Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

We were planning on spending the whole summer up here but our plans have changed...which means we now have lots of availability for renters! If you are looking to get away from it all and enjoy a serene and quiet retreat, our home is perfect.

Quiet cove, wooded lot, great lakefront location...approximately 7-8 feet of water at dock.

Adults, kids and dogs love our location.

Swim in our cove, fish off the dock, moor your boat or jet ski on our dock, paddle in our two-person kayak, or just enjoy a meal or cocktails on the screened porch.

We are approximately 1 hour & 45 minutes from downtown Atlanta and 1 hour from Greenville.

All the bedrooms can be closed off for privacy and kids’ earlier bedtimes. The cabin comfortably sleeps 8 (1 King, 1 Queen, and 2 bunk beds).

The outdoor area includes a fire pit, picnic table and charcoal grill.

A gentle slope takes you down to the dock and shallow kids’ play area. We are also very close to the big water if you bring your own boat or Jet ski.

The cabin is five minutes by car from Carter's Ferry Boat Ramp, 10 miles (20 minutes)to historic downtown Hartwell, and 9 miles to Hartwell Marina.

There is a fully refundable security deposit of $500 if no damage. The housekeeping fee is $95. We do welcome pets with a flat fee of $25 per pet.

About The Owner

We bought this cabin so that our little girls would have an escape from the city to experience nature and the country. After purchasing the house, we quickly renovated it, adding the living room and master bedroom so that we could have friends and family stay with us.

We hope that you will enjoy our cabin as much as we do!

The Owner purchased this house in 2005

Why The Owner chose Hartwell Lake

Lake Hartwell has the unique combination of easy accessibility to major metropolitan areas and a quiet, remote location. Even on major holidays, such as July 4th, you feel like the lake is your private playground since there are so few people!

What makes this house unique

We love our quiet cove! There is no need to worry about jetski or boat traffic near our dock so kids can swim and relax without worries.

The gently graded and short walk from our house to our dock makes the transport of coolers, towels and supplies an easy task.

Our lot is wooded so you have lots of privacy.

We renovated and decorated our home for a lakeside feel with fishing prints and country antiques. We love to cook so our newly renovated kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to make a memorable meal!

The wood-burning fireplace makes for a cozy getaway in the Fall and Winter as well.

Owner is a licensed realtor in Georgia.

Perfect Spot!

  • 4 of 5

The pictures of the place don't do it justice. It is nicely decorated, very spacious, and the perfect size for what we needed! You were able to be by the lake but feel like your are in a quiet deluded, wooded spot. The price was just right and worth every penny:)

Loved this great cabin tucked away in the woods on a private lake cove. The owners are very responsive and easy to work with. Will go back again.

Great home, Great Lake Location, Really Enjoyed Our Stay

  • 5 of 5

This was a great rental property. We really enjoyed our stay and boating on Lake Hartwell. Comfortable cottage/home with an open floor plan. Master is on one end of house and other 2 bedrooms on the other end of the house. Very clean and as described. King-sized bed in Master and Queen or Full in 2nd bedroom were very comfortable. The 2 sets of bunk beds in the 3rd room were not quite comfortable for our college-aged sons, but they were typical bunk beds, intended for younger kids. Internet, Direct TV, Washer/Dryer and A/C worked great. We enjoyed going out on Lake Hartwell to ski and tube with a boat we rented nearby and docked at the rental. We also enjoyed the quiet location to swim off the dock. We went to Tallulah Falls (about an hour or so away) to hike in the gorge and slide down Sliding Rock and traveled a bit on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We got haircuts in Hartwell (see Connie at Depot Designs) and ordered a fabulous cake from Market 50 for a birthday celebration. Nice restaurants are not nearby but Market 50 has a fabulous deli for lunch. We grilled or cooked most nights and went into Anderson one evening for dinner. Stephanie (owner) was very easy to work with. She answered all our questions, was flexible and very personable. It's unusual to find a nice place we can bring our dog. Since we stayed for 11 nights, we really wanted a place we could bring our dog rather than kennel him. Everything worked out great. The only slight inconvenience was having to go to the local transfer station to dump our trash, The transfer station is very close, you just have to time it so you can take your trash when the transfer station is open (open everyday but Sunday). Thanks, Stephanie!
