Overview

About the property

Apartment, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

Nestled In the Cape Cod National Seashore, enjoy this secluded cottage style apartment; only 0.2 (two tenths) of a mile from Coast Guard Beach. Another mile north along Ocean View Drive you will find Nauset Light, and the Three Sisters Lighthouses. A European Copper Beach Tree welcomes you to our home and offers shade on a hot day. A rose covered rock wall gives a feeling of Cape Cod so many years ago. Guests can walk to the beach, go for hikes, bike rides, or kayak adventures nearby. The interior of the apartment has a living room with an antique-style, cast-iron stove for off season warmth. Three large windows gives an open roomy effect. There is basic Antenna TV with limited channels. The kitchen is completely functional and has a new gas stove and a new over the stove microwave. There is also a kitchen table and chairs. The bath on the first floor includes a stackable washer/dryer. Two small bedrooms upstairs, each has a double/full-size bed. There is NO air conditioning but fans are provided in each bedroom, and most often, there is a cool offshore breeze and plenty of shade.

There is a small patio with a gas grill, and a small, rather private deck which includes an outside shower.

Very nearby is a bike trail that leads to The Salt Pond Visitors Center just a mile up the road. Here one may find natural resources and information, as well as organized canoe or kayak adventures (in season), and a great little gift shop.

Options within a mile or two are too many to list; but a few are: An Athletic Club, Drive In Theatre, Movie Theater, Wildlife Sanctuaries, Famous Cape Cod Flea Market, Golf, Tennis courts and more. Please come and enjoy the natural surroundings and/or tourist attractions of the cape.

About Suzanne Schwebach

My husband, Daniel and I moved into this home in 1996. Prior to us it was in the family since the early 1970's when my brother, a sea captain bought this home and brought it back to life. We have raised our 3 sons here, and tried to make it a friendly, welcoming, peaceful place to visit.

Suzanne Schwebach purchased this apartment in 1995

Why Suzanne Schwebach chose Cape Cod

Actually, this is our home, and we really enjoy meeting people and sharing what we have with others.

A week by the beach

  • 5 of 5

What a cute little apartment by the beach! We are a family of 4, kids are 3 and 4 and we couldn't have asked for a nicer vacation near the seashore. Located right in the National Seashore, a quick 5-10 minute walk to coast guard beach, this is a really cute place to stay while you enjoy Cape Cod. The cottage style apartment is equipped with everything you need to feel right at home on vacation. Everything from kitchen utensils, to coffee maker, to appliances. We definitely needed and used the washer dryer on this trip! The owners went out of their way to be welcoming and make sure we had everything. We could walk to the beach to watch the seals and jump in the waves. It's also a quick drive to the bay side to enjoy First Encounter Beach which was perfect for little kids during low tide. The Nauset lighthouse is about a mile away which made for a great morning run and also a fun family excursion to the top. (Tours in the late afternoon- check the schedule.) Arnold's was a classic takeaway place with mini golf and great fried food. Close by. The chocolate cafe is also close and has a purple truck that comes to the beaches and has the best ice cream sandwiches. Not to be missed. If you're hikers, I'd recommend the Marconi swamp trail which has boardwalks and an easy trail for little kids. Really an ideal location, sweet beach house and warm welcoming hosts.

Great property in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We've rented this cottage twice. It's clean, neat and well-equipped and wonderfully located just a short walk from one of the nicest beaches in Cape Cod. The owners are friendly and helpful and they take great pride in their property. We've referred friends to this place and will definitely return here the next time we can.

Perfect vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed here several years in a row -- each vacation better than the last! For us, this place offers the best of the Cape: wonderful owners, great accomodations, easy access to restaurants, theaters, art galleries, balanced by the serenity and privacy of this "cottage". There is nothing like coming from a wonderful morning at the hot beach to the shaded privacy of your own little patio where there is almost always a breeze. My husband and I feel this place is perfect for the two of us. We highly recommend it -- unless, of course, you want to try to come during our weeks !

One of the best vacations we ever had. Restful, Interesting and Delightful place to recharge.

  • 5 of 5

Our time on the Cape was one of the most wonderful weeks we ever spent. The accomodations were perfect. Clean, airy and cozy, it was a tremendous place to base our adventures, both walking and driving. We walked to the beach every day, and we had a ball ! Great beach, easy walk. You couldn't ask for more. In the evening, it was the perfect jumping off spot to anywhere on the Cape. Centrally located, we were able to get anywhere with a minimum of driving time. Suzy and Dan were the perfect hosts. Friendly, warm and welcoming, we felt like family within minutes of arriving. I can't imagine a more perfect spot for basing a vacation. We actually stayed right in the National Seashore. You can't do better than that ! Truly a tremendous vacation, a wonderful rental, a beautiful location and experienced and welcoming host and hostess! A vacation that will be with our entire family for ever !
