The Sea Turtle townhouse is a beautifully decorated three bedroom townhouse located in Safety Harbor Club on the unspoiled North Captiva Island. Its guests are entitled to the use of the Club's amenities including a large swimming pool, tennis courts, private beach access, docks (additional fee) and fishing pier, private waterfront restaurant, golf cart included, and an ice machine. This non-smoking retreat features: views of Safety Harbor, conveniently located near the boat docks, 3 bedrooms (1st with Queen bed, 2nd with King bed and twin bed nook-ideal reading nest, 3rd with 1 twin and 1 queen bed- perfect for kids), 2 full size bathrooms each with easy access full showers, fully equipped kitchen with all your comforts of home, 3 new flat screen tv's, washer and dryer, screened lanai overlooking the bay, and relaxing decor to soothe away stress.

Getting there....Easy! Taxi service is available from airports, from there a water taxi to the island is required as we are not land locked. You also are able to bring your boat and pull into one of the slips conveniently located across from our unit. You will need to bring the items necessary for your planned meals, along with paper products for your stay (minimal paper products provided). Our home has a fully equipped kitchen (coffee maker, blender, mixer, microwave, reverse osmosis system, cooking and baking essentials) and a propane grill is available to grill your fresh catch. Bring your flip flops and sunscreen!

North Captiva, also known as Upper Captiva, is an unspoiled tropical barrier island off the coast of SW Florida. A magical oasis only a 20 minute boat ride from the mainland but feels like another world. Remote and undiscovered, North Captiva Island is accessible only by ferry, private boat or small plane. This private island community is reminiscent of old Florida as it once was during a simpler time. Just 3 miles off shore, this tropical paradise is part of the Lee Island Coast barrier island chain in South West Florida. Nearest airport to fly to would be in Fort Myers, Fl. Travel by golf cart or bicycle on our sandy native trails. Here, you will find no cars, no crowds or paved roads. North Captiva Island offers a small town impression with just enough amenities to suite your family needs.

Birthday/Anniversary holiday

Our party of 4 was celebrating my husbands 71st birthday and our friends 50th wedding anniversary. Stayed 6 days and rained 4/6. However had a wonderful time. Very comfortably and relaxing sitting on terrace looking out over the harbor. Beautiful island, a vacationer caught a shark at the beach by the airport. Hiked the preserve and saw a turtle having lunch. Many treasures of sand dollars and seashells were found on the awesome beaches. The one sunset with the dolphins swimming was amazing. Angela was very helpful and prompt with any questions or concerns. A bonus were the people of Captiva were so kind, happy and friendly. If your looking for the ultimate relaxing vacation this was it.

NYE Vacation

We had the BEST time at this property in North Captiva. Such a peaceful island to get away from it all and completely relax. The townhouse was perfect for us. The kitchen was well equipped for all our cooking. The beach was beautiful and a quick walk or golf cart ride. We loved fishing on the piers, swimming in the club pool and exploring the nature walk. Angela was so helpful and responsive. We hope to go back soon!

Summer 2023

The townhome was very clean and had everything that we needed for our stay. The upstairs was pretty warm and we couldn’t use one of the bedrooms because of this. A ceiling fan in that room would’ve probably helped out quite a bit. The townhome had a nice screened in deck with a good view of the Harbor, which was relaxing in the mornings and evenings. The golf cart, which was included in the rental, came in handy and was fun to drive around the island. The island itself still has quite a bit of clean up left to do and there were piles of debris all along the side of the roads, which it’s not even been a year since the hurricane. It was definitely a chill island, but maybe too chill for a six night stay with two active boys. We had access to the Safety Harbor Club and for the first two days, we didn’t see another person there, but I’m sure once they start operating at full capacity, this will surely change. The other club pool seemed to be quite a bit more lively, but that is also where Mangos bar and grill was located. There were only two restaurants that were open, with a limited menu on certain days at Mangos, so make sure and have plenty of groceries. There were a couple food trucks by the airstrip, but one of them I only saw open one evening and the other one I believe was just open for breakfast and lunch, but not everyday. I personally feel like all of this information would’ve been helpful to know beforehand, so I thought it would be helpful for next person.

The best island getaway!

We loved North Captiva and this property! Angela was so responsive from start to finish. We had a small issue with the front door lock during our stay and she was immediately available by phone and had the issue resolved within minutes. The condo was beautifully updated and had everything you need! Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need to cook, really appreciated the beach towels and huge selection of games. Beds were very comfortable! We had friends who also rented a condo/townhome in the same property and it was no where near as nice or updated. We loved the closeness to the boat ramp! Will be on our list to come back to for sure!

Perfect place for 3

We had a great time staying at Seaturtle! Angela, the owner, is very responsive and accommodating. Close proximity to boarding the ferry if needed. You can walk easily to anyplace as my 13 yo can attest. Very clean, Wi-Fi worked well (which isn’t usual for the island). We weren’t used to renting a golf cart, but it’s completely understandable given how some people on the island treat them. Perfect stay on North Cap once again!

Perfect relaxing getaway!!!

