We stayed at Devra's place last week and were impressed with the amenities and beautiful decor of the home nestled in a cozy neighborhood near a lake. We enjoyed our stay; took advantage of the swings in the back yard and the bikes and scooter; very nice touch! There were a couple of canoes and a cool floating dock but we didn't have time to take advantage of them. The home was a bit further away from the places we visited but provided a nice home base after a fun day out. The neighbors, Betty and Janet, were warm and super friendly.
The cons: The bed and pillows in the master were not as firm as I liked, also could use a couple more pillows on all the beds; the door of the second bathroom didn't close all the way and the tub in that bathroom needed to be replaced.
The pros: 'store' set up for treats, toiletries and other items; microwave Devra provided was much appreciated; clothing steamer, TV in each room and free WiFi.
Overall, a great stay! Thank you!
This home is absoutley breath taking my family and i literally did not want to leave! The pictures do not do it justice! You feel so at home i would recommend this home to anyone! Thank you so much for such an incredible expeirence! We will sure be back in the future! God bless!!
The property was perfect. Very clean and well kept.
The property was perfect for us. Our only regret was that we did not have time to enjoy the lake. Our hostess was extremely helpful in many ways. I loved the idea she had to have available (for purchase) personal items one might have forgotten , and snacks ! I have never had this before. Nice touch! I would recommend staying here. 30-40min drive to Clearwater, Dunedin, Tampa. Easy drive.
Thanks so much for the awesome review and for choosing our home. 😊
Great Spot to Get Away for a Holiday!
Devra`s lake house is a lovely spot to park yourself and get away from it all. Sporting a modern and minimal decor, what it lacks in proximity to amenities it makes up for in tranquility. The fenced-in yard with swings is a real treat for the kiddies and the fire pit allows some adult time. The televisions in every room, while not everyone’s flavour, complement the free local telephone service, Chromebook, Wi-Fi, and luxury en suite bathroom to make for a stress-free respite (these items really saved us!). The house is still in its infancy so expect some minor hiccups. For example, the following items would be useful: a microwave, dressers, reading lamps (you’re at the whim of your overhead lights unfortunately), extra bathroom tissue, surplus dishes and wine glasses (despite there being a dishwasher and the house sleeping six guests), extra pillows, and lifejackets for the kayaks. The house hosts its own 'store', a cache of items to purchase during your stay (toiletries, sunglasses, gift boxes, stuffed animals and a lot of candy). If you’ve got kids or no willpower yourself (or simply don’t enjoy “shopping” while at home), then give Devra a shout and I`m sure she’ll hide it all for you in advance. In a similar vein, the kitchen contains a Keurig coffee maker (an environmental scourge, but I digress), so you'll need to bring your own cups or coffeemaker if you want to avoid paying a buck a Keurig cup from the "store". Also, there appears to be no recycling (in all of Odessa?), so bring a box to cart it out if this concerns you. What the house lacks in small things, however, Devra compensated by promptly providing us with what we needed and ensured our stay was a smooth one from start to finish. If you're doing Tampa proper, you might find this a touch far (but then, by Florida standards, it seems as though everyone drives a lot anyway), but if you`re looking to get away from it all, this is the perfect place. The house is exactly as the photos depict in the listing: clean, and beautifully located amongst the lakeside houses and cottages. A lovely park with tennis courts and a children`s playground is a mere 15 minute walk away, and Devra provides a handy reference of local amenities (again, expect to drive). Overall, a great visit, and thanks Devra, for being the hostess with the most(ess)! *Important note for all VRBO-users: This website`s rates are in US currency, something the site doesn’t tell you! (Grrrr!)
Thanks for the review! It was a pleasure having you and your lovely family stay. You all made perfect timing too because the cold weather came after you left. Once again, thank you so much. 😊
