About this property
Family Mountain Retreat! Hot Tub-Wildlife!
Escape to our Blue Spruce Cabin atop 2.5 acres of pine and aspen forested mountainside looking up at Pikes Peak.
Enjoy the views; the wildlife; soaking in the hot tub; sitting by the fireplace; all the board games, foosball, movie library.
The Blue Spruce Cabin is a perfect getaway no matter what the season. During the summer, cooler mountain temps provide an oasis from the heat; in the fall when the aspen change it is truly beautiful; and it's a spectacular winter wonderland for the holidays.
OUTDOOR LIVING: hot tub, gas grill, outdoor dining table, covered deck with cushioned patio furniture, mountain views, aspen grove, wildlife sightings daily
INDOOR LIVING: Flat-screen Smart TVs, gas fireplace, dining table, rustic decor, loft, coffee bar
KITCHEN: Fully equipped, drip coffee maker, Keurig coffee maker w/ pods, dishware, stainless steel pots & pans, flatware, breakfast bar w/seating, blender, cleaning supplies & paper towels, cooking spices & oils
GAME ROOM: Foosball table, 55-inch Smart TV, 6 person board game table, VHS/DVD player with large movie library
GENERAL: WIFI, washer/dryer, linens, towels, ceiling fans, hair dryer, complimentary toiletries, detergent & fabric softener
FAQ: Step-free access, exterior security/snow camera on garage, 4WD recommended (October - April)
FREE PARKING: Driveway (4 vehicles), trailer parking is available
The last mile to the Blue Spruce Cabin is on county-maintained gravel roads full of curves and steep in spots. We highly recommend 4 wheel or all-wheel drive vehicles from October-May due to the possibility of snow.
WE also will provide you with step-by-step directions and a map which you should print out, because your phone and possibly GPS probably won't work in spots up here. And if it does, it may send you to roads that don't exist.
You can switch to WIFI calling when you reach the cabin.
but will be available by phone 7 AM-9 PM
Our cabin is located in Rainbow Valley, and is just below, and looks up at Sentinel Point which is the second highest spot on Pikes Peak.

About the host
Hosted by Bill & Sherry Donovan
I've been in the hospitality business most of my life, so vacation rentals are a natural for me. It's like having a little hotel or bed & breakfast. These rentals are going to help us through our retirement. And they are a lot of fun. We love making people happy, and we strive to do it so well that you'll want to come back, and bring your friends.
Why they chose this property
We used to bring our daughter and then our grandkids to the PIkes Peak region for summer camps and always felt it would be a great place to retire to. Compared to heading west out of Denver where we currently live, the drive here is so much easier. Teller County has a little bit milder winters than the rest of the state; in fact it's called the banana belt by the weather forecasters
What makes this property unique
We first viewed this home in early spring, so Pikes Peak had plenty of snow, and that day was one of those bright blue sky stunners. We couldn't write the contract fast enough.
We had a great time decorating this unique property with Colorado art, photos and artifacts from local artists. Many personal items, especially all the kitchen items makes it feel like home for us, and we have lots of good memories here
