxing in the tropical gardens, dining at one of the renowned nearby restaurants or a spot of shopping, nothing is more than a short walk away. If you just want to do your own thing, the apartment has a well-equipped kitchen and there are plenty of shops nearby ranging from simple but delicious street food stalls to the luxury Limegrove shopping centre. If you do want to venture further afield, there's a bus stop within a minute's walk (the fare is a fixed BDS $3.75 for all journeys). There is also on-site parking if you prefer to explore with your own car.

Other nearby facilities include tennis, world-class golf and, of course, water sports. For snorkellers or divers, Folkestone Marine Park is just a few hundred metres away.

The apartment is on two levels and has a well-equipped kitchen with cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, blender, coffee machine, crockery, cookware and utensils. The bedroom has an American King size bed (6’ 6” x 6’ 6”) and air conditioning. There's also an en-suite with a large fully-tiled shower, sink and WC. The balcony has two comfortable sun lounger’s and an outside dining table and chairs making it a relaxing place to enjoy the sounds and sights of the tropical gardens. Large fans in the bedroom and all around the apartment keep you cool and all internal doors and windows are fitted with mosquito screens. There is free WIFI access. All bedding and towels (including beach towels) are provided and there's a daily maid service (5 days/wk). There is also a safe, an ironing board, iron and hairdryer.

Please note that construction work is taking place at the neighbouring Royalton Hotel with an estimated completion date of late spring / early summer 2026.

About the Owners

The apartment is family owned and run. We have been frequent visitors to Barbados for the last 15 years and have always loved the fabulous location of the Art Studios - there aren't many places on the Platinum Coast where you can enjoy the simple Caribbean life and still have everything you want right on your doorstep. We aim to give our guests the best possible experience and are always happy to answer any questions. We know you'll enjoy staying at the Art Studios - we always do!

Beautiful apartment

What a fabulous apartment right by the sea. The owners were so helpful, and had excellent communication. The apartment was spotless. They even had a cleaner in most days, and changed the bed sheets and towels every couple of days, which was very helpful. The apartment was very well stocked with everything you would need, even down to beach beds, umberellas, dvd's, books etc. It was a real home from home experience.it was also very close to the middle of Holetown, and on the bus route for anywhere you wanted to travel. Thank you both for a lovely time. Very much appreciated.

Lovely 3 week stay

This was our 5th stay at Art Studios. The things that bring us back are fabulous location steps from the sea, wonderful staff that take care of everything needed and the sense of community with the people that stay here. We had a fabulous stay.

Cute, Affordable, and Well-Located!

This wonderful little property is a hidden gem on the platinum west coast of Barbados. The unit has a large upstairs balcony with gives you 'just enough' beach view while still being quiet and private. Also occupying the upstairs is the kitchen,which provides flexibility for longer stays or those who enjoy preparing their own meals. The bottom floor has large bed and bathroom w/shower. The unit is well-decorated and I arrived to find it very clean, courtesy of the on-site staff (Thanks Tonya, Meschell and Michael!). There is no air conditioning, but sleep was okay as long as the fans were running. The shower's hot water is solar heated which was sufficient on sunny days, but as I arrived during a particularly rainy weekend, I was glad to see they had an aux. water heater. Some things you'll love about Art Studios? - Easy to find right off the main road running through Holetown, everyone knew where it was if I needed a taxi. - just a 5 min walk to Limegrove Center, which is full of shopping and dining choices (and a Saturday Market). 10 min walk from Art Studio gets you to the Supermarket, gas station and countless well-reviewed restaurants. - The beach in front lies between some larger resorts and did not seem as busy as those just up or down the coast. There is a trailer with tables, drinks, food and lounger rentals called Pepperjacks that I would absolutely recommend! - A national marine park is right next door so you can pay to access that protected natural reef, or Pepperjacks can arrange a fun, 2hr snorkle with turtles and a shipwreck. - On-site staff were very helpful!! Some things to consider about Art Studios: - The units are not designed for people with mobility issues & if I was traveling with young children, I would look elsewhere. The stairs of the unit are smooth stained wood and you must use them carefully, especially with socks on. The access road to Art Studios can also get quite muddy when it rains all day. - The building is probably half a century old or older, so no A/C, just a tiny tv for DVDs, and a short supply of hot water. If you need all the amenities of a nice hotel, then staying here will require a small compromise. - The local mosquitos are smart and determined, and I was VERY thankful the hosts provided citronella candles to better enjoy the balcony. Bug spray is recommended if spending significant time on the balcony. Den and Gloria were great hosts and I would absolutely stay again at Art Studios! Thanks!

Loved it!

