The Most Spectacular Views Available on Edisto Island

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 7 nights

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 4 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

Never before available home on the point of a private gated island with 320 degree views of the ocean and marsh on exclusive Edingsville Beach.

Pyramid Pointe is the perfect getaway for those who want great views of the beach and Edisto Island’s unique tidal marsh, in a beautiful and relaxing setting. The house sits at the end of the road with unobstructed views of the marsh and the beach. Pyramid Pointe takes full advantage of the natural beauty that surrounds it, with glass walls in every room facing the ocean, balconies off of each of the three levels, and a large covered porch along the entire creekside of the house. Whether you are watching birds or dolphins in the marsh, or looking out to sea, inside or out, you will be able to appreciate the breathtaking views and tranquility of our unique location.

The house itself, designed to compliment the natural surroundings, combines the privacy of three bedrooms, each with a full bath, with spacious living and dining areas, including a dining table that comfortably seats twelve. The living area includes both a sitting area and a TV area, which includes satellite HDTV. WiFi broadband is provided.

Access to Eddingsville beach is an easy walk or bike ride through the Jeremy Cay community, or a quick paddle or boat ride through the marsh. We have kayaks and/or motorized boats and bicycles for rent. Access to the beach is restricted and it is never crowded. Shells and fossilized sharks teeth are plentiful. Our dock is right behind the house, which provides both easy access to the water, and also a great place to sit and watch the abundant life in the marsh.

The marsh itself is also a wonderful place to explore. From the house you can motor or paddle all the way to Frampton Inlet – a great place to find shells, picnic, or check out the uninhabited island across the channel.

Fishing, shrimping and crabbing can be done from our dock thirty feet from the porch. The creek is accessible by boat or kayak 24 hours a day. Dolphins patrol the creek daily, swimming within 30 feet of the porch and within feet of the dock.

Enjoy the unobstructed view of the beach from decks located on every level with a master bedroom deck 3 stories from the ground. Or relax in the 2 person swinging chair or a rocker on the covered porch while you gaze out on miles of marsh while enjoying the constant sea breeze.

One of the things we love most about Edisto is the fresh local seafood and produce. From the house you will be able to see the shrimp boats that will be delivering their catch to the local seafood markets that day. Our fully equipped kitchen and infrared grill allow you to take full advantage of these delights, although you will also have access to excellent readymade local specialties to eat at home as well as several restaurants.

If you have rented a home at Edisto Beach, Jeremy Cay or Cowpens before, you will find Pyramid Pointe offers a level of privacy and view unmatched by any other property in South Carolina.

Edisto itself offers golf, a state park with several miles of trails for hiking or biking, charter fishing, gift stores, and public beaches. Charleston, with all of its historical sites, fine dining, and aquarium is an easy 45 minute drive.

Come and enjoy what we have had to ourselves all these years, a little piece of paradise surrounded only by nature. Please visit our website at for more detailed information.

About The Owner

The Hiller's have been vacationing at Edingsville since 1969 when there were 3 homes on the entire island. The home, known as Pyramid Pointe, was built by our family in 1986 and just recently completely renovated.

The Owner purchased this house in 1986

Why The Owner chose Edisto Island

Edisto Island is what Hilton Head was in the 1960's, secluded, quiet and without commercial development. It is the only island remaining in South Carolina that fits that description. Laid back, quiet, uncrowded, pristine all describe life on Edisto.

What makes this house unique

No neighbors, cars or crowds. At Pyramid Pointe it is your option whether you ever see another soul or remain surrounded only by nature and the many birds and animals that live there. No where else can you look across the marsh, beach and ocean for 15 miles without seeing another building.

Amazing location. Dock needs to be repaired.

  • 4 of 5

Overall, we had a great time and loved the opportunity to get to know Edisto in the off-season. The location was perfect, and the wildlife and beachcombing was amazing.

There are a few things we'd like to point out, however. Please know that we are all outdoors folks, and given the description and reviews on VRBO, we expected relatively rustic conditions. The house met the description and we were satisfied with it, though at least two things could have been better presented.

First and foremost, the dock was broken with the connecting ramp lying out of reach on the river portion of the dock. It was not mentioned at the time of the booking. This was a problem, as boating/kayaking was a big reason why we chose Pyramid Pointe and Edisto. We had to make our way through a lot of sticky mud to launch and return. Not good for us, and not good for the river banks. Since we choose to paid extra money to rent the kayaks, dock use was obviously assumed, and it was very disappointing to find it in a state of disrepair.

Second, the wifi never worked. We contacted the owner and he was prompt to answer telling us we should restart the modem and look for the "pyramid pointe" wifi. It never appeared in spite of several attempts. Many of us are quite familiar with networking and it seemed most likely that the property wifi is NOT an open network. Presence of working wifi was part of the listing, so it was disappointing to find this unfixable.

Otherwise, we had a great time and found the Pyramid to be as expected.

Owner's Response: At the time of booking the dock was fully functional. Unfortunately between booking and arrival Hurricane Irma arrived and completely destroyed it along with just about everyone's dock on the island. Given there are only two dock builders we did everything we could to get it repaired prior to arrival, the dock was replaced but the barge was unable to get in there to reset the ramp and we refunded any rental costs associated with the boats or kayaks as a result. The internet is AT&T and literally at the end of the line. That line was also completely submerged during the hurricane and AT&T was unable to resolve the outage prior to this guests arrival.

