Short Solo Getaway
This was my first time visiting the Gatlinburg area. I was looking for a short serene getaway to take in the fall scenery.
Here is my impression -
Pros:
- The staff is very friendly.
- The unit is modern, immaculate and well equipped with
everything you need.
- The bed is comfortable.
- A/C and Heat works very well.
- Shower is very nice
- The resort has plenty of activities, a general store and a restaurant if you don't feel like going outside of the property.
- On site shuttle and trolley to Gatlinburg. No need to drive into town and pay for parking.
- BBQ Grill on site.
- In unit Wi Fi works very well.
Cons:
- No View ! - The unit has one window that faces a stone beam. I am told the resort had a fire and had to be rebuilt, so I think this may have been a design flaw.
-This is suite, so it adjoins with another unit, so you will hear noise from the unit next to you.
- The parking is horrendous at night. If you are not back by 7pm, be prepared to walk from the pool/mini-golf area to the building. Its a cold and windy walk at night. Management said they aware of the issue and they said they are exploring solutions.
- Check in process at peak times can seem a bit overwhelming, but the staff is friendly and attentive which makes up for it.
Overall, I would say its a nice stay, if you are looking for a budget friendly option with lots of amenities.
