Praiano Heaven
This is possibly still one of the best memories our family talk about since our return from Europe 2013. Thank you soooooo much Elena and family for this fantastic opportunity to stay in your home at one of the most beautiful locations. The comfort, and ease of this holiday stay was exceptional. Your communication and friendly guidance made us feel like home. We miss our daily trips to Angela's for fresh local food and swimming in rock pool below the apartment....wow! Amazing

Truly Stunning
I was fortunate enough to spend some time with my family here. To say I was impressed is an understatement. The apartment is not your typical "vacation rental"- it truly feels like "home" (super clean, roomy, and comfortable). The big glass doors in the living area open out to the most stunning views of the sea. The owner (Elena) is flexible, generous, and helpful which make the stay that much more pleasurable. She leaves nothing to chance or guesswork. She has suggestions and recommendations for every kind of traveler (restaurants, getting around, beaches, best gelaterias, etc.). We also stayed at her rental in Rome and could not be happier with our choice: super spacious (which is rare in Rome), super clean, and super convenient without being touristy. The same level of attentiveness to detail prevails in both locations.

Amazingly Beautiful
If you're looking for an authentic Italian experience and stay, this is the place. My 2 sons, husband and I stayed here for a week and explored the Amalfi coast. The location can't be beat. The village of Praiano is like a place out of a cultural storybook that is very centrally located to the other more touristy towns. The locals are friendly and helpful and the restaurants serve up local authentic food. The apartment was very clean and spacious. The decor and furnishings truly Italian. There's a private "pool" carved out of bedrock and the natural sea water. My boys had a blast playing in the waves that washed into the pool. The owner and property manager were extremely helpful and flexible: icing on the cake. We can't wait to go back and (hopefully) stay longer next time.

Week in Heaven
My husband and I, our daughter and her boyfriend, have just returned from a wonderful two weeks in Italy. The highlight, however, was our week staying at Residence Deneb in Praiano. It was very comfortable and felt like home! The photos are a true indication of what it is like. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets from the terrace of the villa, swimming in the rockpool below, getting to know some of the locals in the delightful village, and eating delicious meals at the restaurants recommended by Elena. Praiano is perfectly placed to explore the Amalfi Coast! It doesn't matter what the weather is like, and we had everything from rain to beautiful sunshine, there is so much to see and do. Elena provided us with a very comprehensive list of activities! We could easily have had two weeks! I would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives.

So beautiful it seemed unreal
My first impression of the Amalfi coast and of the house itself is that the entire situation seems unrealistically beautiful. When I came out of the bedroom and stepped out on to the terrace, I kept seeing more and more sea until I thought it wouldn't be possible to see more, and then once I was all the way outside, sure enough there was even more. The house is very spacious for the number of people it sleeps- perhaps 3 times the size of other "Sleeps 4" places I've stayed in. It is decorated in a way that is tasteful and authentic to the region. It was very pleasing to me. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was fully equipped for real cooking-- not just a bottle opener and silverware. I really appreciated that while we were trying out some of the numerous recipes that were recited to us with loving care by grocers and restauranteurs. The only significant downside for us is that there were mosquitoes near sundown (we were there in September)-- so come prepared with long sleeves and pants, and make sure not to leave the screen doors open once it starts to get close to sundown. The stairs could be an issue for some (there are 70-some stairs between the parking area and the entrance, and a good many more to get down to the water. We knew about this going in so we counted it as much-needed exercise, but for the mobility-impaired it could be more of an issue. The coast is loaded with things to do and great food all along the coast (and even inland, if you dare climb the mountains behind you!). We really enjoyed the Paper Museum in Amalfi as well as the various dramatic caves dotting the coast (the touristy one is nice but I enjoyed the adventure of getting a kayak and setting out to find our own. Even though the caves we found weren't quite as dramatic as the "Emerald Grotto", it felt so much more real to have found them ourselves!

Paradise Found!
This property is just simply heavenly. Whether you are looking for a home base to explore the Amalfi Coast for a couple days or a quiet retreat to spend a couple weeks...you've found it. Centrally located on the coastal road, the unit is on the lower level of the complex (Residence Deneb) with a fabulous grassy terrace overlooking nothing but the beautiful sea. 213 steps down to the sea and you arrive to a secluded "beach" with a natural pool connected to the sea...perfection! The apartment is well maintained and appointed very tastefully and comfortably. Additionally, the owners have lots of friends in the area that know them well who treat you very warmly...Alimentary Angela has all you need and is willing to deliver the most delicious food/wine on the planet and restaurant Il Pirata is magical for food, scenery, and service. I can't wait to go back...next time I will go for a lot more time (at least 10 days!) and have nothing on the itinerary but to enjoy that terrace. Praiano is an excellent choice for a stay on the Amalfi Coast as it is between Positano and Amalfi (centrally located) and a lot less touristy than those sites. I highly recommend this place!

