Janet & Scott are your hosts. We are a husband and wife team and we live nearby. We own and operate Mission Beach Villas, a highly rated vacation rental management business in San Diego.

We are available 7 am to 10 pm to answer questions during your stay.

Our storefront rental office, Mission Beach Villas, is a mile away as well, so if you need anything feel free to stop by! If you have an early flight, you may stow your luggage at our office so you can go to lunch or hang out on the beach until check-in time. And if you have an afternoon flight on checkout day you may also stow luggage. Just coordinate these details with us and we are happy to accommodate.

Before your stay, we are happy to suggest our favorite restaurants, and tourist attractions and will help you get acquainted with the area.

The location is the best spot of all of Mission Beach. It is on the south side of Santa Clara Place (the only traffic light in North Mission Beach), which means a non commercial area, bigger property line and a backyard that you are free to enjoy. It is far enough (1 mile) north of the roller coaster area so it's very removed from the tourist noise. We are off of the main boulevard and on one of the tiny inner courts with friendly neighbors and a quiet homey atmosphere.

The best thing about our neighborhood is that there is so much within walking distance that you may not need a car. You could just take a taxi from the airport (6 miles away), get dropped off here and you're at the beach! We have local restaurants, trendy beach bars, excellent coffee spots, and breakfasts cafes all within a few short blocks. Sea World is just 3 miles away.

Recreational opportunities abound. It is within walking distance to Santa Clara point where there are numerous recreation activities and rentals available including: stand up paddle boards, kayaks, jet skis, windsurfing, catamarans, sail boats, water ski boats, and even jet packs. There are group classes and private lessons available in all of these activities. What's more there are free yoga classes on the beach each day.

It is equally centered between Belmont Park (the roller coaster area) and Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach, which are both 1 mile away, making this location accessible to the action if that's what you want.

You will have private access to the back guest house. You can enter the property through either our shared front gate or shared back gate and go directly to the back patio where the guest house is located. You may come and go as you please.

We offer keyless entry to make your arrival as easy as possible. There are no keys to lose, just a simple 4 digit passcode to remember.

The back patio area is shared with your hosts, though we don't use it much. You are welcome to hangout on the patio and use the fire pit, barbecue and tiki bar. We mainly use the front patio for ourselves and our son. We do pass through the patio space occasionally when we take our trash out or when we go out to our cars located behind the home.

Included with the rental is the use of a surfboards, boogie boards, beach towels, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, sand toys for the kids, and use of our beach cruiser bikes.

If you bring a car we will provide you with one parking space. Keep in mind that the space will accommodate only a mid-sized car. A mini van or compact SUV might fit but anything larger will need to park on the street. Street parking is free but can be difficult to find during the summer months. If you rent a car, we recommend selecting an economy to midsize car. Please let us know in advanced if you are bringing a car.

This cozy little beach guest house is located just footsteps away from the sand! It's positioned in a gorgeous beach community on a super narrow strip of land between the Pacific Ocean and Mission Bay. Walk in either direction (West or East) and you'll encounter pristine white beaches. Both sides have wide boardwalks for bicycle riding or walking. On the bay-side you'll enjoy a relaxing sail bay with a calm atmosphere, while on the ocean-side you'll enjoy ocean waves for surfing and a lively beach scene. Either way, you'll call it paradise. We simply call it home!

The guest house is detached and separated from our main house. You will enter from our shared front gate and proceed down the side walkway to the back patio where you will find the guest house.

The space features a small bedroom, bathroom, living room, and a kitchenette. The bedroom and bathroom are separated by a privacy curtain. There is a full-size bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. The space is very small and is best for a couple or two friends who are pretty comfortable with each other. We allow up to four people but expect to be in tight quarters.

The kitchen does not have an oven but it has a dual stove top, a small fridge, microwave, toaster, and Keurig coffee maker along with all the cookware and dishes you'll need.

The living room comes complete with a flat screen TV. It is equipped with Roku which includes Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and many other channel options available with your login credentials. We also offer free WIFI and plenty of outlets to keep you plugged in.

Best of all, the guest house includes air conditioning which you are free to run to keep the space cool when needed during the warm months, a rare luxury in the beach areas of San Diego.

This unit includes onsite parking for one car (compact to mid-size).

If you don't bring a car you will be fine. Many guests come without one and get around quite easily. Restaurants, shops and convenience stores are within walking distance. It is less than a 10-15 minute walk to Belmont Park where there is a giant roller coaster, rides, restaurants, bars, and shops.

We include 2 bikes for your use with this rental. The bikes are one-speed beach cruisers and are a bit lived in but you'll look like a local riding them! Riding bikes along the boardwalk is usually the most scenic way to get around and take in the atmosphere. There are bike paths on the boardwalk on both the ocean side and bay side of Mission beach.

There is a bus stop a few yards away that travels down Mission Blvd and will take you to Old Town in minutes. At Old Town there is a major transportation hub where you can transfer to any other bus line or transfer to the Trolley (San Diego's metro line) which will take you downtown.

Uber/Lyft options are readily available for local transport at an affordable rate. If you've never used this service before download the phone app and you may find a discount code for first-time riders online.
