About this property

Large open living room with a large add on room, both with hardwood floors. Tiled kitchen and laundry room floors. Add on room has large picture windows with a panoramic view of the forest behind the rental. French doors in the living room and one of the bedrooms leading to the add on room. Two doors off the add on room leading to one partially covered deck and one open air deck. Add on room is sided in pine boards with cedar boards facing out the large windows. One door leading to the deck in the kitchen and one door in the living room facing the front porch. A great place for anyone to enjoy the lovely countryside of the Tumbling Shoals lake area, just 1/4 mile from a federal park with boat launching and a swimming beach.

Extended family weekend

Myself, my husband, and two kids stayed at the house. We had a great time and the house got the job done. However, 1. We were given the wrong address initially, and the wrong instructions to enter into the house. Neither home has a house number on it and we were able to figure out where we were supposed to be from pictures of the inside and peeping inside. We tried contacting the homeowner, but she never replied until later to tell us we were at the wrong home at 1130 pm. I then tried calling her and she would not answer. My children were in bed and the pictures all matched and I paid for the home we were in. She got mixed up, but she did not clarify this with me until the next morning! 2. The home offers internet, but she does not know the password. She tried to get me to do work for her by asking me to return to the house from where I was at to search the monitor. We were on the lake by this time. I was supposed to do some work, but I was able to do it later off of my own hot spot. So, there is no internet access. 3. We arrived at the house when it was 100 degrees outside. She doesn’t keep the air on at all and it took a whole night to cool the house down to 72. It was 96 in the house when we arrived. 4. The listing states that it is only 2 beds or one bed. There are 3 beds and 500 couches, 2 baths, and 120 rugs. Overall, the communication is terrible. She prefers to blame it on her property management, but it is very obvious she is the property manager.

Poor management

We received confirmation email but no directions to get in. Called on the way only to be told they didn't realize it was rented and were out of town for an emergency. Then they called back and said it was actually double booked. We were refunded but had to scurry to find arrangements for a place to stay while in town to work. If you can't manage a rental property, you shouldn't be in the business.

Loved staying in the double wide. Wasn’t impressed with VRBO double booking the place.

Thankfully I booked another place beside the original place. After the confusion, I had a terrific time. Beautiful and cozy. Would love to stay in the double wide again soon.