Spacious and Charming
We are two couples averaging in our late fifties. Our four nights in this charming apartment were way too few. There is so much to take in along the Amalfi Coast and our time was too short; but that is a different story. It is a long way to walk down to the apartment if you are dropped off at the upper gate as we were. At first it was a little off-putting but after exploring the Amalfi area, it is quite common and actually not that far of a walk by comparison to other locations we found. (The driver picking us up drove down to get us making our departure much easier.) The Praiano area is superb. This is an authentic little town full of real people. It is not a tourist town for which we are so glad. It is the Amalfi Coast so get use to going up and down all the time. We joked that we had to stop going out to eat as we were losing too much weight. :-) The apartment is spacious and clean. The beds comfortable and there is ample privacy. The kitchen is small but, being on vacation, all we used was the refrigerator. The internet worked fine and we all got a chance to Facetime our families back in the States. The shower in the main bedroom drains into a drain on the bathroom floor making it difficult to leave items on the floor of the bathroom as things will get wet. As a result, we all just took showers in the main bathroom. That is the only (and very slight) negative with the apartment. Elena was wonderful to deal with and always responded quickly and accurately. The online photos are accurate but do not truly show how spacious this is... especially for Europe. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and would most definitely recommend this location to anyone. We took a small Zodiac boat from Praiano to Capri. Bouncing across the Med was so much fun. (Really!) The Blue Grotto and Capri town are stunning. If you are in halfway good shape, do the "Path of the Gods" starting from Bomerano. There are no words to describe this walk. But, be aware that the SITA buses can be "iffy". They stop right at the Deneb gate (that is if they are not so full that the just wave as the pass you by). And, of course, visit Positano and Amalfi. While more 'touristy' than Praiano, they are a must see and are actually quite beautiful. That said, you could also do well never leaving the wonderful terrace one step out of the huge french doors of the apartment. A loaf of bread, some, prosciutto, olives and a glass of wine (or limoncello) ... you'll do just fine. Ciao

Amazing vacation
My husband and I can't say enough wonderful things about this property and our stay there. It is in an absolutely beautiful location, away from the tourists and in a quaint town. Felt like a hidden gem. We loved the private rock beach and protected swimming area. The water was beautiful and it was nice to have a calm area to swim. The apartment is very spacious and stocked with everything we needed. We utilized the kitchen and enjoyed food shopping at the local store recommended by the apartment owners. Great hiking and exploring options right from the apartment without having to drive. Bus stop is right at the top of the driveway to access surrounding towns/attractions. We spent most of our time enjoying the location of this apartment. It's very relaxing and absolutely gorgeous view. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!! We will never forget it!

Wish we didn't have to leave
This rental was way beyond our expectations. The description is accurate but there is no way you can understand it without experiencing it. We had traveled quite a distance to arrive...train from Grosetto to Rome, train from Rome to Naples, train from Naples to Sorrento and taxi ride to Priaiano, so we were exhausted. It was a gorgeous, sunny day and the view revitalized us along with the sound of someone singing from the cliffs....it was hard to believe. We really enjoyed our meals at Trattoria San Gennaro and gelato. The grocery store across from St Gennaro's had everything we needed. We traveled to Pompeii from here. This was a trip worth taking, we had a great guide made available to us without having to prearrange this. We took the SITA bus to Sorrento and Circumvesuvias train to Pompeii. Mrs Pina was very helpful and the accommodations were clean. I would not have wanted to drive a car in the traffic here. The SITA bus worked out fine even though you can not count on it being on time. Pack light because carrying luggage up 125 steps is hard, but worth it. The natural swimming pool is amazing, bring snorkel gear. We all have this place on our list of places to return ....

