Excellent stay at this VRBO. The views were unbelievable. Clean, organized, well stocked, and comfortable. Great for day trips to Limerick, Shannon, Galway, etc. No negative comments. I would give fair warning to my friends in America to be ready to drive on small 1 lane roads (challenging but beautiful). Would go back any time. Peppers Pub was excellent. Music was authentic and so was the service (good and friendly). Enjoy
Have recommended this place to all my friends!
Our family stayed in this beautiful home for a week in September 2018 and we couldn't have been happier! The house was immaculate inside and out and so perfectly laid out with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. There were thoughtful items included in virtually every room, from a small collection of novels to read, extra phone chargers available to an entire collection of brochures on every conceivable place you might wish to go while staying in Ireland. The kitchen was well-stocked with appliances and every modern convenience. I could have been happy simply spending the week admiring the beautiful views as the house is situated on top of a hill with a fantastic view of the loch below. The owners and their parents were gracious, helpful and simply delightful. We hope to return someday soon and will definitely want to stay here again!
Beautiful Home! Wonderful Time!
Our whole family highly recommends staying at this home! True, it will be a bit of travel to the Cliffs of Moher, the Wild Atlantic Way, King John's Castle, Blarney Castle, Guinness Brewery, Jameson Distillery, Lahinch Golf Club golfing day and the many pub's in between, however, we were able to accomplish all of that and also experience living in the country side with the peacefulness it contains. Really the travel was part of the experience for us because we were able to see so much country and really it didn't amount to a whole lot of time. Coming home each evening to the jacuzzi and sauna helped us to relax even more. Waking up every morning to the beautiful surroundings left us speechless at times. I have to mention Pepper's, a pub located nearby. The food was among the best we had during our stay and the traditional music was absolutely the best we heard on the whole trip. We highly recommend that pub and experience. We felt at home from the minute we walked in the door and appreciate the kindness and hospitality of Mr. and Mrs. Williams who met us and led us to the home on day one. There was also a cake waiting for us upon arrival that was so good it did not last long with the 8 of us wanting more. If we make it back to Ireland we would love to stay here again and we recommend not missing out on staying at this wonderful home!
Luxury in a stunning location
We have stayed in many self-catering holiday homes over the years, in several European countries. Corlea House was, without doubt, the best. The situation is perfect, with stunning views over Lough Graney and beyond. The East Clare Way (a walking trail) passes the house, and there are lovely walks in all directions, direclty from the property. The well-stocked village shop in Flagmount is a 10-minute walk down the hill. At the start of our stay, we were warmly welcomed by Mary and Vinnie. The house itself is luxurious. We enjoyed using the well-equipped kitchen and adjoining sunroom. Each of the four bedrooms has a luxury en-suite shower room, with powerful 'surround showers' - wonderful! Unusually for self-catering accommodation, the beds are really comfortable. We had a brilliant time at Corlea House, and would highly recommend this stunning property.
The reviews don't lie. It is still beautiful, luxurious, fully equipped big house with gorgeous view. The caretakers are really nice and helpful. There were no problems.
We would love to stay there again!
Best house in Ireland!
My family and I (7 adults total) just returned from a three week trip to Ireland - beginning our trip at the Corlea House for a week. I was a little apprehensive about booking the house sight unseen, but believe me, I had nothing to fear. This house has everything! Each bedroom (there are four) has super comfy beds and en-suite bathrooms (with great water pressure in the showers). The main living areas of the house were spectacular. We spent most of our time in the "sunroom" - which provided views of the lake as well as green fields - and cows! The kitchen lacks for nothing - seriously, every kitchen gadget, pan and utensil were available. The kitchen is beautiful - with lots of modern touches. The dining room seats 10-12, and also has a beautiful view of the rolling hills. There is a washer/dryer in the butler's pantry, as well as a half-bath. When we arrived at the house, Vincent met us, gave us a tour, and insisted that we contact him with any questions/concerns. There was even a chocolate cake and carton of milk from Mary in the refrigerator! Such a thoughtful touch! Upon checkout, Vincent asked that we call him before we left, and when he and Mary arrived, to our surprise, he asked us not to do anything in the way of cleaning - they had it covered! There is a pub about 2-3 miles down the road that has music twice a week. The closest large town is Ennis (about 40 minutes away). We went to Ennis quite a bit - lots of fun! I will say that in my opinion, a car is an absolute necessity when renting this house. There is a small grocery store down the street - but for large shopping, Ennis would be closest. We did hire a private coach to take us to Dingle, and the Connemara Way. Could have done it with our rental car - but then the driver would have missed out. Both Dingle and Connemara were quite a distance - full day excursions. All in all, we were thrilled with Corlea House. It is absolutely beautiful. We would rent it again without a second thought. If you are considering this property, don't hesitate! Just know that it is a bit off the beaten path - so if you wish to see the main tourist attractions, you will be driving quite a bit. If you wish to rent a marvelous house in the Irish countryside, look no further.
