About Marilyn Taylor
We are Louisiana natives now retired. Renting cabins in Colorado since 1993. This is Randy's 5th and last cabin to build in Monarch. The 5th is the best cabin he has built! Crazy about our children and grandchildren. Enjoying life!
Marilyn Taylor purchased this House in 2013
Why Marilyn Taylor chose Monarch
We have built cabins in Colorado for the love of the mountains and the fun of skiing and hunting right out our backdoor. We made many happy memories with our children over the years in Monarch and now want our children to make many happy memories for their children. Randy built this spacious home for them to enjoy what we have enjoyed in the Colorado Rocky Mountains since 1993. We dedicate this home to our grandchildren Blase, Bella, George Taylor and Lawson Cole. We are going to make precious memories with them in the mountains to last a lifetime.

Marylin is a great woman. We have stayed with her and Randy for years. We will definitely be back. House is very well equipped and beautiful.
Beautiful property and site
The house was perfect in a perfect setting and close to skiing. There were 4 adults and 3 kids, ages 2-10. There was room for quite a few more people. We will be back next year.

Thank you Marilyn, and blessings to you and yours!
A great fit for our family who could go, 14 total this time.
This property fit our family to a T. My parents had one of the master bedrooms. My wife and I the other. A son, his wife and teen age daughter one of the other bedrooms. My daughter and her husband and three young children, 7 years old and under had the other bedroom. My son's oldest boy took one of the beds downstairs between the two downstairs bedrooms and my other son had the other bed. It's hard to know whether there are enough beds without seeing it. Lacey's two young boys 7 & 4 went to ski school the first day and had a blast. She skied with her brother and his son. The rest of us watched the skiers or stayed at the cabin and played games. The cabin has a full kitchen and if anything we ate too well while we were there thanks to Lacey's husband, Thomas, being an executive chef in Atlanta. The kitchen was well organized with labels on the cabinets where everything goes. Thomas said it lacked nothing. Four wheel drive is pretty well a necessity to get back and forth from the cabin. When we were leaving there was a two wheel drive pickup that had chains on it that had slid off the road and would take a tractor to pull it out. All our vehicles were four wheel drive so we had no problems getter no in or out. There is no AT&T cellular service at the cabin. The house does have a landline with free long distance. So we were able to call and get in touch with those in our group when they were at Monarch mountain or in town at Salida where there was cell phone coverage. We spent Christmas Day in the cabin watching the grandkids open presents, playing games and enjoying each other's company. Not too much skiing this time as too many injuries with some of us to allow it this year. Monarch is a great family ski mountain. Plenty of diverse terrain with enough variety to satisfy a skier no matter what their ability. Lacey and Thomas had to leave a day early because of flight arrangements. No one was planning on skiing the day they had to leave so we all left and went home the same day they did. I hope that if we do a trip like this again we are able to come back and rent the Taylor Mountain cabin again in the future.
Ski Monarch is the best kept secret in Colorado! Monarch Mountain is one of Colorado's best ski areas; cheap lift tickets, powder snow, family ski packages, learn to ski programs Monarch has it all. Steep terrain, black diamond runs, tree skiing, fresh powder snow and Snowcat skiing attract expert and advanced skiers. Family skiers are drawn to Monarch Mountain for ski deals, fun ski lessons and ski and snowboard rentals. Monarch Mountain has more of an old time ski area feeling than that of a modern ski resort. Whitewater Rafting on the famous Arkansas River is a thrill! Colorado is the land of sinfully good white water and the Arkansas is the best of the best when it comes to rafting and kayaking. Flowing 150 miles from the old mining town of Climax in Lake County east through Colorado, the Arkansas provides some of the most awesome whitewater experiences in the country.
