Terrific Property for easy relaxing and close to the Smokies and activities.

  • 4 of 5

A very nice stay; easy to get in, get settled and start enjoying. Very clean and the owners were very responsive to requests. A nice relaxing atmosphere among the trees on the covered porch during my 9 day stay. Would go back in an instant.

Great cabin for our motorcycle trip

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. The cabin is beautiful and we had everything we needed. We selected the cabin because it was near the Tail of the Dragon. This was our first multi night trip on the motorcycle. On the day we arrived, we had been in rain all day so it was wonderful to arrive at the cabin and turn the fireplace on. The hot tub was great too after a long day of riding. We liked the layout of the cabin with the master suite on the lower level. Very cozy!!

A good and pleasant mixed bag...

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was nice, cozy, beds were comfortable and it was in a good location close to town but, not too close. Very private location. The driveway leading up to the cabin was very steep and only partially paved.

The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, etc. Tvs, satellite was in good working order and there was plenty of fire wood available.

A couple of negatives: while the cabin was clean, there were some areas that could use a little more cleaning. For example, there was dust on almost every piece of decor in the bathrooms, spider webs around the light fixtures in both bathrooms and the door frame in the bathroom downstairs. The hot pool does not get very hot. It was also not filled when we arrived and it takes about 4 hours to fill and heat up. Who has time to wait that long when you are only there for two nights?! The hottest we could get it was about 87 degrees. The water pressure is also lame. You can't fill the hot tub and run water in the house at the same time. Even when you are not filling the hot tub, the water pressure in the shower/sinks is still very low.

There was also some kind of alarm, as best as we could tell-in the kitchen cupboard, above the fridge, which was locked, that went off every morning around 6am. This is pretty annoying when you have little kids and specially when you are on vacation, trying to catch up on sleep.

My biggest pet peeve with the cabin was the fact that we had to take our own trash with us! That's right, the GUEST is required to take all trash with them and dump it in some dumpsters down the road. Keep in mind we did pay a cleaning fee, so I'm not sure what that was for because we were also limited to the use of one towel each. If we had used more than one towel, the GUEST, has to launder them before leaving.

Check out is also too early-10am. Most places it's 11am.

Cabin owner was nice and quick to respond.

Owner's Response: We appreciate feedback from guests and this helps up to adjust our property description, amenities offered and most importantly improve communication with guests. Each guest is asked to sign and return an occupancy agreement that includes: check in / check out, bed linens and towels, hot tub, trash removal, wi-fi connection password, pay per view option, driving directions, on-site key lock box code and a lot of other useful information to assist guests with their travel planning. We also have a 2 inch thick guest welcome binder on the kitchen counter that includes redundant information and more. The guest / travel planner and I had a very positive / constructive email exchange, regarding the occupancy agreement, a month before their arrival. The hot tub has a highly visible rotary temperature control and heats to a max of 102. The hot tub is a DIY amenity: fill, heat, drain. Guests may request early check-in or late check-out and we have been very generous with these requests when we could. The region suffered from national newsworthy extreme drought conditions with forest fires in October 2016. Our property was not affected by the fires. Water tables and pressure were down. We installed, December 2016, a 1000 gallon underground water storage tank that resolved drought condition water pressure issues. We thank the reviewer, one of the members of the guest group, for highlighting the water pressure issue to us.