Paradise on earth
They say in real estate location is everything...let me tell you this...for a vacation, this location is everything!!! Praiano is this very special place with such friendly people, especially if you mention Virginia or Elena's name...then everyone is your friend!!! And this comfortable apartment is the best location within the best location! Imagine waking up to this magnificent view and enjoying the comfort of a home away from home...That's it. My favorite place is around this natural private pool, total relaxation!!! And like us, you think of visiting Rome and Tuscany, then you found the perfect combination and ask for information to Elena. The Bed and Breakfast in Rome if also perfectly located to a short walking distance St-Peter's cathedral. And the apartments in the most romantic castle at Montisi...a fairy tale...but for real. Enjoy your vacation!!! Like I did :-)

Fabulous - even better the second time
This is our second time at this apartment and we absolutely love it. It was even better the second time. The apartment is spacious and very comfortable. The ability to just go down the stairs to your own beach is priceless and makes the experience so easy and relaxing. The water is beautiful and we loved swimming around the rocks and lazing on our lilo in the sea. The view from the apartment is gorgeous and the town of Praiano is great. We love all the shops and the restaurants and especially the fact that Praiano is a real town, not just a tourist village.

Lovely getaway
My husband and I are from Canada and spent five days at this delightful spot. We were very happy with the apartment that we had. Very spacious and extremely clean. The property is beautiful, perched high over the sea. We did the 200 plus stairs daily and went swimming in the sea. Gorgeous! Elena and Mrs. Pina are more than helfpul and will do what it takes to make sure you are happy. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone staying on the Amalfi coast. Close to town, easy to walk for groceries, etc. We had a lovely time, and would not hesistate to go back.

Peaceful and Relaxing
Our family of 2 adults and 3 kids stayed here in summer and found it a charming and relaxing residence. The housekeeper was very friendly and after overcoming our language barriers, showed us how to work the appliances. The place was very clean and comfortable and well equipped. We all just loved the terrace and the views which were even more spectacular than the photos indicated. We didn't have a car and it was no problem at all. We enjoyed walking into Praiano or to the local beaches and caught the local bus everywhere. We would definitely recommend this place and rate it as one of the best places we visited in our month away.

Praiano Review
June 10 – 17, 2012 We had a wonderful week in Almalfi, staying at Residence Deneb. To start with Elena was so very easy to deal with and provides lots of useful tips and information. We had several wonderful meals at local restaurants based on her recommendations. The only tricky bit about the residence is getting out – the driveway is Very steep and enters onto a fairly busy road – I think my husband nearly burned the clutch on our rental car. Driving is NOT like North America and we quickly opted to use the local bus system which was fine. We found the apartment well quipped, clean and very roomy. The view from the garden has to be seen to be believed simply breathtaking.

Like going to the family beach house - with better views
Arriving at this property is an interesting experience. Right off the highway you meet Pina, the wonderful property manager, who opens the large entrance gate to the apartment complex. You drive down a steep driveway to the parking area. When you walk down the stairs to the property you are taken away by the view, even though you have seen the view in the listing pictures. The terrace is everything! Everything everyone else has said about the proximity to the wonderful towns of Positano, Amalfi and Ravello is absolutely true either by car (parking is somewhat difficult) or by bus, which stops right outside the gate. The town of Praiano itself should not be sold short. While it doesn't have to be the charm of being built into a cliff like the other towns, the café, the shopkeepers and the restaurants are all friendly and very good. We ate all our dinners (one week) in Praiano and all of them were either very good or excellent, some with great views of Positano twinkling at night. The owner of the apartment, Elena, is wonderful to deal with, very straightforward and honest. When she says that the apartment was built by her grandfather, you can see it when you walk in; solid furniture, the tiles on the floor, the rustic, small kitchen and the updated bathrooms (one with a funky shower where you pull the shower curtain around you while you are standing on the bathroom floor). We only used the master bedroom and the bed was very comfortable and we were able to place lamps on the two night tables for reading. All in all, a very comfortable apartment with the relaxed feeling that you would have if you went to a family beach house.

