Beautiful newer home on Elk Lake! Come and stay where family memories are made, where there's a fantastic lake view from every room. This spacious 4+ bedroom, 3 bathroom home is here waiting for you and your family to explore the wonders of Northern Michigan and the Chain Of Lakes while staying in comfort. The master bedroom has a new king bed, relax in the Jacuzzi tub, while reading that novel you never have time for. Bring your own boat or water toy or rent one from a near by marina.

Elk Lake is perfect for swimming, skiing, tubing, fishing or to take a memorable boat ride through the Chain Of the Lakes. Travel up the picturesque Torch River to swim on the popular Torch Lake sandbar. Stop in Alden for your favor ice cream or continue up the east side of Torch to the Dockside for something to eat or drink.
We have parking for 4 vehicles and one trailer.

Finish the day with a nice beach fire, roasting marshmallow to perfect golden brown or building some-mores. After the kids have settled down and gone to bed, you can sit down by the lake and watch as the fire slowly turn into red coals and the stars twinkling over the lake. You take a deep breath on 'what a great day' this IS where family memories are made. Come, make some of your own.

Beautiful private getaway

This is undoubtedly one of the best properties I’ve stayed at. To have such pristine views of the lake in a very private setting is priceless. The family and friends I was with during my stay could not get enough of those views. That alone is worth it.

Perfect Place!

We absolutely love this place and would rent again in a heart beat! Amy the Property Manager was on top of every need. The location is perfect and the private beach was amazing. Abundant amenities and comforts. We had six adult, an infant and toddler. The space worked really well for us to not be on top of each other! Cozy fireplaces too! We will be back!

Very peaceful location, Clean home with LOTS of room to spread out and relax both indoors and out. Natural setting with some fun outdoor decor. Gorgeous small, quiet lake. I loved the little screen porch for coffee and reading. All the games and puzzles in the large walkout basement was terrific! As this is a heat only home we do suggest bringing your favorite table fans or box fans. Kitchen is a little sparsely equipped as compared to some homes, as in no hand mixer, potato masher or blender. Didn’t ruin our trip for sure but would have been convenient when we prepared a large meal. No extra kitchen garbage bags or any zip locs but I tend to bring those w/me when renting a home anyway. All in all, for the 6 of us everything was wonderful and we would definitely return.

Wonderful location for a family vacation

Beautiful home on Elk Lake. The small beach was a highlight of our family trip as we spent all sunny afternoons at the beach and in the lake The home is very spacious. Lots of counter space for the many snacks we had for 9 adults and two children. Fridge in the garage was a nice plus for our beverages. The home is on a busy road but we didn’t spend anytime out front so it wasn’t an issue. The only negatives: gas grill doesn’t seem to warm up properly so we didn’t use it after one dinner To cool the upstairs the lower level gets really cold. For our group this wasn’t an issue as those in the lower level like the a/c to be 65 The paddle boats could use some maintenance as one doesn’t steer well. We rented a wave runner from downtown Elk Rapids to use one day. Our group had a blast on it. I would definitely consider this rental again in the future.

fun family vacation

This was overall a great place for our multi-family vacation. We had lots of fun. The beds were comfortable, & the kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed great views of Elk Lake. The older kids enjoyed the 2 kayaks, paddle boat, pier, bicycles, & fire pit, while the small kids enjoyed the little sand beach. A Lake Michigan beach, which also had tennis & basketball courts, was only 10 minutes away. Everyone enjoyed renting a ski boat - plenty of space for skiing/tubing without traffic from other boats. At night we all enjoyed evening games at the large game table in the lower level. The cottage was advertised as sleeping 8-15 people. However, we were very surprised to find that the cottage sleeps only 9 people in beds & one on a futon. The bed count should be changed to accurately reflect number of places to sleep in beds. It should then mention that there's s large lower level area where 6 more people (brings number of guests up to 15) could sleep on blow-up mattresses that guests need to provide for themselves. Since that lower level is cold, more warm blankets wold be nice. Also, seating for meals was for 8 people indoors & 4 on the outside deck. We had to eat in shifts to make that work when the weather was cool. We had been warned of possible swimmer's itch from swimming in Elk lake, but this did not materialize even though our little ones swam in shallow water in front of the cottage. We did, though, towel off thoroughly after swimming.

First family vacation to Michigan

Beautiful property with gorgeous views of the lake. Plenty of space for our family of 8 adults and 5 children to spread out. The sandy beach area was perfect for the small grandchildren. We really enjoyed the upper deck and lower patio along with the 2 kayaks and fire pit area. We had a great time!

We had our first Family vacation all together at Owner Linda’s home. It was perfect for our group and two grand puppies. The Elk Lake view was spectacular. Property manager Tracy was a dream to work with. We were so pleased with our experience, we reserved the house in 2023.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home was perfect for a large group with ages between 9 to 78. The view is beautiful, even in the winter, but we'd love to experience the location again in the summer. The house was spacious, very clean, and had all the accommodations we needed. We highly recommend it.

Great place for a family getaway

We stayed here for a family New Year getaway with 11 people in two families, and it was perfect. Our older kids had plenty of space downstairs to hang out away from the parents, and we had plenty of options for seating, eating, and sleeping arrangements. The kitchen was really well equipped, which was a nice bonus not mentioned in the listing. The property is right on the lake, which is great, but since it was December, we didn’t go in. It’s close to Traverse, the wineries, and Sleeping Bear Dunes, all of which we visited. There’s also a really nice, family friendly nature area called Maplehurst about 5 mins away that was perfect for getting some fresh air in the snow. Highly recommend this property and can’t wait to visit again in warmer weather.

Family Time

The house was great. We had a large group and never felt crowded. The only issue we had was that the backyard was a small pond after rainfall. We actually bought a pump and hose to pump the water back into the lake. We couldn’t use the yard for games but the beach area was fine. We didn’t have small kids so the yard wasn’t a huge problem just a little annoying when walking out to the lake. We would rent again!!!

Wonderful place for families

We spent a week with family at Lynda’s property and were completely impressed with the house and the beautiful views. The kitchen was very well stocked making it easy to entertain at the house. We loved the close proximity to town and the kayaks and paddle boat that were a part of the rental. We would highly recommend this place for families with small children; the beach area was the perfect play space for our little ones! We hope to return in the near future!!

What a wonderful vacation getaway! This place has it all. It was so clean, so comfortable and the manager was easy to communicate with regarding any questions we had. We had family from CA, GA and lower MI. We all give it two thumbs up and a 5 star rating!!
