When we decided to take our two older kids (15 and 20) to Oahu for a bucket list trip, I spent a lot of time pouring over the rental options at VRBO and AirBnB. After our initial place fell through on AirBnB (they sold their place and gave us only a little over a month's notice to find a new place! Beware!) we discovered this gem, and after we stayed there we are SO THANKFUL that the other place fell through and we stayed here! It was far superior to the originally booked place and the other places we had considered. 1) The location was so much better. Instead of being on a high traffic road, this house is located in Waialua which is a few minutes from Haleʻiwa, on the North Shore, so it was a very quiet residential area with direct access to the beach, no crossing a busy highway to get there! But it's also nearby grocery stores and restaurants, so it was really convenient as a home base. 2) It boasts a hot tub and pool, which was great in the early mornings and at the end of the day after a day swimming at the beach or sight-seeing! 3) The balcony overlooking the beach is fantastic! Every day a fabulous sunrise and sunset to watch, not to mention the sounds and breeze from the ocean at all times! 4) The home was decorated beautifully and was outfitted with a great kitchen, comfortable beds and updated appliances. We really felt at home here. 5) And above all the host, Pat, was fantastic! I firmly believe that a good rental experience comes mainly from a great host. Pat communicated with us so well before our trip and during our stay. She answered all of our questions, gave us great suggestions for restaurants and sight-seeing and went out of her way to make sure our stay was a pleasant one. You can tell she puts a lot of energy into making sure the property is well cared for and maintained. Thanks, Pat! We hope to come back again!!
