About Brea Gratia & David Robinson
In 2000 I had plans to move to Asheville from Houston. Events in my life changed those plans. My draw to Asheville did not change. I continued to think about living there, but knew that with my business in Houston, that I could not leave. It was suggested that I purchase a home and spend a lot of time in Asheville. That sounded good to me. So in 2006 I purchased my chalet. As I thought about it sitting empty for long periods of time, I decided it was better to share it. At that time, I did not know the term 'vacation rental'. I did some investigating and found out how to do it. I also found that I loved sharing my beautiful chalet with others.

Why Brea Gratia & David Robinson chose Fairview
I love Asheville. It brings joy to my heart to be in the mountains. Asheville has everything and the best part is that nothing is extreme. The weather is not extreme, the mountains are not extreme. It is gentle, inviting and there is plenty of variety in things to do here. You can hike (my favorite), fish, golf, shop, eat, sight-see, go on adventures, see wildlife, swim, be a kid again at Sliding Rock, ride your motorcycle on the Blue Ridge and on and on.
What makes this Chalet unique
I love staying at Chalet Quietude. It is cool in the summer and cozy in the winter. Butterflies and humming birds love it there too. The location is beautiful and the mountain is covered with forest. Driving up to the chalet in summer, you wonder where the other home are. It is so close to town, yet just far enough away. I named it Chalet Quietude because it is so quiet here. The day I purchased it, I could hear nothing - not a mower, not a dog, not a siren, no traffic - NOTHING...just the QUIETUDE. The quietude surrounds you and you just might forget you have a home to return to! That's how I feel - 'It is the life' and when I am there, I don't want to go home.

This house is true to its name, it was exceedingly quiet. Nice hot tub, 20 min to Asheville, would definitely stay again! Great communication from the property owner.
Thank you for taking time to write such a kind review. It was my pleasure to have your family stay at my "Chalet Quietude". Yes, I chose the name because all I could hear when I purchased the home was "quiet". Getting around the area is easy because it is so centrally located to all the adventure one could want. I hope you bring your sweet family again. Thank you again for choosing Chalet Quietude for your family vacation. Brea
Perfect Mountain Getaway
Planned a last minute trip for our first time to Asheville. Wanted the nature experience, but also wanted to be close to the city. Had our cake and ate it too. And Brea is super organized and helpful. Zero stress.
Billy - thank you so much for taking time to say something so kind. I'm happy you loved the "cake"!!!! I hope you always think of us when traveling to the area. I would love to have you come stay again. Brea
Great spot for a quiet getaway!
Chalet Quietude couldn't have been better! The house is in a private setting, but close enough to downtown to easily grab dinner or stop by the Biltmore Estate. The hot tub and fireplace are great amenities as well. Make sure to get up early once or twice to catch a memorable sunrise!
Andrew - now you have a place to get away from your busy life. I hope you come often. It was our pleasure to have you come stay. I know you got to experience the "after the snowfall" on the mountain. It is a beautiful site for sure. Thanks once again for coming and for taking time to write a fabulous review. Brea
Amazing Anniversary Getaway
Asheville, NC is beautiful. Chalet Quietude just adds to the beauty. From the time we arrived until we left, we soaked in the comfort, the feeling of being taken care of at Chalet Quietude. A five star stay. The chalet was beautifully decorated, well-appointed from linens and kitchen items to wood for the fireplace. You MUST have a fire in the winter. Brea, the owner has a book full of how-tos that made our stay so much better - trust me, lighting a fire or starting a grill that is not yours is different. Thank you Brea! The hot tub was great late on a cold evening looking down on the lights in the valley. And the sunrises were glorious. An amazing mountain view! Brea called in the morning after we arrived and mentioned a local breakfast place The Local Joint. - you have to try their homemade jams & preserves, delicious. We took day trips to the Parkway, rediscovered Asheville, enjoyed an amazing grilled lemon brussel sprouts dish at the Holiday Inn restaurant- that's a secret treasure. All in all, a wonderful anniversary trip. We are considering trying Brea's other properties, because Chalet Quietude was a winner.
Amazing Guests!!! WOW, that's a 5-star review. Thank you so much. It was my pleasure to have you come stay and I certainly hope you do try our other properties. They are all different and "fun", equally comfortable and in great locations with a view and hot tubs. Thanks again for the review, your reservation and being such fabulous guests. Brea
So beautiful and aptly named!
We were so pleased with how peaceful and quiet this place was that we never went into Asheville. Didn't want to disturb the vibe of just plain quiet. Owners go above and beyond to make everything perfect.
Sandy - Thanks so much for the review. The day I purchased the chalet, I stood on the deck and all I could hear was "the quietude". I never had to think about what to name the place - it was so peaceful. I totally know what you mean by not going anywhere, but just hanging out in the mountains at "the Quietude". When I still lived in Houston and would visit Chalet Quietude for a week at a time, I, like you, could not leave the chalet - did not want to disturb the vibe of just plain quiet. Thanks so much Sandy - Brea
Great cabin in the woods
We loved the peace and quiet during our stay. Awesome view. Close to Asheville and Blue Ridge Parkway.
Thanks so much James! We are happy that you loved your stay at Chalet Quietude. Now you know why it is named "quietude". I personally love being at the chalet and the peace is something I believe everyone needs from time to time. Glad you found it easy to get to Asheville - it's only 15 or so minutes away. So you get the best of both worlds, the city and the mountains. Thanks again and we look forward to another visit from you. Brea
