Amazing ! Cozy mountain cabin on beautiful, clear, rocky and picturesque mountain stream with 'Central Air'.

Miles of easy hiking just out front door. National Forest across road. Heavily wooded and natural environment. One and one-half miles to the famous 'wild and scenic' Chattooga River which offers excellent trout fishing and local Sliding Rock. Nothing in the world beats good pan-fried trout. There are lots of great hiking trails close-by...

* Main Level: Two Bedrooms (one queen and one pair twin beds), full bath, open living area w/BIG flat, screen TV, dining room, and kitchen (completely and well-furnished).
* Upper Level: Master Bedroom loft (Queen) and full bath.
* Large covered porch area with plenty of seating surrounded on three sides by mountains... Read or just relax while sipping on your coffee or drink... Cashiers gets a good bit of rain and there is nothing like sitting on the covered front porch curled up with your favorite book while listening to and watching the rain. Enjoy lounging on deck in back with patio set, lounge and very comfortable chairs.

Come, relax and unwind!!! Wade or fish the clear, cold mountain stream... Explore waterfalls, hike the trails to enjoy the natural environment of this area. Listen to the soothing, tumbling waters of the nearby stream, absorb the wildlife sounds of the mountain evenings! This is vacationing at it's finest! You will not be disappointed...

Just five miles to downtown Cashiers, NC. Ten miles to Highlands. Both have many beautiful golf courses, first-class restaurants, antique shops, and boutique shops. For those of you who like to test Lady Luck, it is but a short hour's drive to the Casinos at Cherokee, NC. Beyond Cherokee is Gatlinburg, TN which is approximately another hour away. Both are wonderful scenic drives.

Very quiet and secluded mountain retreat. If you think you don't know where you are going, it is just because you have not gone far enough. House has everything you need to disconnect and unwind. Stream in the back is lovely and we enjoyed the fire pit. No problems or concerns.

Excellent cabin

This was a wonderful cabin. Kids loved playing in the creek. Beds were comfortable. Host had extremely quick response time and lots of good local info. Highly recommend.

Perfect mountain getaway

This property is all about location. It’s on a quiet road with a running creek is a secluded and beautiful neighborhood. About 15 minutes to town where you can get everything you need for you trip and lots of restaurant options. Love seeing some of the upgrades from Bathrooms to living room furniture throughout the years. We will definitely be back.

Quiet, peaceful, beautiful forest cabin

This cabin in a deep forest cove was ideal for us. Quiet with the soothing sounds of the creek. The furnishings were nice and had everything we needed. Secluded, yet just 13 minutes away from town. Easy access to hiking locations as well as fishing on Lake Glenville. Tip: Save driving directions ahead of time as your GPS will likely think you’ve arrived ahead of the actual location. This is common with remote locations.

Beautiful Cabin in the Woods!

The cabin is more beautiful and charming than the pictures show! Peaceful surroundings, well kept and perfectly stocked. The perfect place for a relaxing vacation in the Great Smoky Mountains. The towns of Cashiers and Highlands NC are just minutes away and have great shopping, restaurants and activities. Our family of 8, including two younger children, thoroughly enjoyed our stay over Christmas and NYE. We look forward to our next visit. Also, the hosts were very accommodating and gracious. Thank you for opening your beautiful cabin for families to enjoy! Happy New Year!

A little piece of Heaven

Every time I have stayed at this property it felt like coming home. We have been visiting the Cashiers area for almost 30 years and this is our favorite place that we have stayed. The home itself is very comfortable and well stocked. I love the kitchen! It is located in a very peaceful location that is secluded but close by the crossroads and our favorite sliding rock. The owner is always helpful and very quick to respond. We look forward to visiting this home away from home again soon. Highly recommend this property if you are looking for a great place to get away, relax and soak in some nature. This year we even had a bear friend visit our first morning.

Creek side Cabin

We spent a week at the cabin cooking and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. My kids loved the creek and wooded lot. My dog and I walked the secluded gravel road every morning and evening and my husband and I had wine every night on the back porch enjoying the sounds of the creek. The cabin is well designed and quaintly furnished. It’s a great home base for surrounding hikes or a great escape during these crazy times. WiFi works well if you need to work but I preferred just reading a book while my kids played and my husband strummed his guitar. Grateful for the break!

A Gem Nestled in the Forest

Spent 3 nights and wish we'd booked longer! It's obvious that this is a well-loved home. Absolutely immaculate, with lots of extra touches (e.g., extremely well-stocked kitchen, comfy chair & couch, overhead fans with extra lights for bright or dimming; hubby especially liked the easy digital lock, satellite TVs in living room and master BR, plus wireless internet). Nice covered front porch with picnic table and swing and rocking chairs on which to read if it rains, pretty deck on back). With windows open, wonderful to have the rushing creek lull you to sleep. A couple of houses are nearby but definitely not intrusive. More places to sit close to the clear, clean, cool stream and commune with nature. Brought our flat-coated retriever mix who delighted in wallowing in the creek (just be sure to bring your own ample dog towels for drying off afterwards!). Plenty of beautiful waterfalls nearby (ex: Cashiers Sliding Rock is only 1 mile from the entrance to Whiteside Forest, turn left onto Whiteside Cove Road, it's on right). Cabin is at the end of a gravel road, nestled in the forest, very quiet and serene - but really easy access to Cashiers for shopping and a super Ingles Grocery. Several restaurants with patio dining outside that allow your dog (Cornucopia, Ugly Dog Public House, Randevu, Slab Town Pizza, Zookeeper Bistro). Jacque is great to work with, our security deposit was returned promptly. Would highly recommend! Kathleen & David, Decatur, GA

Mountain Getaway

This property was AMAZING to rent. It is perfectly clean and stocked with everything we needed (trash bags, dish soap, plenty of towels). Jacquelyn was very kind and helpful when I had questions during our stay. The pictures of the property do make it seem like there are no other houses near and there are a few houses within view, but you’re definitely still secluded and remote enough to enjoy the mountain life. The property is beautiful and falling asleep listening to the gurgling stream is delightful. I absolutely recommend you stay here if you want a remote mountain getaway.

