Wonderful

Spacious yes cozy feeling home with a great view. Very clean and well stocked with any items we might need to cook with. Relaxing in the hot tub and enjoying the beautiful view of the water was my favorite part of this stay. Nothing short of wonderful.

Soak in the Views

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I with our 3 grown children stayed here for a long weekend. Everything we needed to be comfortable was in the home. The kids cooked for us during this weekend and they had no complaints about not having everything they needed in the kitchen. And outside the home was amazing. Most of the time was spent on the back deck soaking in the views. The view is absolutely beautiful! My only suggestion would be to stay longer then a 3 day weekend. We did get up to Mt. Constitution and also did a kayaking tour, went to a local brewery which was a fun spot. Definitely would have liked to have more time, however, to explore more of the islands.

Lovely for a family getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a terrific time for our week away - the house was immaculate, the location was ideal- it's about 15 minutes away from Eastsound and about 20-25 minutes to Moran State Park. We went hiking every day on the island and often went to Cascade lake for swimming afterward. Our family of two adults, 2 kids ages 7 and 10 and my mother (an active senior in her late 70's) had a fantastic time. We ate in almost every night, the kitchen is great to cook in and the grill works beautifully too. We used the hot tub every night - the view is to die for!!! I got up most mornings to see the sunrise. I felt like I was in a special tree house watching the birds, the deer and looking for sea life. The neighborhood is very quiet with only a few houses nearby. I agree that the terrain would not lend itself well to bicycle riding or running directly from or to the house given the steepness. I also would caution this for people with very small children if the parents were staying in the master which is one flight up - though the other bedroom is ideally located across from the bunkbed room. My daughters loved the bunkbeds! I strongly recommend this house for the comfort, the view and the location!

Nice house, but a so so location with terrible mean neighbors.

  • 2 of 5

The house itself has great views and a great back deck. It's laid out well and pretty ideal in itself.

The neighbors sour the experience though and we wouldn't stay here again because of it. The one man across the street would seem to get drunk nightly and yell at us from his porch about the most random stuff. He swore violently at our friend Danielle because he thought she broke the 15mph speed limit. The neighbors next door were also very unpleasant.

The house would be great in another location and with better beds/linens.

Owner's Response: We were shocked to hear of your troubles with the neighbor. In the seven years we have had the home we have never had a complaint and several people said the neighbors were friendly and helpful. I asked the neighbor, who is NOT a drinker, and he said he had words with your party about irresponsible driving and dogs running loose. He was concerned about his little grandson who was visiting. We are very sorry this incident spoiled your vacation.

Anniversary vacation

  • 5 of 5

This home is perfect for a couple, a family or friends who want to immerse themselves in Orcas island living. It is 30 minutes from the ferry but only 15 from Eastsound. The view is spectacular and the wildlife is an everyday delight. We had the local deer around several times a day - they weren't timid but we didn't encourage eating out of our hands. Eagles were frequent visitors as were sighting of dahl porpoises and seals from the deck. There is lots of room in the home the kitchen is extremely well equipped and functional for more than one cook in the kitchen. Though it was summer the hot tub got used daily at least once. We made several forays to Buck Bay Shellfish farm and brought home fresh spot prawns, crab, and clams to enjoy for dinners on the deck. The location is central for exploring the island by car, though we wouldn't recommend bicycling from the property as the hills are severe and it is 15 min. to a main road. The house was also very clean and well kept. If Orcas is your destination - this house is worth investigating!
