If you're looking for a comfortable and well-equipped stay in Highlands, this is it! The cottage was super clean!! We especially appreciated how well-stocked the kitchen was. They have games, puzzles, and books on hand so you can leave yours at home. Being within walking distance to restaurants and just a mile from the historic downtown was a major plus. An overall perfect spot to stay with your family and friends. Thanks to Jennifer for being a fantastic host!

We loved Bluebird Day Cottage!!!!

We chose to spend Christmas in the Highlands this year and Jennifer/Barrett’s cabin was the perfect choice!!!! The cabin is so cute, spacious and in an amazing location. Plus…it is dog friendly and our Frenchie felt right at home, too! Jennifer provides ample instructions and communication so you know exactly where to go and what to expect. Cannot say enough good things about their cabin and their hosting! We’ll be back!!!

Perfect Home for our family vacation!

We chose this beautiful home because of its location as well as the fact we could bring our family dog! Everything was clean, super comfortable and so charming- from the relaxing screened in porch to the great kitchen to the outdoor fire pit area. Our adult children loved staying here with my husband and me for a full week of hiking and shopping and dining in the gorgeous Highlands! We currently live in Melbourne Beach, FL with our two French Bulldogs, Gouda and Brie. We love the outdoors and have been avid stand up paddleboard and outrigger canoe racers since 2010. Around that time we decided to vacation in North Georgia on Lake Burton to escape the summer heat of Florida. We stopped in Highlands after hiking Rabun Bald, which is part of the Bartram Trail. We've explored many small towns for a "mountain getaway vacation rental" and kept returning to Highlands for its unique charm. We've owned and managed several popular short term vacation rentals on St Simons Island, GA and Fernandina Beach, FL. So this isn't new to us. In 2020 we decided to look for a Highlands getaway we, and our guests, could enjoy. After looking at many, we decided this cottage had everything we wanted in our Highlands getaway and became the proud owners in January 2021.

Why they chose this property

board walls and stone front steps. Over time the steps have settled and became unsafe to use. So we repurposed the steps into a terraced flower garden and added a bird bath nearby. The covered & screened front porch is an outdoor space that can be enjoyed most of the year, rain or shine! We love the open floor plan and multiple gathering spaces inside and outside the house. Let the two sets of gas log fireplaces warm you on a chilly morning. Then build a roaring fire in the outdoor firepit in the evening to roast marshmallows. Soak in the Master Bedroom's large tub and slip into linen bedding to dream of tomorrow's adventures.

What makes this property unique

The amazing location is within walking distance to town, hikes and local attractions. But the neighborhood is wooded and peaceful with seasonal views.
