About Barbara Casavant

My husband, Ed, and I finally took the plunge - sold our house north of Boston and are now residents of Middletown, RI, as of August 2013! We've been married 52 years. We have two children, six grandchildren, one great grandson and one dog, a Labradoodle named George. I have a wonderful mother-in-law, who grew up in Newport and loves to spend time with us when she can.

Barbara Casavant purchased this apartment in 2009

Why Barbara Casavant chose Newport East

We have been vacationing in Newport for many years and decided it was time to purchase our own 'Seaside Escape'! We thoroughly enjoy all that Newport has to offer. Our children and grandchildren enjoy Newport as much as we do, and we know we will have frequent visitors!

What makes this apartment unique

This sunny vacation rental is close enough to walk, bike or ride to all of the wonderful activities in and around Newport, including both First and Second Beaches. Our location offers an escape from the crowds and tourists at the end of the day. It has a beautiful yard our renters can enjoy for grilling and relaxing and a deck/balcony off the master bedroom.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Barb and Ed,

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay here. The accommodations were very comfortable and the location was great! We also loved the outdoor deck – it’s great. We plan on returning next year! Thanks again.

Pride of ownership standout property!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was great, and the owners were extremely attentive. They asked several times if there was anything we needed, or if there was anything they might have missed, and there was nothing we needed, and they didn't overlook anything. Our stay was great, our girls loved Georgie! The location of this property is stellar. My wife and I appreciated the care they took in making our stay enjoyable. Thanks so much for the hospitality!!! It was top notch! Gary & Kim Williams from St Peters, Mo.

Wonderful and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We had the good fortune of booking Barbara and Ed's home while attending a wedding in Newport. Plenty of space for four adults, and the sleeping porch could have comfortably accommodated another. Their home had everything you could need; the kitchen was well equipped, beds were comfortable, very nice towels and linens, the place was spotless! Barbara and Ed live in the first floor unit, and were very accommodating to our needs, and are right there to give you tips on what to do and where to eat. They also have the cutest dog George who greeted us in the yard each day. The location was great, short drive or walk to beaches, restaurants, shopping, etc. We would love to stay with the again the next time we find ourselves in the area!
