The top level of the home is where you will find the living room, office/den which features a queen sleeper sofa, kitchen, dining area and master bedroom. The kitchen is perfect for entertaining. Spacious, with granite surfaces, stainless steel appliances and a center island large enough to cook and layout a number of hor douves, the kitchen might be one of your favorite gathering locations. The living room is beautifully decorated, and includes a flat screen television, gas fireplace and comfortable seating. The dining room can host eight for dinner. Finally, the rooftop deck and the porches make "Wave Reviews" truly special. The outdoor living area is comfortable, and the perfect place to catch the ocean breeze in the evenings.

We had an absolutely WONDERFUL week staying in this house over Christmas vacation. We had 5 adults and 1 child and still had room for more. When my children walked in they said that It was even better than in the pictures, which I totally agree with. Everything was lovely! We loved the open living room/dining room/ kitchen because no one was ever out of the mix unless they wanted to be. Then they could go outside on one of the many porches or go to the den, or even spend time reading in their rooms. We brought our own Christmas decorations, which made the house feel even more our own, and we even got a beautiful Christmas tree. Everything was PERFECT! The walk to the beach was so easy and the beach is beautiful. Keep in mind that we were there when it was too cold to swim, but we all STILL thoroughly enjoyed our time spent down there. We didn' t rent bikes on this visit, but we could have not only ridden them around town, but on the beach as well. The walk to the rec center was really short, which was so nice because our 3 yr. old grandchild found many other little ones to play with there. We went into Charleston 4 different times ( lunch and Children's Museum, Aquarium visit, dinner one night and shopping one afternoon) and it never took us longer than 20 min. to get there. Also, the airport is really quite close for easy pick up and drop off. There is a grocery store 10 really short blocks from the house... One could walk it or bike it if they wanted to, and Harris Teeter, Whole Foods and Trader Joes are all a close drive away. There was nothing that we needed or wanted that we weren't able to get there. Everything worked very smoothly. Would definitely go through Beachside again. Have already told friends! We all would DEFINITELY rent this house again and have already suggested it to other family members and friends.

Lots of room for 3 families

  • 4 of 5

Had a great time and the location is fantastic. There was several small issues that came up or that I noticed while there that surprised me given the cost preventing me from 5 stars. The good: Plenty of space for 6 adults and 8 kids. Super close to the beach access. Fantastic kitchen and Master suite. The house was clean when we arrived and the check in process was less than 5 minutes. The elevator was great for bringing all of our stuff and groceries up. The rooms are all spacious. The not so great: We were only provided with 3 dish towels, only 1 cable remote worked, the WiFi did not work well (poor signal quality around the house). We put in a service call for it as well as a light out in 2nd floor shower, pool lights did not work, a bed frame collapsed because the braces had no screws in them, and a crack in the roof. The bed was fixed, but none of those other issues were resolved, but probably takes time. The pool area was not well kept with plants overgrown around the outdoor shower you were standing on the plants to wash off. The outdoor grill drip tray is completely rusted so when we cooked on the grill it just dripped on the patio.

Nice house with plenty of porches/lounge spots, easy walk to beach

  • 4 of 5

2 families and a set of grandparents stayed for a week and had a nice time. The house was big enough for everyone and all the accessories (pots, pans, dishes, sheets, etc) were fine. Was a bummer to find out that the pool couldnt be heated but we managed. Enjoyed the ping pong table and all the various balconies. Public beach access was just a block away. Would stay again.

Not very pleased - Rat Infestation

  • 1 of 5

We rented this house for 12 people and there were only enough towels for 8 of us, same with the soap and shampoos. There was an ironing board but no iron. When I called Beachside Rentals, they said they would bring it over soon, it took several hours before everything was brought over.

The worst part about the house was a rat infestation...There were visible rats on the property and each night inside you can hear them moving around inside the walls, it was eerie and most nights we did not sleep much. This really was a bad experience for us.

Great property. Spacious, comfortable, and very clean. The pool was lovely in the afternoons. The multiple decks were also enjoyed by our large party. We would rent this property again. Thanks sharing your home with us.

We all loved the house! It was even better than the photos - if you can believe that! We would love to rent it for next year's vacation. Perfect for all of us and we felt like we were at 'home' at the end of the day! Slept great; great open kitchen/dining/family room; perfect pool; elevator was great to have; couldn't have been nicer! THANK YOU!

Wonderful Family Vacation Destination

  • 5 of 5

We just completed a week's stay at this lovely home. As an extended family of 12 people, we found the large, open entertainment area and adjoining porch to be the center of our activity. The generous floorplan allowed us to be all together when we wished to be or in many different areas when we wanted more "down" time. All of the bedrooms are large and airy, most with French doors to a porch or balcony. We appreciated the quality throughout and the fact that nice linens are provided - a huge advantage since some family members arrived by air. The home is well furnished inside and out with attractive and comfortable pieces.

The proximity to the beach was perfect, and the location generally very satisfactory. Our favorite activity was riding bikes on the beach, which was easily arranged with a local rental company who had the bikes there waiting for us when we arrived.

Getting to downtown Charleston is an easy drive, and we took advantage of restaurants, shopping and tours there. Charleston has a lot to offer for a small city. If you drive there, just be sure to have a good road map, as there are many one-way streets.

It's not necessary, however, to venture all the way downtown for good food. Nearby Sullivan's Island and Mt. Pleasant have many restaurants, including some with outdoor seating which we sought.

The Isle of Palms was a fun place to have a vacation, and this particular house is one we would definitely stay at again.

This home is perfect for your vacation on the Isle of Palms. Located at the center of the island, this home is walking distance to the recreation center, a block from the beach, and about a mile from the town area and Wild Dunes. Ask about golf cart rentals for this home, and cruise the island casually in style. Come and spend a week making memories that will last a lifetime!
