Book directly through us to receive a low ocean-view rate in the Mauna Kea Resort. Your entire family can stay in this private $1 million vacation residence for less than you'd spend on a single hotel room! Please read the reviews that were written in our guest book, and are published as 'guest comments' under the 'Manager Info' tab.

Known as 'Hale Melehuna' (or 'House of the Secret Hawaiian Song'), Kumulani G-1 features panoramic ocean views across the Hapuna Golf Course, from most rooms. The unit is centrally air-conditioned, but -- for fresh-air lovers -- it's also cooled by island breezes and trade winds nearly every day. This special home features an ocean-view great room with comfortable furniture and dining table that seats up to 10, and an upscale kitchen with ocean views that is well-equipped for preparing gourmet meals.

Sleeping accommodations in Kumulani G-1 include an ocean-view master suite, Cal-king bed and elegant en suite bath offering twin vanity, shower, soaking tub, separate toilet, and separate walk-in closet; a second bedroom with two twin beds that can be put together as a king bed, and a third bedroom with a Queen sized Murphy bed. A second marble bathroom, adjacent to the second bedroom, ensures privacy for everyone.

Comfortable, uncluttered furnishings, local art, 10-foot ceilings, sliding-glass doors framing the blue sea, and ceiling fans in all rooms complement Kumulani G-1's Hawaiian motif.

You won't want to leave the covered ocean-view lanai, the perfect place to dine, or to relax, and enjoy tropical trade winds and gorgeous sunsets.

Situated on 11 acres, the serene and private Kumulani community boasts the lowest building density in the Uplands at Mauna Kea. Steps from G-1 is the complex's private recreation center, with pool, Jacuzzi spa, barbecue grill, tables and chairs, chaise lounges, outdoor shower and bathrooms. It's also a 2-minute drive to either of two of the U.S.'s top-rated beaches, Mauna Kea and Hapuna, which are part of the Mauna Kea resort, but also open to the public.

Guests at Kumulani G-1 can enjoy access to the world-renowned Mauna Kea Beach and Hapuna Prince Resorts*, including 36 holes of championship golf, first-class seaside tennis and workout facilities, two pristine white sand beaches, and upscale restaurants and shops. Golfers can experience the reopened Mauna Kea Golf Course, which has been replanted with highly efficient ultra-dwarf Tifeagle Bermuda grass on the greens and Tifway 419 hybrid Bermuda grass on the tees, fairways and roughs.

Contact us today to reserve your dates. You're Hawaiian vacation is waiting for you.

* Kumulani G1's owners participate in the Amenity Program at Mauna Kea Resort. Thus, guests wishing to receive charging privileges at the Mauna Kea and Hapuna Prince Hotels, as well as free tennis, access to both hotels' fitness centers, discounted golf, and reserved chairs and towels at both hotels' pools and beaches may pay an additional $65 per day, per family. For stays longer than 21 days lower rates are offered for the program. These surcharges are in addition to the annual fee paid by the owner, and are available only when owners of Mauna Kea Resort vacation rental properties pay the annual amenity fees.

Of course, guests may visit both beaches without paying but won’t receive chairs and towels, or use hotel pools or fitness centers. See Rates below for more details.

About Adriana / Yuki

LUVA vacation rentals is a full service rental and property management company located in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Adriana / Yuki purchased this condo in 2001

Why Adriana / Yuki chose Hawaii

The Mauna Kea Resort was chosen for the same reason Laurence Rockefeller chose it back in the 1960s when he had first choice of locations on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island: it is the finest property with the best beaches.

Our condo is perched a bit higher along a ridge of seven other condo buildings that front the fourth fairway, and gets tropical breezes all day long -- in addition to its spectacular views.

What makes this condo unique

Nothing beats waking up with the fresh breezes kissing your skin, deeply inhaling the fragrant air, living in the Hawaiian sunshine, and spending time on Mauna Kea Beach and Hapuna Beach!

Guestbook comments from the manager

What a beautiful house to stay in while here on the Big Island. Convenient and very close to our main building that we went to each day for our conference. We appreciated the amenities available like the seasonings and beach towels. I personally love that my bed in the 3rd room goes into the wall to create so much space during the day. Also lots of space to store things in the space provided. Thanks for renting this house to us, it was a lovely stay.

Perfect vacation stay

  • 5 of 5

We spent eight lovely days at Kumulani G1, with access to the beautiful Mauna Kea Resort. The condo itself is well appointed, very clean, and had everything we needed, including lots of beach toys for the kids. We had one small issue with the fuse box and the owner was there that very day to fix it, which we really appreciated. I love that the condo gives us access to the hotel grounds and beach if we choose to pay the extra money. It's well worth it.

Great setup for a family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We stayed with our three kids for a week. This is our second year in a row, and we'll likely return. The condo works perfectly for us. We buy the $65/day Mauna Kea resort pass and spend all day at the beach. Quite a bargain when we compare it to what we would pay for two hotel rooms or for a villa next to the beach. You'll definitely need a car if you'll be going back-and-forth regularly. The condo itself is clean and has a light and airy feel to it. Everything inside is in great shape. Adriana is responsive and made our stay hassle-free.

Serene setting with excellent access

  • 5 of 5

My first time in Hawaii and I am sure to return. My partner and I had a wonderful time enjoying the spacious environs inside and out. We were serenaded by tropical birds in the morning as we ate breakfast on the lanai. While we don't golf, I was pleasantly surprised at the quiet as I anticipated more lawn mowing. Apparently they grow grass that don't require that kind of frequent maintenance.

We have friends who live nearby and they recommended this area as being the best in terms of weather and easy access to lovely beaches. They were right on! The pool and hot tub one street above the condo was a decent size to swim some laps. Adriana was very responsive and helpful. Next time we will stay longer than 5 days!

Perfect location and love the amenities package.

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time that we stayed in this condo and the fourth time that we stayed in the Kumalani condos. We are a family of 5 and we really appreciated the extra bed. The condo is very lite and airy . The kitchen was well stocked for preparing our meals. We typically hit Costco and make most of our meals while we stay. Our family really likes the Mauna Kea beach and the amenities package allows us to convienantly use it. The condos are nice, quiet and peaceful. The golf course is beautiful and we enjoy walking or running on it early in the morning before the golfers get started. We love leaving the windows and sliding doors open while we sleep and feel very safe doing so.

Great place to stay at the Mauna Kea Resort

  • 5 of 5

This 2/3 bedroom condo is a great place to stay at the Mauna Kea Resort. The living and dining room combined with the large windows going around, gives you spectacular view of the golf course and the blue ocean. Sitting out on the lanai in the evening to watch the sunset, can not be described as nothing less than one of God's gifts to man. A very quiet, peaceful and relaxing place to stay.

Besides the beaches, it is not far from places such as shopping, snorkeling, and manta ray swimming. The Hawaiian Café up in Waimea was a great place for a true hawaiian breakfast.
