About Richard Alexander

My son Devon and I own Kays Kabin. We live in Chattanooga Tn. My late mother Kaye Perry bought this property in 1998. In Dec. 2007 we tore down the'old' cabin and had Rocky Mtn. Builders-Adam Gilreath and Chris Steele build this new one.I highley recommend them as they are my good friends now. We have a tile business so we were able to do lots of work ourselves. This is our 'Dream Cabin' that we visit at least once a month, with our family and friends. When I try to tell people about Suches, it's hard to put it into words. This place is special, the people are unbelievably friendly. Everyone who comes here loves it and wants to come back. We hope you will too. Thanks for your inquiry! Richard

What makes this cabin unique

The Cabin benefits: Appalachian Trail just out the front door. The Hammock, I can't explain it, you just have to experience it yourself. Memories made around

'The Fire Pit', and early morning coffee while gazing at the fish are unique benefits that our cabin offers.

Beautiful cabin, the perfect mountain get away

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cabin. Beautiful woodwork throughout. My daughters loved the bear shower and the rainfall shower head...a unique luxury for a log cabin. The cabin is well outfitted with all the amenities you need. My family of 5 slept very comfortably. We enjoyed the fire pit and the overall outdoor woods feel of the community. I recommend grocery shopping prior to your arrival because you are in the mountains and it takes awhile to drive anywhere. There is a gas station/convenience store minutes away, but they have just the bare essentials. The cabin was a perfect location for us. We travelled to Helen, Dahlonega and Clayton. We went white water river rafting in Clayton, tubed in Helen and went to see the amazing Anna Ruby Falls. The falls were an easy hike for the family. We look forward to our next visit to Kays Kabin. Thank you Richard, you were great!

Clean, affordable, updated cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Kay's kabin. Spent the weekend for a girls trip/bachelorette party, plenty of space and very clean and had everything we needed. We did wine tastings at the wineries one day and the drive was a little longer than we thought but wasn't that bad. One of the queen beds was very squeaky and you could hear every toss and turn but otherwise comfortable. The owner was very accommodating and answered all questions quickly. Would definitely stay again!!

Relaxing mountain getaway

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed Kay's Kabin, our home away from home. It had every amenity we needed and we really appreciated how clean it was and the care that went into every detail of the cabin. Evening marshmallow roasts in the fire pit and the relaxing hammock made it the perfect mountain getaway. The location was a bit of a mountain drive to some of the nearby tourist towns like Helen (or major grocery stores), but that is to be expected in the mountains. Vogel state park and Helton falls were about 25 minutes and Brasstown Bald is about 40 minutes, a definite must if staying here. There was a local dog who came up to the cabin every morning and sniffed out our Goldendoodle, not sure who he belonged to (the lady he was walking with said he wasn't hers when we asked her if she could call him back), so we just took our doodle back inside the cabin. Another neighborhood dog chased our car down the main road on one occasion, we were actually concerned he was going to get hit. Richard was very helpful in providing details of the area and a pleasure to work with. We really loved the cabin, and hope to go back again sometime.

Great time and beautiful cabin

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 had a wonderful week at the cabin. It is beautiful, spacious, and has all of the amenities needed. The kids loved the fish pond and path. It is very peaceful and relaxing yet close to other places of interest. Swimming at Lake Winfield Scott and Vogel State Park are a short drive. The fish hatchery, creek fishing, gem mining, and the Toccoa River Swinging Bridge are not too far either. So many options.

Peace and quiet in the trees.

  • 5 of 5

We had a family vacation (3 generations). The cabin was beautiful, and the surroundings calming. The cabin was equipped with everything anyone could need and very clean. We had some rainy days but it was SO restful to sit on the porch and listen to the rain. I would suggest taking ALL foods needed as the nearest 'real' grocery store was over 1/2 hour away. Nowhere is 'close', but while staying at the cabin we enjoyed fishing, swimming at lake Winfield and inner tubing down a river, as well as an afternoon/evening in Helen. The mountain roads are not for the faint of heart, but the scenery was breath taking. We would definitely return and recommend to family and friends.