Nice time in Cashiers

The cottage is very peaceful. Not too far from restaurants and activities. The property lies next to a creek in the back which is nice. Rustic but clean. I would recommend.

Ideal location in the mountains

My family and I (2 adults and 2 kids under 6) just returned from our stay at the cabin. We had a lovely time. The setting is incredible - nestled deep in the woods with the sounds of the creek in the backyard. Our kids had a ball playing in the creek, running around the beautifully landscaped front yard, and swinging on the front porch swing. The location was convenient to a number of terrific hikes (not to mention boating activities on Lake Glenville). Our kids particularly loved Dry Falls since you can walk behind the falls a get a little wet! The cabin is well stocked and the linens were clean. We really appreciated having a washer and dryer during our stay. We anticipated there being no cell reception (and there isn't), but in addition the wifi was quite spotty and slow. I'm not sure if this is a recurring issue or not, but it didn't bother us much as there is so much to do outdoors. I would say that it seemed like the cabin was in need of a deep clean. Some corners (e.g. near the fireplace and TV) were dusty and had spider webs, and overall there was a musty smell, especially upstairs. All that being said, we had a wonderful time and look forward to visiting Cashiers again next summer.

A Beautiful location, very peaceful stay

My wife and I took a weekend break from traveling a month in our Motor-coach and thoroughly enjoyed Lonesome Cove. We had never been in this part of NC before and could not have asked for a more peaceful, private cabin and great town for restaurants and shops. The fall colors were spectacular. We will return.

Perfect get away from the city

We had a nice peaceful weekend in the mountains. The property was just as described in the listing. I must also say the wifi worked great which is a plus in that area. The biggest treat was that Saturday we had a family of bears pass by in the front yard which was the first time my daughter had witnessed in the wild which to us it was amazing

Perfect getaway

The house is beautiful. Tucked back in the woods next to a stream with a waterfall. Inside it is decorated nicely and has everything you need to have a relaxing experience. I liked that the owners have included a binder with all kinds of information about the area, the house, and even some recipes. Also, the light switches and gas fireplace are all marked to make it easy to use. Beds are comfortable, kitchen is very well equipped, and the front porch is nice to hang out and relax. There are many trails and lookout points that are a short drive from the house. I would certainly visit again.

Perfect mountain retreat

This house is just perfect. Tugged away in the mountains, within woods, and with a small creek flowing at its side. Excellent for families! We enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back!

Perfect mountain getaway

This property is absolutely gorgeous. I spent most of my time on the back deck soaking in the peacefulness. I was very impressed with how well the kitchen was supplied. My family teases me because when we travel I take along my favorite cookware, (knives, a large pot or a crockpot). But it wasn’t necessary in this cabin. It had everything I needed to prepare home cooked meals right down to an apron. The landscaping is so pretty and the stream that runs through the property was a favorite spot for my 6 year old granddaughter. We have been visiting the cashiers area for 20 years and this was by far the best property we have ever stayed at. The owners were wonderful and very helpful. I look forward to more amazing restful vacations in the future.

Home sweet home

This home was definitely a home sweet home It was very comfortable for our family. Peaceful and such a blessing. Very well Kept and obviously loved and cared for by the owners. The owners were very easy to get in touch with , With any questions we had. Would definitely recommend this home. We just loved everything about it. From the beautiful trees and ferns and the creek directly behind the house that can be heard from inside the house. Thank you for such a memorable and comfortable stay !

Way better than Disney World!

My family had an absolute blast at the cabin! We planned this vacation before our youngest son had major surgery which comes with a rough 3 month recovery. It was also his birthday week. He caught his first fish in the creek in the back. My daughter also was able to reel in a couple. This was the most relaxing place on the planet. It is close enough to everything you need yet, secluded and private. We have all been to Disney World but they have it all wrong. Everyone was able to enjoy themselves here. Can't get total satisfaction from Disney. We are definitely looking to do this again perhaps even in the fall season. The owners have great accommodations and are just a phone call or text away. All you need is charcoal and fishing gear. The marina is a couple miles away up in neighboring Glenville and they rent pontoon boats for a fair price. Cashiers is a great town and the brewery there is great too! Don't pass up this opportunity to get some real peace and quiet and relax. No stress getaway. Thanks to Jacquelyn for making this happen! Everyone had an extraordinary time.

Beautiful setting, great stream, privacy, national forest across street and hiking right out the front door. We looked for this perfect piece of heaven for more than 5 years. It had everything we were looking for... privacy, natural setting, heavily wooded and bold stream, yet close to downtown Cashiers and Highlands, both with grocery stores, lots of restaurants and unique shopping experiences.

Peacefulness, getting away from our hectic day-to-day lives. Beautiful setting with scenic hiking close by. Chattooga River (A designated, Wild and Scenic River) is less than 1 1/2 miles away. Lots of waterfalls, fishing and beautiful golf courses nearby. Favorite hikes: Whiteside Mountain, unique Granite City and the one right out the front door down the hardly traveled road.
