About Owner/Manager

After retiring from a 33 year career in sales management/ marketing, we visited our oldest daughter Etta and fell in love with Asheville. We moved to the Asheville Area in 2002 and lived in the house that became our first rental, “Our House.” (We built a cabin on the property and moved into it). Soon to follow, came our youngest daughter, Farris, and her now husband Danny. In 2009 their daughter Alyssa arrived and in 2015 Haley was born, making this a true family business.

Owner/Manager purchased this house in 2002

Why Owner/Manager chose Fairview

We fell in love with Asheville and all it has to offer. We then decided to share the beauty of the Asheville Area and the hospitality of the Smokey Mountains with others. “Our House” and “My Roundette” were on the property when we originally bought it. Both have since been remodeled. We then purchased additional land and built “My Place,” “The Huntley,” and “The Garden Cabin.” “Log Gap” and “Prayer Ridge” were both bought at separate, more remote locations. Both were extensively remodeled.

What makes this house unique

The benefit of staying at “The Cove at Fairview” is the unique experience. Each home offers you a different experience in small ways – outdoor fireplaces, swinging beds, and a fifty mile view are just a few. Also, enjoy waterfalls, Koi Ponds, a Lotus Pond, horses, chickens (enjoy fresh eggs), donkeys, goats, native plants, & flower gardens.

By staying here, you are nestled into all of the beautiful natural settings in this peaceful cove.

While being very private and close to nature, you are still afforded all of the conveniences of technology and are located near all this area has to offer. Truly a place to come and renew yourself. Kick back, relax, and have a true retreat or a wonderful place to land after an exhausting day of fun (downtown is only 15 minutes away).

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks for a wonderful week at “Our House!” Our 50th anniversary was special to be here & share it with our family.

Everything we needed

  • 5 of 5

This house had everything my group of 9 guys needed. It was a great size and the house had all of the amenities we needed. We weren't in the house much over the weekend but when we were we were satisfied. It's a 15-20 minute drive to downtown which wasn't bad. All in all, it was a great stay and I would recommend it.

We loved this property! Amazing grounds! Great Owner! Farm Animals!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay here. The grounds were amazing and Mr Frank was awesome! We all really enjoyed the farm animals and fresh eggs as well. The landscaping on the hill was wonderful. We spent some time out there enjoying the weather, the sound of the water and the beautiful view. We also had an Easter egg hunt for our kids (they loved it!). It was easy to get to the property - no steep roads and was close to Asheville. We only had 2 minor issues - 1. the bathroom door in the basement. It really sticks and my niece and my daughter got stuck in there and needed an adult to pry open the door. 2. the charcoal is stored on the deck and it must have gotten damp so it wouldn't light - maybe better to store it in the utility room? We would love to stay at this property again!

Great stay!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay on our girls weekend. Plenty of beds and lots of neat features like repurposed wood from an old barn as well as a game room and a nice view. Frank is super nice and provided us with fresh eggs as well as freshly baked bread. Wonderful weekend!

Fantastic mountain cabin, perfect for our needs.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great weekend at the cabin. All of the amenities promised were in perfect working order. The owner was very responsive and was able to meet us at the beginning of our stay for a tour. We appreciated the unique aspects of this cabin including fresh eggs, open fireplaces, and the pool table. Would recommend highly to those coming to this area.

A little piece of heaven at The Cove

  • 5 of 5

We loved everything about our stay at The Cove. The house had everything we could need & more. The grounds were amazing. The waterfalls were beautiful & very peaceful, as well as the fish ponds. We loved having a picnic out by the water. The farm fresh eggs were amazing. The fresh baked bread & local honey were outstanding that was at the house upon our arrival. We enjoyed the beauty & peacefulness of The Cove. The Dixon’s thought of everything to make sure you feel right at home & we did! We enjoyed watching the farm animals. We fed carrots to the horses, goats, and donkeys. We ventured out to Asheville & the surrounding area. The Looking Glass Creamery was great if you’re a cheese lover. Hickory Nut Farms was another great place we went. Frank arranged horseback riding there for us with Mrs. Annie & she was great!! I could go on & on about The Cove. We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary there. We will definitely return.

Beautiful Property

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Fairview. The house and the property are really beautiful. The fresh eggs and homemade bread was a lovely added touch, as were feeding the horses, donkeys, and goats. We really enjoyed the koi ponds as well.
