The bunk room facing the lake features adult size cedar log bunk beds (the bunk room is not air conditioned).
All linens and towels are provided. We give you a starter paper supplies kit which includes paper towels, trash bags and toilet paper rolls.

Amazing & quiet cabin on the lake!
We stayed at the cabin for four weeks in the summer and had a wonderful stay. The owners were great, they communicated with us for everything and went above and beyond for our stay with them. The cabin has a ton of character and because it's tucked into a cove you don't get a lot of noise or distraction from the lake. The pontoon boat was a huge benefit and gave us easy access to the lake whenever we wanted it. The back deck provided a great spot to relax at the end of the day and watch the beautiful sunsets. The cabin is 10 minutes from downtown Traverse City which was another nice benefit. I would highly recommend this cabin and the owners to anyone considering this for future rentals.

A peaceful stay
This cabin was perfect for a quiet family vacation. The cabin was cute, well taken care of and clean. We enjoyed the outdoor spaces, the pontoon and the friendly neighborhood too. Downtown TC and other areas with walking trails, breweries and wineries were a short drive.

As advertised
The cabin was advertised as a cozy, genuine, log building on a quiet cove. It was exactly that. We took advantage of the pontoon rental for our stay and found it very convenient. The proximity to main roads allowed easy access to shopping and Traverse city. Anything we needed/wanted was just a short drive. Our dogs (2 labs) loved swimming off the dock and beach. My son and I caught fish (large and smallmouth bass) every time we went out. This was our first two week stay at a rental cabin and we found that we could relax and enjoy our vacation rather than rushing home after one week.

Serene Log Cabin on Silver L:ake
I, along with my wife and two friends just spent an idyllic month at this beautiful cabin located on a quiet and scenic part of Silver Lake. We've stayed in many cabins over the years but this one is by far the nicest. Rustic, but very comfortable and roomy, and extremely well equipped. From kitchen and cookware to washer and dryer, comfortable beds and plenty of linens, there was nothing wanting. Our host provided a fabulous place to get away from it all. We hope to come back again.

August 2019 Stay
There were six adults and one toddler staying at the cabin. The property was clean and met our expectations. The owner left us items to make s’mores which is did one night around the fire pit. The cabin is located not far from Traverse City and other fun spots such as Sleeping Bear Dunes. The boat added extra fun for getting around the lake. All-in-all, we had a wonderful vacation and will have many happy memories.

charming cottage on beautiful lake! Pontoon boat was a highlight!
Loved this property and we had a great time! It was immaculately clean and owner added little touches like spa robes and nice bathroom amenities. Kitchen was stocked well with pots and pans, utensils etc. Beautiful lawn and yard with beach area. Highlight of our trip was the pontoon boat- took it out several times a day to go swimming, sunset cruise or dock and watch other activities on the lake. The boat is very easy to use- owner showed us how and is great for families. Nice deck with BBQ grill and we ate out every night. The location was great and close to town. Her family market - Burritts - was great- fabulous meats and seafood plus any ingredient you could imagine. Also Meijer 5 mins away. Perfect for 4 adults, a couple of kids and a dog! Very relaxing! We would highly recommend!!!

Cozy cabin perfect for the family
Our family enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin. It was perfect for our two teenagers and our 3 year old niece. She was able to use the beach and wade out into the shallow water. Our hosts were wonderful and quickly responded to our texts. The s’mores we a nice surprise at our check in. I highly recommend this property and hosts thank you for making our vacation so special.

Amazing vacation at a superb cabin!
Our family of five (3 children 5 and under) had an outstanding vacation in the Traverse City area thanks to the exceptionally organized and clean cabin. The owners met us upon arrival and walked us through the property, showing us everything we needed to know. If needed, they were easy to contact for any questions while we were staying. The s'mores supplies provided were a thoughtful touch. The cabin was very clean and well organized; great to have starter paper supplies provided, clean/fresh linens, and comfortable beds! Kitchen was well stocked and cooking/grilling was a breeze. The fire pit, sand beach and dock were great for outside activities, as was the pontoon which was used everyday at the cabin. Our family loved taking boat rides around the lake and finding sandbars where we could swim! We also loved the proximity to Traverse City and the surrounding area activities. Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leenenau peninsula, and Old Mission peninsula are a must for families. This was our second trip to Traverse City and plan to come back again next year!

Beautiful cabin, great location!
My family and I had an amazing time staying in the cabin! It was so peaceful and is a beautiful property. Kurt and Emily met us there to show us around in the cabin. It was well stocked with all the little details. We loved having the pontoon boat to use at our convenience. We were on the lake everyday, I loved going on a boat ride in the evening. Our kids loved playing on the sandy area, and swimming in the lake. One of the best vacation rentals we've stayed at!