Awesome Apartment
In April 2011, four of us (my wife, another couple and I) spent six days/five nights in Elena’s wonderful apartment in Praiano. The setting was fabulous – a private garden area with beautiful flowers overlooking the Mediterranean. It was perfect for relaxing in the sun or shade, listening to the waves below, and watching the occasional boats pass by. The accommodations were great – the two bedrooms were spacious, a nicely furnished kitchen, indoor areas for reading or listening to music, and wifi available throughout the apartment. The apartment is conveniently located on the main coastal road in a gated community. During our visit, we left our car parked in the gated parking area and walked short distances to various restaurants and sites within Praiano. Also, for a day of sightseeing in nearby Positano (8km) or Amalfi Town (10km), it is very convenient to take the Regional SETA buses, which stop across the street from the apartment. Regarding Praiano sites, I highly recommend walking the nearby trail past the San Domenico monastery and along the Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods). The views of Praiano and the Amalfi Coast from the trail are truly spectacular and well worth the uphill walk. We enjoyed seeing the nearby sites, but always looked forward to returning to the peaceful atmosphere of the residence. We extend a big thank you to Elena for making her apartment available. It was truly a highlight of our vacation. We hope to return again soon.

Our second visit, “Most Unforgettable Place”
This is our second visit to the Praiano Villa, The views from the Villa are some of the most beautiful, awe-inspiring scenery we have ever seen. You look out from your private terrace to see the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. Location, location, location, you just can't be in a better spot. . Praiano is definitely the unspoiled jewel of the Amalfi Coast- everything about it was perfect. It was uncrowded, the locals were so friendly and welcoming, and hearing the church bells ring every hour was soothing. From the Villa, we took the SITA bus (the stop is located right outside the Villa ) to Amalfi, Ravello, Altrani, Minori, Positano, and all the other coastal towns. What a great bargain- for 6E you can get a 24 hour ticket that allows you to switch buses and travel the coast as much as you'd like. (You buy the ticket from the tabacchi shop right in the square). All in all, we loved the Villa, Praiano, and the Amalfi Coast. It is a romantic, magical, and stunning place to take a vacation. Go once and your heart will be captured forever!

Little piece of paradise
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this place in Praiano. Roomy, comfortable, clean and charming (hand painted tile floors even!). The best thing about it is the private garden overlooking the sea and private steps leading down to the beach--so beautiful and peaceful! My only regret is not staying longer.

Fabulous Two Weeks in Praiano!!
We had a wonderful time in Praiano with our two grandchildren, daughter and son-in-law. The place was very comfortable for all of us. We loved the view - watching the boats go by, especially at night with the boat lights on. The private beach was great fun for the kids - swimming and watching the crabs on the rocks. The town is wonderful and everyone knows the owner's family and so they were very nice to us -delivering food and helping us with directions. Great time! We will definitely come back!

A perfect place to stay!
What a wonderful week! Our family had a great time. First of all, the information given by the owner was very accurate. You can absolutely trust Elena and she is very helpful. You can feel secure about renting the apartment. Someone was there as well to welcome us upon our arrival. The property is very well located. What a view! We liked sitting outside in the garden either to relax or to enjoy a great dinner with a good Italian wine. The private access to the sea is perfect. Our family had a great time swimming and enjoying the warm water. The kids had a lot of fun! We rented a car and driving was an interesting experience. If you rent a car, make sure it is a small size...Praiano, Ravello, Positano, Capri, Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius are attractions that we recommend to see during your stay. We are keeping very good memories of our trip!

Perfectly charming and great location for local flavor
We had a lovely week here with our two children. The apartment we rented was in the same building but different from the one featured. The owner gave us very thorough information as to what to expect. From the initial contact with the owner I knew we were in good hands. Her responses were timely and thorough and upon booking she provided us with a most detailed account of what to do and see in the area. We loved being right on the water and our best days included time on the rocks below, jumping into the crystal clear sea. This building is unusual as it sits below the main road which puts you on an out cropping of rock for the most beautiful views. Praiano is a gem of a town and offered a more authentic Italian experience than I think the nearby more popular towns would have. We were able to easily bus over to Positano for the evening and drove to our other destinations including wonderful Ravello. We walked into town a few evenings for dinner and spent time at night in the local piazza by the church watching the locals and gazing at the stars and Positano across the way lit up like a million little candles. Truly magical.

