Your house had all the right elements for a mountain house.... spectacular view of the creek, wonderful porches, great beds and bed linens, loved your upscale mountain decor and openness of the whole place! The kids had fine time in the privacy of their lower level space. Hope they didnt do too much damage to ping pong and pool table. Great walking trails and close to town.Loved the shopping!

We'll be back!

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our 5th or 6th year of enjoying this beautiful, well maintained property. Furnishings exceptional, wonderful screen porch view of gurgling creek and whitewater over large rocks. Walk out the front door and start hiking, or find one of many private spots for reading. We find the creek area especially nice, with hammock, chairs, and outdoor fireplace!

So relaxing

  • 5 of 5

This house is great. It's easy to get to from town. The stream is really lovely. The only slight down side is that the house is the middle of three houses on a small private road and the houses are kind of close. Still private but not an isolated cabin. The stream, fire pit and porch make up for it.

Owner's Response: This ' upscale cottage' - "On-The-Rocks" - is nestled between 2 privately owned cottages on 3.09 acres each with their own siting 'down creek'. Mature trees and lush vegetation provide a natural screen between the 3 homes. "On-The-Rocks" ' beautiful siting overlooks the "big" creek; gently sloping boulder stone steps adjacent to our cottage provide private access to the gurgling shoals, 'swimming hole', and fire pit with Adirondeck chairs seating. An oversized hammock secured by 2 towering hardwood trees completes this nature's play yard. We hope our guests find their stay a true retreat! Thank you for the 5 STAR rating! We hope you ll return again soon!

Beautiful place, great location

  • 5 of 5

This house is much prettier in person, the pictures don't do it justice. It was nestled on the creek and the sounds were so relaxing. We would definitely go back. The Highlands downtown area was charming.

Our stay at On The Rocks was perfect. We loved everything about the house. The screened in porch with the sound of the rushing stream was the perfect end to each day. We loved playing games down stairs in the game room with pool table and game table. The decor created the perfect ambience . Very clean and well appointed. We would definently recommend this house for families or couples. The owners were very gracious and helpful.

Peaceful & Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Our party of 2 small families was so thrilled with our stay at On the Rocks. The house is beautiful and styled in a sophicated but "easy feeling" decor. Its absolutely beautifully done. Its open, and bright and with the porch doors open and the sounds of the creek below rushing by, its hard to find a more peaceful environment. The creek was perfect for the kids (and parents!) to splash and play in. Our kids 3-5 years in age had a blast!

The house was laid out perfectly for 2 separate families. We each had our own spaces and in spite of being an open design, the house remained pretty quiet! And I could go on and on about the gorgeous porches. We ate dinner on the porch everday!

There are 2 hammocks. One on one of the porches and another outside by the creek. And the firepit was the perfect place for smores! (Just be sure to bring a few flashlights or lanterns with you, its definitely dark out there at night!) :)

The house is a very quick drive to town, which is adorable and has all the conveniences - grocery stores, restaraunts, shops, etc.

We would definitely recommend On The Rocks!
