Adorable cabin, conveniently located close to everything. Clean, comfy, quiet. Easy check-in. Snacks, waters, & wine provided by owner were a lovely touch. Birdsong from front sitting area was delightful! Extra bedroom (not needed this time) & washer/dryer are helpful. Truly, couldn't have been better. I am a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother born and raised in the panhandle of Florida who loves the western NC mountains.

This property was originally purchased by my husband's paternal grandmother in 1964 when it was known as the Honeymoon Cottage. My husband inherited it from his parents in 1998 and we built an addition to the cottage in 2000. We live in that addition adjacent to the cottage.

When the bears visited, we gave a new name to the cottage.

Why they chose this property

This property is secluded, surrounded by trees. It is a great neighborhood for walking and the conference grounds supply some seasonal opportunities. Flat Rock Park with hiking trails is less than 1 mile away. The ample trails at Carl Sandburg Historic Site are within walking distance. Flat Rock's Rainbow Row is within walking distance.

What makes this property unique

This property is located in the Associate Reformed Presbyterian denominational conference grounds so that guests have the privilege of use of conference facilities when they are open.
