Why Caron Miller chose Santa Barbara

Best location to downtown and the beach. It's really in the heartland of active part of Santa Barbara that includes theatre, great dining, great museums and shopping. You really don't need a car if you stay at this location. Very safe neighborhood and quiet.

What makes this house unique

We upgraded the front unit in 2012 adding another unit to our location, which is great if 2 couples or 2 family groups want to be close but not in the same space. Front unit has amazing patio, middle unit has great garden area to hang in, read and enjoy an amazing succulent garden with water features and cozy furniture. Each unit have their own VRBO number.

This place is impeccably clean; the level of standards and attention to special details that are kept by the owners makes this place so special.

Caron & Doug: We could not stop talking about how great of a time we had in Santa Barbara, much of which was made possible by the two of you and your fantastic rental. We stayed three days/nights and it was absolutely what we were looking for in terms of location (so close to State Street and all of its amenities), comfort (we were in the middle unit and it was just the right size for a couple on vacation plus being such a cool layout) and enjoyment (we thoroughly loved hanging out with the two of you along with appreciating how you provided advice on places, ideas for entertainment, and laughter all along the way.) Highly, highly recommend this for anyone visiting as the hosts are top-notch in treating guests with just the right touch. Santa Barbara allowed us to spend time outdoors each morning (great kayaking, hiking, biking and walking) along with fun adventures (shopping, eating, drinking, etc.) each afternoon. The location could not be prettier or more convenient! All the convenience of being in the heart of downtown with the feeling of being secluded in your own private sanctuary. Everything was beautiful and immaculate. Such a fabulous weekend for my husband's birthday! Thanks so much Caron and Doug!

A perfect place

Staying in Santa Barbara at Caron and Doug’s place is highly recommended and an experience not to miss. Like a 3-star restaurant it is worth the trip itself:) Great location, of tourists and still close to everything. The cozy house and garden has true character and quickly brings out your inner calm. Caron and Doug are the most fantastic hosts and know every little gem and restaurant to visit in Santa Barbara. Absolutely the best house we ever rented.

Terrific Santa Barbara Getaway

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed here. We came back a second time because we love it. It's a block away from State Street, so we ended up not driving all 4 days we stayed.

The unit is appointed very well. If you like color, warmth, quaintness, and want to live for a little while in a bit of historic coastal California, then this is the place for you. I hope to return.

Relaxing, special, peaceful place

This is the second time my husband and I stayed on this property. First time we stayed in the bigger unit facing the front. We decided to stay in the back unit this time, and it has its own unique charm. The back unit opens up to the lovely patio, which is a relaxing garden oasis. The unit itself is bright colorful with designer finishes. The location is awesome, walking distance to delicious restaurants and downtown Santa Barbara. The kitchen is well stocked, you can easily whip up some homemade food with all the equipment provided. We loved using the bikes that are provided, biking to downtown Santa Barbara, and also easy ride to the beach and waterfront.

Caron and Doug are very friendly hosts. They also give great recommendations around the area should you need it. Last year, I forgot a piece of clothing and Caron promptly mailed it back to me. We look forward to staying there again for another relaxing and magical Santa Barbara stay.

Mother/Daughter Vacation

My daughter and I spent two nights in this charming home and loved it! Caron and Doug were wonderful hosts. It was nice to be greeted with hugs and home made bread and they have thought of all the little details to make you feel like you are in a "home away from home". We were in the front unit and enjoyed being able to sit on the front porch with our wine. The location too is perfect with its close proximity to State Street so we could walk everywhere and they gave us great restaurant recommendations which we enjoyed. We will definitely stay there again the next time we are in Santa Barbara.

Walking to town, only one block away. Great dining, shopping, hike trails are very close. We provide bicycles to cruise around town along with beach chairs and umbrellas to enjoy at the beach. We are in a residential/commercial area that is tucked away and quiet. Amazing patio with nice art and plantings. Also have a fire pit for evenings outside under the stars.