Property setting is lovely. Apt is adorable. Love the upstairs kitchen, light, spacious and airy. Outside terrace was a lovely place to sit outside early in the mornings, and work from home in a great location with a view of the water. And yes, the location was just steps to the beach, as well as a short walk to local restaurants and shops. Loved the location. There was only one problem, and that was that my stay was way too short! Definately want to go back and stay longer.

THE place to stay in Holetown

We stayed at Apt 14 for New Year. It was exactly as described with a cosy and homely feel and all amenities, including a large supermarket, were within a five minute walk. Exceptionally clean with amazing views of the sea from the terrace - great for watching the sun go down. And yes, you really are a few footsteps away from the beach. Heavenly for a quick dip to cool down! It was also a great place to watch the fireworks from the nearby hotel complexes. It's a really friendly complex and Meschel, Tonya and Michael are all friendly, professional and obviously take a great deal of pride keeping the complex and gardens so immaculate. We had fly catchers and sparrows and doves visiting us daily and humming birds, mongoose and fireflies were a regular sight. We even saw monkeys 😊 If you want an independent stay in Holetown with opportunity to put money into the local community rather than faceless hotel companies, you'd be hard pressed to beat Apt 14. It's certainly large enough for two people and when the weather was too hot, we moved the portable fan to the terrace and with the ceiling fan as well these were enough to allow us to people watch, watch the sea and wildlife in comfort. We're already saving our pennies to go back.

Sehr schönes Apartment in sehr gepflegter, ruhiger Anlage

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit der Wahl dieses doppelstöckigen Apartments, was sich auch durch den direkten Meerblick vom Balkon von anderen abhebt. Das Schlafzimmer im Erdgeschoss wurde durch diese Bauweise und die Ventilatoren auch sehr gut durchlüftet und man konnte gut schlafen. Alle Fenster haben Mückennetze. Das zusätzliche Mückennetz über dem Bett wurde nicht benötigt. Ansonsten ist eigentlich schon alles gesagt: Top Ausstattung, alles sehr sauber, sehr angenehmer, freundlicher täglicher Service. Uns hat es an Nichts gefehlt und Beschwerden hatten wir keine. Wir würden wieder hinfahren!

A laid back fortnight

Just back from a fortnights stay at number 14. Ideally situated just twenty yards and a few steps from a great beach. Plenty of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance and local buses run up and down the main road which is fifty yards away . Will definitely book again.

Wonderful Holiday

We have recently returned from a three week stay at no 14 The Art Studios, after a ten day stay at Bottom Bay. We last stayed in Holetown six years ago at Lisa's other property ( Mango House ) but it was the first time we have stayed at the Art Studios. It did not disappoint, we had a wonderful holiday. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The bedroom (huge bed) and bathroom are on the ground floor, with the kitchen/dining area upstairs which then leads out onto a large balcony which has a sea view. The balcony has two sun beds and a table and four chairs The complex is made up of just 13 studio apartments and no 14 is the only apartment with a separate bedroom. The beach is right on the door step, wonderful for swimming in the Caribbean sea. The Apartments are looked after by Helena and Meschel who do a fantastic job, the bedding and towels were changed on a regular basis. The beautiful garden is looked after by Michael, who is a lovely man. We hired a car for a few days from Stoutes (local company who were excellent) and also went out and about on the local Reggae buses which are great fun. it is so easy to go anywhere around the Island on the buses. We also used Jackie to take us out a few times, his taxi can be found in the car park of the Discovery Bay Hotel Car park, his no is in the information book in the apartment. He took us to St Nicholas Abbey plantation House and Hunte's Gardens one day, both well worth a visit, we had a wonderful day out. Jackie also took us back to the airport (we would recommend him ) We went back to have a look St James Church, which is only a few minutes walk from the apartment, it is so beautiful in its simplicity. It is the oldest church on the Island. We ate out quite a bit and would recommend Limegrove, there are some very reasonable places in there to eat, West Bar, Lemongrass Noodle Bar and Pepenero the Italian Restaurant. We also had a delicious meal at The Mews. We went to The Tides a few times as it is still our favourite restaurant. We had a fantastic holiday and have some wonderful memories. Thank you Lisa and Steve for sharing your lovely home with us.

Locatiion, location, location!

Nestled in a garden setting are the Art Studios and no. 14 we feel has the best setting in the complex. The large balcony , equipped with good furniture, has a wonderful view of the sea, and the beach of Holetown is literally a few minutes walk along the sands. The apartment is well equipped, large fridge/freezer and oven and everything you need, and more plus hot water 24/7 and the housekeeping is more than acceptable. The gardens are beautifully kept and there are plenty of birds to watch and also the monkeys. Holetown as a wide variety of shops and restaurants and the Sunday street party is good fun, especially if you like karaoke. Back again next year - thank you.

