About this property
Charming Downtown CB Home with Amazing Access
Newly renovated historic house in a great location in downtown CB with a relaxed, contemporary vibe. (Town of Crested Butte Business License #008562)
Amazing location! You'll be two blocks from the west end of Elk Ave (main street) on the quiet, sunny side of town. The house is 1 block from mountain biking and hiking trails, 2 blocks from groomed Nordic ski trails, and only a few blocks to the bus stop, where you can catch the free bus to Mt. CB and the ski area. The restaurants on Elk are minutes away on foot, bike, or car, as are shops and groceries.
This historic home was built in 1925 and remodeled in 2020. It has lots of natural light, a newly redone bathroom, kitchen, and more. The floor plan is great for a family or friends to get away, get outside and relax. The spacious, sunny front porch is ready for relaxing at the end of the day. There is a large fenced yard and a shed for ski gear and bikes.
The kitchen has new appliances and is set up for cooking and eating at home. We have a good selection of kitchen items, spices, oils, etc. and tend towards organic when possible. We try to have an assortment of high quality teas, cocoa, condiments, and other items that you are welcome to use.
The house is set up to work away from home. There are 2 desks, one of which is an electric standing desk, and external monitors for work or streaming. High-speed internet. No TV at the house, but you can use the external monitors to stream from your computer or other device.
Parents of young children - the stairs are a bit steep and can't be baby-gated at least at the bottom, and the main heat source is a gas-fired stove. If you are visiting with small children, please consider if this is the right place for your family.

About the host
Hosted by JD Signom & Michelle Albert
We first moved to the Gunnison Valley in the late '90s and fell in love with Crested Butte and the surrounding mountains, rivers, and valleys. There's so much to love: the views, the trails, the wildflowers, the historic downtown, the snow, the steeps, the fantastic nordic trail system, the unique sense of place and the fun-loving spirit that abounds. Having this wonderful home right in town is a dream of ours. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
In our humble opinion this location is the best!!! It's just outside the hubbub of Elk Ave. but has fantastic accessibility to just about everything the valley has to offer. In the winter, the central location means you can choose not to drive or deal with crowded parking during your stay - you can walk or bus almost everywhere you need to go. In the summer, you can walk or ride to the coffee shop and hop on the trails right from the house.
What makes this property unique
The historic house with its 3 iconic sheds is liable to charm you, while the interior is comfortable and contemporary. It feels light and relaxing inside. It's not a big house but is a wonderful space to relax, play, or work.