This was the perfect size for my family! Everyone had a bed and the view of the dock was relaxing ! The worst part of the stay was leaving. Thanks Angela for a trip my family will never forget!!

Beautiful island get away

My family of two adults and three teens had a wonderful time on North Captiva. The place was perfect, clean, spacious and well stocked for making meals. We loved the beaches and the little restaurant/ bars. We would definitely come back.

Golf Cart and Ferry Problems

The condo itself was great, as was the responsiveness of the owner. Our biggest complaint concerned the golf cart provided. It has definitely seen better days, and it simply quit on us the second day and had to be hauled away for repairs. The owner was nice enough to provided us use of her personal cart while the vehicle was being repaired but it was a lot of hassle for a vacation stay. And, for anyone who hasn’t stayed on North Captiva, a golf cart is really a necessity because of the lack of easy alternatives for getting around the island. Also, another irritation was the lack of clear instructions for starting the cart and monitoring the battery power level. Another caution for first time visitors to the island is the ferry service. Angela recommended Island Girl taxi, but it stops running at 5:00 PM. Our plane arrived at Ft. Meyers late and we were unable to reach the embarkation point until nearly 6:00, leaving us no alternative but the other, NCIC, ferry service. Good luck finding the NCIC terminal when you are short on time as there is almost no signage. Except for these gripes, the stay was enjoyable,

Paradise

This vacation was magical is the only word that come to mind! The property was nice but the smallest room is only suitable for children. That should be said in the description. Both twin beds are on the floor without any support. Gas tank on the grill ran out on the first night we were there and was not replaced the remaining time we were there. The owners are very prompt at responding to text & email though. All in all, would give 4 stars!

A relaxing escape to NCI

My family and I enjoy spending the holidays in the Cape Coral area. This year we stayed at the Sea Turtle townhouse on North Captiva Island. For starters, Angela was super great with communicating, gave me plenty of ideas to prepare for the trip and once we arrived. The townhouse was nicely decorated with coastal accessories, very comfortable and well stocked. We had a much needed golf cart, boat slip, pool, tennis courts and a grill. The island is charming with golf cart paths and overly nice people. I used Antione Good (grocery service) thru the Dumpling app. Antoine was very professional, communicated well and went above and beyond to provide good service. Mirriah Hickson makes and delivers over overly delicious cinnamon rolls which the kids devoured. The island is beautiful. The restaurants were just ok. The only negative is thru Dumpling (grocery service) Publix estimated my order at $300 and it was $500) plus all the fees, ferry and tip. I’m not a fan of Publix. Use a different grocery store. The whole family enjoyed the trip.

Great place for beach and relaxation

Smooth check-in/check out. Comfortable space/furniture. Convenient to ferry. Well stocked and functional kitchen. Great place to chill out with friends and/or family. Location (including the island itself) is not crowded. Plenty of areas to spread out and relax on the beach. However, the wifi issue still has not been resolved. This was definitely annoying, but had a relatively minimal impact on us since the point of our trip was to get away, relax, and spend quality time together. Also, let's just say the golf cart has some miles on it. Fortunately it worked mostly well. We used a local grocery shopper service who delivered to our ferry, which was very helpful.

Great get away

We loved the townhouse. Had all the amenities we needed. Good location near the pool and steps from Island Girl Water taxi. Angela is a great host and was very responsive to all our questions. It is a wonderful, quiet place to unwind.

Unwind and Recharge in North Captiva

The location was awesome and the owner / property manager was very helpful. North Captiva met exactly what we needed. We spent the majority of our time outside enjoying nature and time together. Yeah, the WiFi is spotty at this property but more reason to stay off the tablets / phones ... we will be coming back again!

Perfect getaway!

We had an unforgettable time in North Captiva! The island made it so easy to relax and enjoy the outdoors. We loved being in Safety Harbor and the location of this property is perfect and convenient. The house was clean and had a lot of amenities. The owners were super responsive and easy to work with!! They were helpful in guiding us by making taxi, water taxi, and grocery service recommendations. We had a wonderful experience and are already thinking about a return trip!

Recharging in paradise

The house is very nice and is conveniently located in the center of the island. My wife and thoroughly enjoyed our time away and love North Captiva. The property owners provided a fishing pole which I enjoyed catching some kingfish a few afternoons. We had an issue with the provided golf cart and the owners were on top of it quickly and had a repair guy come and address the problem. The very friendly and accommodating owners even went out of their way to let us use their owners golf cart for a day while the other one was being repaired. We'll be back !

We have been visiting North Captiva for years and enjoy the quiet, relaxing pace of the Island. It's easy to make friends on the island and enjoyable for all ages. It's a wonderful place to feel like you are much further away from every day life. The Sea Turtle is perfect for a family, the kids love all the wildlife and the boats we see going by.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

Wake up every morning overlooking the water. We really enjoy watching the dolphins feeding in the morning and looking for manatees in the water around us. Of course we love the turtles you will see around the island. Being on a small island and unplugging from everyday life is wonderful and you really get that on North Captiva. Theres no crazy traffic with stop lights one after another, this is really a peaceful place to visit