Wonderful place for a holiday

We stayed in apartment no 14 for 4 nights in January 2017 and we enjoyed it a lot. The apartment is very well situated in a quiet location close to the sea but also close to shopping and restaurants. And there is a busstand nearby making it very easy to reach all corners of the island without renting a car. The apartment is well equipped with all things you might need in the kitchen and in all other aspects. From the wonderful balcony you can enjoy the sight and the sound of the ocean. In the garden we saw monkeys, hummingbirds and mongooses. This is a wonderful place for a holiday.

Perfect Location

Spent a fabulous week at the beginning of January in apartment 14. The location couldn't have been better. Plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The beach is just steps away and is very quiet, although you can walk up and down the beach to busier sections if you prefer. The supermarket is within walking distance and has a great selection, including some Waitrose products! There is also a deli counter - we bought lunch a few times and took it back to the apartment and ate out on the balcony. We used the bus a few times to get around the island - the bus stop is outside the entrance to the apartments. There isn't any air conditioning, which I was a little concerned about, but the fans kept the apartment cool and we didn't experience any problems. The apartment is well equipped and clean. We enjoyed several lunches on the balcony, which has a lovely sea view. The balcony is well equipped with table and chairs and two loungers. We look forward to booking another stay next year.

Great location as could walk to dinner, shopping. Bus stop at end of the road. Lovely beach steps away. Kitchen very well equipped. Property very clean and staff exceptional. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and plan to go again in 2017.

Perfect base for Bajan break

Just got back from a lovely three-week stay at Art Studios. Can't recommend it enough. Clean, comfortable and brilliantly located in Holetown - five minutes walk from a large supermarket as well as plenty of restaurants, shops and bars, although the well appointed kitchen means that you can just as easily self-cater and eat outside on the terrace. The pictures don't really do justice to how pleasant the terrace is - with a clear view of the beach and sea which is just metres away, with gorgeous swimming and sunsets. Why pay to stay at Sandy Lane when you can stay here and walk down the shore to the same beaches? Steve and Lisa were terrific hosts, with plenty of clear information and instructions before and during my stay. The daily maid service meant all I had to think about was which bar to go to next...

The perfect place for a relaxing holiday.

The apartment was comfortable and well-equipped for a self-catering break. Many meals were taken on the balcony which had a sea view as well as one of the gardens where the humming- birds were a delight each day. We also enjoyed meals at Ragamuffins-a must is the Sunday night cabaret, Zaccio's is excellent value and the Surfside Bar is also worth a visit. Excellent Indian food can be found at the Sitar but the nearby supermarket can provide good quality ingredients if you wish to prepare your own meals - don't forget Earl ' s takeaways from the back of his car at the end of the road. Each day, an early morning swim in the sea followed by sun-bathing on the beach or in the gardens. The staff were all most helpful and welcoming and meeting other visitors to the Art Studios was a pleasure. Would we recommend No. 14 to our friends? We already have ! As well as planning to return at the next opportunity- it' a real home-from-home. (With the right weather!)

Great apartment....fantastic location

We were met by the housekeeper who presented us with freshly cut flowers from the beautiful gardens….so a warm welcome indeed. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The kitchen seemed very well equipped, although with such a range of restaurants located a short walk away in Holetown we ate out most nights. It’s the location of the apartment that makes this such a great place….it is metres away from a small beach and the beautiful sea view can be admired from the roof terrace. There is a bus stop close to apartment making it possible to get to most places on the island easily, which saves on car hire. I would definitely book this apartment again when returning to Barbados.

Spectacular view of the ocean, private, clean.

This apartment is perfect for a couple, with king size bed and bath on lower floor and kitchen and lovely deck on upper floor. It is a basic but well equipped apartment, spotlessly clean, with daily maid service. Lovely view of the beach, with swimming and snorkelling. Close to grocery stores and restaurants. Wonderful beach walks in each direction. I highly recommend this apartment!

Fabulous apartment, the best in the complex.

Had a great 2 week stay in apartment 14. There is a fabulous view of the sea from the balcony now that the trees have been removed, and a small "beach" sitting area has been created for enjoying the sunsets and meeting the other residents. The apartment is well furnished and had everything I needed (only slight niggle was the oven was broken, but Im sure this will be fixed soon). The staff are very helpful and friendly as well. Location couldnt be better, with the beach 100yds away and 1st and 2nd street a short 5 minute walk. Ive already booked my next stay in 2015.

We have been visiting Barbados for over 20 years and have loved staying at the Art Studios. There aren't many self-catering options this close to the beach on the West (Platinum) Coast - it's closer than many hotel rooms!

Apartment 14 is unique within the complex as it is the only one on two levels. The bedroom and bathroom are downstairs. The Kitchen / dining area and balcony with view towards the Caribbean are upstairs.
