About this property

Historic Villa-Farm with Vineyards & Olives Trees

Villa Casavecchia, dating back to the 13th century is steeped in history. It is a unique rental home nestling on the farm, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards with magnificent views of the Chianti countryside. Casavecchia is in close proximity to Florence, Siena, Pisa, and many charming historical towns - making it a perfect Tuscan holiday experience.
The space
The entrance leads you through a large stone portal dating back to the renaissance into an impressive reception area which boasts high wooden beamed ceilings and antique furniture. A large painting of the family tree plus other historic paintings fill this room. An enormous sofa and various comfortable chairs make this area feel very sumptuous and welcoming.

A smaller Living room connects through a door from the reception room. There are two sofas and two armchairs and various other pieces of furniture including a TV. A stone fireplace is positioned at the end of this room. A door leads outside to the large walled garden, perfect alfresco dining, with a private swimming pool behind a small gate. Through a door from this living room is a large dining room, accommodating over 12 people. The room features a large fireplace and trompe l’oeil paintings on the walls; this dining room also has a door leading to the garden outside.

The Kitchen is modern and fully furnished with cockery, cutlery, glasses, oven, microwave oven, fridge, dishwasher, toaster, coffee machine (filter and espresso), ice making machine and other amenities that may be needed for your stay in Tuscany, including two service tables, chairs. The view from the kitchen window is spectacular. This kitchen is ideal for Cooking classes, featuring a marble table (extremely useful for homemade pasta or bread!)

There are six bedrooms. Five with bathrooms en suite. Three bedrooms are double and three are twins. One twin bedroom has access to the guest bathroom in the hallway.

The laundry room is equipped with a washing machine.
Guest access
You arrive into a large safe parking area in front of the Villa. You have access to walk anywhere on the 45 acre farm.
Other things to note
The Villa is very safe however it is insisted that the main front door is always closed. There are other homes on the farm who use the same parking space as the Villa.

The Perfect Getaway

This was such a wonderful and picturesque place to stay with our family ranging in ages from 7 to 87. The host was very easy to get a hold of and everything was wonderful. The kids loved the pool and the villa was perfect.

Wonderful Experience

We stayed with our extended family at the villa for four days and we wished we had more time! The setting in the olive trees and grape vines is truly lovely. We swam in the pool every afternoon. Everything was excellent: the lodging, the local restaurants and wineries, the proximity to Florence, everything. The only thing we did not realize was the amount of mosquitoes in Tuscany, so, if you come in summer, bring spray!

Beautiful Tuscan Villa!

Villa Casavecchia is a beautiful and well maintained villa in a location with a splendid view. The interior of the home is comfortable and full of interesting art and antique furniture. The hosts are friendly, responsive, and very helpful with any requests. We celebrated the after party of my wedding here and had an absolute blast. The hosts put us in touch with some local party planners and they managed much of the logistical prep between them. Despite being a historic house, it’s well equipped with nice fridges, ice makers, good plumbing etc. Very comfortable. The rooms are spacious and well maintained considering the age of the property. It’s a stunning estate and makes for a perfect family get away or party location. It’s close to San Casciano in Val Di Pesa and there are nice walks nearby. I can’t recommend it enough!