Wonderful Apartment with Gorgeous Views!
Our family of four stayed for five nights at the apartment directly above this apartment in the same building. First of all, it was a pleasure working with the owner from the initial inquiry. She was professional, accommodating and responsive. Both our apartment and the one listed here were very similar in space and amenities. The views of the Med and the neighboring areas are literally indescribable. We really did not want to leave after five days. I took a nap on the outdoor sofa every afternoon and I can still hear the sounds of the luxury boats down below. We found the amenities in the apartment to be just what we needed and we spent most of our time jumping into the sea from the local "La Gavitella" beach. My two young sons loved jumping off the rocks into the sea. Just like anywhere else in Italy, it takes a day or two to become familiar with the markets, bus schedules, parking...etc. The apartment building has its own parking lot and we would recommend leaving your car there and using the bus to get to the area towns. The driving can be precarious on these narrow, winding roads. Otherwise we walked the 10 minutes into town to shop. There are no real sidewalks so at first it feels strange walking with your children on the main road. However, you get used to it and realize that the locals driving are cognizant of people on the road. Lastly, the people in Praiano were so warm. It is the "true Italy." The housekeeper was very sweet and her English was pretty good! Our recomendations are that you bring enough cash with you in the summertime as the Bancomat ATM regularly runs out of cash and please get the bus schedule from the Tourist Info Office in town. The buses going either direction pick you up right outside the apartment building but you will want to have the exact times so you don't wait out in the hot sun for 45 minutes like we did! We would love to return in the future. Mille grazie!

Best Friends Holiday in Praiano
This was a very special get-away for 2 best friends who have traveled together for many years. Words and pictures can’t truly describe the beauty of Residence Deneb and the Amalfi Coast. The night that we arrived we were greeted by the full moon shining on the sea and welcoming us to our home for 2 weeks. The apartment was clean and well appointed with everything that we needed. We each enjoyed the privacy of our own bath and bedroom. Without fear, we left the doors open to the sea (with only the screens) every night. The history of this residence is evident and you could imagine the times when families vacationed there together. Some days we found it difficult to put down our books and explore. We visited Angela, Salvatore and Lucca at the grocery every day to purchase what we needed and report on our recent day trips. Salvatore got us a special porkloin wrapped and tied with fresh rosemary for our weekend dinner at home. We enjoyed making many of our meals at home in the perfect little kitchen and then eating them under the cover of the wisteria. Yes, there are steps everywhere you go along this coast, but after a couple days, we were stronger and faster! We found the driving fun and would recommend renting a car. It gave us the flexibility to go where we wanted, when we wanted, including many wrong turns! The driver needs another set of eyes to help watch for signs! Parking is at a premium but it was never a problem especially with the new parking garage in Amalfi. Go visit this beautiful, authentic Italian hideaway! You will not be disappointed and you will long to return! We offer many thanks to Elena for being a gracious "host" and for all the help and communication that she provided in our two year planning process.

Gorgeous views, needs some work
If you are going to Amalfi for the sea views this is the place to go. 180 degree view of the water from the terrace as advertised. However it does need some TLC. Paint chipping off the walls in the bath and shutters, rusted railings, overgrown grass on the terrace (10 inches long), and toilet seats that don't fit the toilets are some examples of lack of attention over the years. 87 steps from the parking lot does not add in another 150 or so steps up the ramp to the main road, then add another 15 minute walk to anywhere (including the grocery store) along a VERY dangerous road, and you had better enjoy staying at the apartment and just enjoying the view. Driving anywhere in Amalfi is very stressful and expensive (3 euros an hour minimum) if you can even find a place to park. The bus runs every 45 minutes or so. We left two days early.

10/10 Excellent

A Little Piece of Heaven!
Frankly I don't know where to start as this property was fabulous, and I would say that the listing does not due the actual property justice....it is better. The property photos, of which the owner is happy to provide more of, are accurate - the property was very clean and provided all the amenities that were listed. I guess the only item I would have liked in the kitchen was a cheese grater, but we made do. As I stated this property was very clean upon arrival and seems well maintained as we ran into no problems. All our questions prior to arrival were responded to by the owner. We have rented through VRBO several times and this was by far the best experience...thank you Elena! I would definately recommend this property even during low season, or February, when we visit Praiano. Of course you don't encounter the hustle and bustle of summer tourists, but you do get to experience time with folks that actually live along the Amalfi Coast. We enjoyed a visit to Amalfi [take the bus as it is very easy, but you have to buy tickets at the Tabacco shop, you can't buy tickets on the bus], Pompeii, and Positano [again, we took the bus]. Some items to note about the property - you are required to recycle rubbish according to strict guidelines, but we had no problem as the directions are provided in a clear manner, and there are lots of stairs which frankly we enjoyed after all the pasta and wine! Also, take time and enjoy the property. If you fill up all your time with a day here and a day there you won't be able to enjoy the flat, scenery from the patio and see the sunrise. Also, stop by the Bar de Sole as it is a happening place and the beer is great.
