About Richard - Owner/Manager
My wife and I have lived in North Georgia since 1989. The mountains have always held a special place for us. We found our special Edelweiss Cabin in 2014 and now have this remarkable cabin to share.
Richard - Owner/Manager purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why Richard - Owner/Manager chose Suches
There are a lot of mountain cabins to choose from. Many are rustic and have a mountain feel, but few are actually on the river and border National Forest. Being located across the river from Highway 60, helps the cabin be quiet and have an isolated feeling. We have put a lot of upgrades into the property, to enhance your visit.
What makes this Cabin unique
What makes our Edelweiss Cabin unique is the very homey feel you experience in this cabin. It is large enough to be a full sized home, and the furnishings and décor will make you feel as though you are at home. All of the modern amenities are there, but in a very quiet, deep woods atmosphere.

The cabin was great!
This was just what we were looking for in a cabin. The owner Richard is a great guy and very accommodating. They take really great care of the place!!
our stay at the cabin
We really enjoyed the cabin and property. It was very homey and well stocked with everything we needed.
Awesome cabin on river!
We loved staying at your cabin. Exactly as described and the kitchen was well stocked. Richard gave us great advice on several sights. I think we enjoyed the falls the most. We had 3 adults and 4 children, there was plenty of room for all. Despite all the rain we had a very delightful stay.
Amazing cabin right on the Toccoa River!
Thank you Richard for sharing your wonderful cabin with us! We had an amazing 5 nights, and will be back again. The cabin is well stocked, just bring plenty of food and drinks and plan on bringing water shoes for the river. So much to do in the area, we ran out of time! Went horseback riding in the blue ridge mountains, hiked for hours behind the cabin, visited the “swinging bridge”, went to Sea Creek Falls and toured the underground gold mines at Consolidated Mining Co! We had so much fun lazing in the tubes right outside the cabin. If you walk to the end of the street, you can hop into the river and take a fun tube ride back to the cabin. Everything exceeded our expectations! Can’t wait to come back again next year! Richard is amazing, always answers your calls with any questions you may have. Top notch!
Seclusion and Perfect for a large family or group!
We had the best time at the Toccoa River Cabin! It was very private, which my husband loved. We traveled with 5 kids. The layout was perfect for us. The boys stayed downstairs, the girls upstairs, and my husband and I on the main floor. We did not lack for anything as they had everything we needed. What I loved most about this cabin was the river. We drove over to Deep Hole State Park and left a vehicle. You could literally put in on river tubes at the cabin and tube down to the state park. It was roughly a 3 hour tube ride. Watch your butt on rocks though. I told the kids to go feet first, and we had a blast! There are several waterfalls nearby. The first one we went to was Sea Creek Falls. The walk was not bad. We were able to carry a cooler, so we stayed most of the afternoon. Watch for rattlesnakes! The next day we went tubing at Toccoa River Company. $10 each handles your shuttle, tube, and life jacket. After there, we went to Fall Branch Falls. The walk was a little harder, but the waterfall was beautiful. We would definitely stay here again, and are looking forward to in the near future. My recommendations would be, when you get to the cabin, turn the air down and make sure the ceiling fan is on. The upstairs gets hot. We had so much fun, we didn't even turn the TV on! Two kayaks and two river tubes were provided, as well as a hot tub overlooking the river. It is worth noting that the drive up there gets very windy after Dahlonega. If you have any children who get car sick, go ahead and put them up front. We can't wait to go back!
Very beautiful and relaxing getaway
We enjoyed everything. The cabin is nice and cozy and equipped with everything needed to enjoy your stay. We had a beautiful view of the river. Its a wonderful place to relax and enjoy quality time with family. Owners were always available and helpful.