A Fisherman’s Paradise

  • 5 of 5

First you must know that you will almost never see another house like this one. I thought it was just a cool A-Frame house from the picture, but it is a full pyramid. This may seem like a small novelty to most people, but it really helps to let you feel like you are in a different world. Which really allows you to switch everything off, and enjoy your vacation.

Okay, the house “looks” cool, is that it? Not even close. The house sits right on the salt flats, and has a floating dock. Even though I went during the summer, which is not the time to go if you want to do some fishing. I was still able to catch a variety of fish every day, not to mention we got a fair amount of blue crabs in the cage that is provided for you. For bait, if you don’t want to buy any. You can use a cast net for shrimp and minnows, and a minnow trap. During low tide, you can catch enough shrimp and minnows to keep your bait in stock for fishing that day and typically part of the next. I also want to add that if you use a cast net to catch your bait. That you will catch several surprises on your trip. I caught a bunch of mullet, trout, and even a sheepshead just using the net. My dad was quite shocked when I got the sheepshead. Also, even though we did not catch them we saw several other aquatic animals as well. From the porch, you could see dolphins, and we also spotted some red drum, and Spanish mackerel cruising around the dock.

The view is beyond beautiful from every part of the house. There are 4 decks to sit on, but only 1 is covered. Typically, the breeze is just strong enough to keep any mosquitos away without blowing everything over and feels amazing on those hot days. While the days are great, the nights are even better. You really do forget how many stars are up there, but this place will help you to remember. Oh yeah, and if you have never sat on a porch and watched storms roll past, this is the place to give it a shot.

The owner also has other great deals. For 6 or 7 kayaks, the rental fee was only $150.00 for the entire week. I looked around to see what the normal fee would be, and it blew my mind. For 1 kayak, you normally spend a few hundred dollars to rent for the week. Yet, you get at least 6 when you stay here. Then, if you rent them and stay somewhere else, you must figure out how to get the kayak to the water. But at Pyramid Pointe, you just drag them down to the dock and push off.

We Will Be Back!!!!!

Great view..... house needs a lot of work

  • 1 of 5

Looked forward to the seclusion and location. However the house has a lot of damage and our anniversary was ruined by dealing with all the problems. Water leaks, a family of racoons in the ceiling over our bed. It was unclean and grill could not be used. Ice maker did not work. Utensil rusty. Hvac flooded the bathroom and flowed to first floor. View was great, but experience was not. Owner gave lots of excuses, but showed no regret at our experience. Left early! NOT worth the $$$$$

Owner's Response: The condensate drain for the top floor AC unit clogged. That is the only complaint we received and spoke by phone with them. We asked that they turn it off and stay on the second level with a separate AC unit. The tech was there the next day and corrected it. Only then did I receive an email of her other complaints. Raccoons attempting to enter the roof is a known problem well explained on our website. We had the trapper there that day, he installed a one way door where they had bent a piece of metal flashing while hanging upside down 40 feet above the ground. By law they must be trapped. Sometimes that takes a day or two. The remainder of her complaints were simply made up. I traveled the 250 miles myself to inspect after they departed. She did send me a picture of a metal corkscrew that appeared rusty (although unless you lick the top of corks didn't seem problematic to me). It's the beach, a metal object left out overnight will be rusty the next day. We cannot and do not replace kitchen items on a weekly basis although we do annually before the start of the Spring and Summer season.

Beautiful property with very unique home. The views are amazing, and the proximity of fun is better than any place we've every stayed on Edisto. We loved direct access to the creek, yoga class on the dockside deck, evenings on the porch swing, bike rides or paddling to the beach, and a lovely bike ride to Botany Bay. Thank you!

Edisto Intact

  • 5 of 5

I would like to preface this review by stating that my family grew up making annual trips from Northern Ohio to Edisto Island, SC. We have stayed at the State Park, Beachfront Housing and everything in between. Took a six year hiatus and after deciding to return hesitantly settled on Pyramid Pointe as our home base. While some of the changes to the island were disturbing/disappointing - Golf Carts EVERYWHERE, no Bell Buoy Seafood, Piggly Wiggly now called Bi-Lo! - Pyramid Pointe brought us back to the Edisto we knew and loved. As the owner states, be it in a more kind southern way, this is NOT a house for Yuppies (never fear Yuppies... a portion of Edisto Island now seems ready for you). Our Edisto reunion include a new generation (two children under two) and the Pyramid Pointe location provided endless entertainment for all ages. Rent the boats (all of them), bring your bikes (a very nice ride through a soon to be developed area ending where Scott Creek hits the ocean) and leave your golf cart at home!

For anyone asking "Where's the Beach?"... it is about a quarter mile in front of Pyramid Pointe!

Vacation at Edisto

Wonderful place to stay. Spent most of our time on the porches of Pyramid Pointe or out on the water and the beach. A few maintenance issues that were quickly resolved.

Edingsville Beach is Unsurpassed in Sharks Teeth and Fossils. Hop in a boat at our dock located 30 feet from the porch and be fishing in Frampton creek or at the beach in minutes.
