Perfectly sufficient. I needed a couple of nights away from the city for a couple of nights. But I wanted a few and a comfy place if I was going to escape the city. Just in case, here are some things about the property to highlight: NO TV (but there is internet), the steps to the water are VERY steep... and its much further down than you think. Moreover, the immediate access to the beach is a sharp 10' drop... not exactly dog freindly. The beach itself is barnacle and rough stone riddled... while not bad... you should be aware. The drive down to the house is steep and UNPAVED. So with enough rain... it could be difficult getting in and out (the write up only cautions winter weather - though a good rain could also be a problem).
Holiday Get Away
Had a great time at property. Really set up with things you need. Loved the bed! Be use to bring extra indoor shoes for "shoe off policy" and some soaking salts for the wonderful bath tub. Thanks for letting us bring our dog, but stairs all around to get in, not good for older dogs with hip issues.
Beauiful setting for cabin but in need of maintenance
This cabin has a beautiful view but is in need of some repairs. The kitchen has lots of dishes but limited pots and pans. Also very limited cooking utensils. The oven buttons were difficult as the 0 and 9 for setting the oven are not operational. The kitchen sink hose is broken. Two of the skillets had to be washed before using as there was food stuck to them.
There is not a lock on the main floor bathroom.
The windows offer a beautiful view but they are very drafty in the winter.
There are several basic maintenance issues that need to be addressed such as a missing doorknob on laundry room door.
We also had to go to the neighbors and ask them to keep their dog indoors or stop his barking as the first night we listened to him outside for at least an hour.
Large table with ample chairs for all to sit at table.
Needs a television!!
Good supply of games to entertain everyone.
The pictures on the web sight do not tell the whole story. This home is probably OK for a group of fraternity brothers or sorority sisters as a summer or early fall destination but definitely not for any other season or group of adults.
We will rate the areas we feel were most important to us on a scale of 1-10.
Overall Cleanliness (6) very dated and the maintenance of the property inside was poor: dirt and grime throughout the house. Many nicks, dings and dents in the walls. Could use good coat of paint.
Lighting (4) burned out bulb Upstairs bath and insufficient lighting throughout the entire house. Very dark and depressing. Light swithches (numerous) which seemed to not control anything. Difficult to figure out what controlled what.
Kitchen(3): Needs cooking utensils. Setting buttons for oven for 0 and 9 not functional. Pull out sprayer on faucet has plate that is not attached to sink. Switch for garbage disposal in very dangerous place on front of cabinet. If you lean into sink you turn the disposal on. Pots and pans filthy with cooked on food.
Bedrooms(5): Advertised as sleeping six. Downstairs bedroom had 2 queens which can be a problem with 2 people in each bed. A bit awkward. No extra blankets for floor mat sleeping etc.
Overall maintenance (4) Downstairs bathroom had no lock. Windows nice for view but very drafty in winter weather. Lack of rain gutters at laundry room entrance make it difficult when pouring rain. Lots of games for entertaining but NO television.
We are disappointed to see this guest did not have a better stay in this home and wish they had contacted us about some of these issues. Maintenance has taken care of the burnt out light bulbs, kitchen inventory has been taken, and we will see about providing additional blankets and pillows. Thank you!
The view at this home was just lovely. The big dining table and master bedroom were quite nice, and the beds were comfortable.
Lovely comfy A frame home with serene views.
Fun weekend for projects with Mom and daughters. Good for cooking as well.
