About Richard - Owner/Manager
My wife and I have lived in North Georgia since 1989. The mountains have always held a special place for us. We found our special Edelweiss Cabin in 2014 and now have this remarkable cabin to share.
Richard - Owner/Manager purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why Richard - Owner/Manager chose Suches
There are a lot of mountain cabins to choose from. Many are rustic and have a mountain feel, but few are actually on the river and border National Forest. Being located across the river from Highway 60, helps the cabin be quiet and have an isolated feeling. We have put a lot of upgrades into the property, to enhance your visit.
What makes this Cabin unique
What makes our Edelweiss Cabin unique is the very homey feel you experience in this cabin. It is large enough to be a full sized home, and the furnishings and décor will make you feel as though you are at home. All of the modern amenities are there, but in a very quiet, deep woods atmosphere.

It's an awesome getaway location.
The property is clean and welcoming. The owner/manager is friendly and desires that renters have a joyful experience. We will be renting again in the future.
Peaceful setting, beautiful wood cabin, kids had a blast.
Wonderful time, even though short. Richard worked with us on a that short notice and made it happen. Everything you need is there, beds were comfortable, amenities were abundant, ie tv & internet, kitchen items, on site laundry, parking, interior space for all. Kids played in the stream and used the onsite tubes provided for a days worth of adventure. The tree swing was a hit. Loved the views from kitchen, the wrap around deck, overall seclusion and comfortable setting in the home. Great memories!
Clean, peaceful, great view of the river
The cabin was very clean, well stocked and comfortable. It was our first stay in the mts. We enjoyed the river beside the cabin. The kids enjoyed the kayaks that were provided and we done a little panning for gold and was lucky to find a couple flakes. (Great experuence) also had a good time at the local crisson gold mine in dehlonga and the apple orchard. Will go back for sure. Thanks richard for giving us the chance to make some (first time) memories.
cabin on the river
Cabin is very comfortable. The back porch is secure so my dog could be out with me without being tethered. The steps down to river was a real plus for fishing. The river is deep enough to warrant chest waders. The cabin is a short drive to the trout release area of the river. We enjoyed our week in the mountains.
Great location and cabin! Enjoyed every minute of our stay!
This place was perfect! We evacuated Wilmington NC due to Hurricane Florence and found his place at midnight the night before we decided to leave. The host Richard is amazing the cabin was amazing the area couldn’t have been a better place to evacuate to! We will definitely be going back only under better circumstances.
Beautiful, relaxing, peaceful
We were up for a fishing weekend for my husband's birthday. The house and surroundings are lovely. It's very welcoming, like coming home to visit family. It's really well stocked. The wifi and TV worked great for us. We didn't even use the downstairs but it looked great for a larger group or kids. The owners were so accommodating and kind. They gave many suggestions, answered any questions, and were so pleasant to work with. We would def recommend and would go back in a heartbeat!