PERFECT PLACE FOR OUR FAMILY OF 5
Very Clean. Lovely owners who showed the well groomed property and the immaculately clean pontoon boat. Inside the cabin was a basket of s'mores ingredients for our family--very nice touch. I wish there was more than 1 bathroom for 5 people but we made it work. Great location on lake--very quiet. Great location in relation to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Mission Point Lighthouse, etc. We went to Moomers ice cream 4 times!!! Wonderful!! Drove to Mackinac Island- 2 hours away. We took chartered fishing boat from Traverse City. We recommend the General Store on the way to the lighthouse.. Definitely recommend.

Well maintained lake front log cabin
My family of 5 (kids 1, 11 and 14) and dog stayed here the 3rd week of June 2017. We were greeted in the very well maintained, clean cabin with music playing, fresh flowers, and a basket full of s'mores supplies for the fire. The kids and dog enjoyed swimming in the cove in front of the house and from the pontoon boat. The house is in a great location to take day trips while avoiding downtown TC traffic. We visited Suttons Bay, Northport, Leland, Crystal Mountain and of course Sleeping Bear Dunes. We also enjoyed ice cream, pie and shopping on Front Street in Traverse City. I would definitely rent this cabin again and highly recommend it!

Awesome cabin on beautiful lake
We stayed here the weekend before Memorial Day 2016. It's a super cute log cabin on a quiet, peaceful lake. Great porch off the back to drink coffee in the morning, nice fire pit, small sandy beach, clear water for view of the minnows. The cabin was clean, nice towels, comfortable for 5 adults and a baby. The beds were comfortable - I slept very soundly in the top bunk of the kids room and I'm a 40 something. Woke up to a great view of the lake everyone morning. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with. Everything went smooth which I appreciate when planning a vacation. The location is perfect for getting out to restaurants in Traverse City but coming back to the wilderness. Highly recommended!

Beautiful place to stay
Our family really enjoyed staying at your cabin. It had everything we needed and was perfect for our small children. They loved the bunk beds on the sleeping porch, playing in the sand and swimming in the water in front of the cabin. Having the water frontage protected by the peninsula made the property seem more private and kept boat traffic away. The water was crystal clear!!! The location made it a very easy drive into Traverse City as well.

True North.
My husband and I spent a blissful week at this wonderful cabin. I think the thing that surprised us the most was that although is is just minutes from shopping and restaurants, the location of the cabin itself feels very remote and peaceful. I prefer to be near shopping and restaurants, yet want to feel away from it all, this cabin delivers on both fronts. We kept saying to each other, "Can you believe this location?" The cabin has the complete Up North feel. Our first morning there we woke to the sound of the loons welcoming us to the lake. I went into the kitchen to make coffee and was excited to find a Michigan State Spartans mug waiting for me. I had my coffee, and classic "pie for breakfast" on the deck while watching the baby geese peck along the shoreline in front of the cabin. It was heavenly. During the day we did all things Northern Michigan, and came back in the evening to build a nice fire and watch the sun set. It was our best vacation in years, and we highly recommend this classic Up North cabin and the peaceful experience it offers. I must also mention the beds. I felt like Goldilocks, they were just right, and the bedding was super soft. We slept, as my husband says, like teenagers. The owner of the cabin was extremely responsive to all of my questions and emails. Very easy to deal with and accommodating. I also want to mention our favorite meal of the week. We went for the Sunday brunch at the Apache Trout Grill in Traverse. We're still talking about it, it was that good. Do not miss their prime rib or the sweet potato french toast. The cost was $19.95 for brunch, they definitely lost money on my visit....it was that good.

About the host

We love to travel and have done so extensively with our two children. We have logged over 20,000 miles in our RV while taking our children to all fifty states. Traverse City is still considered one of the most beautiful places in the country in our book. We always look forward to spending time at the cabin because it is such a cozy and peaceful place.

Why they chose this property

As a native of Traverse City, I grew up enjoying the lakes around the area. I was thrilled when Kurt and I had the chance to buy this log cabin. We worked hard to update it by adding modern amenities without losing the character and charm and that 'up-north' feel. It is just ten minutes to downtown Traverse City, yet you feel like you are away from it all. Traverse City offers such a great quality of life along with many wonderful local shops and restaurants to enjoy.

What makes this property unique

A quiet and peaceful setting on the East side of Silver Lake. Our favorite thing to do during our stay at the cabin is pack up a picnic lunch or evening appetizers and cruise around the lake on the pontoon boat. With the boat conveniently docked at the private sandy beach, there is little effort to enjoying the beauty of Silver Lake. This pristine, all sports lake, is the closest lake to Traverse City with easy access to everything. Our evenings usually consist of cooking delicious steaks or fresh fish from our family market, Burritt's Fresh Market while watching the fabulous sunsets. We love to end the evening with a campfire next to the lake listening to the frogs and loons. Life doesn't get any better than that!
