Nothing works

We LOVE Gulf Highlands, this is our 4th year. Unfortunately this was not a good experience. First impression wasn’t great. Several lights didn’t work, a nice man showed up with towels that were being dried elsewhere because our dryer didn’t work and the shower curtains were very moldy. Initially we contacted the host and he was very responsive. The cleaning lady returned with 1 shower curtain and said she’d try and get batteries for the light controls and light bulbs. Turns out batteries weren’t the issue and some of the light pulls were just missing. Before leaving the property the cleaning lady also informed us that the we shouldn’t worry about the washer even though it sounds like “it’s gonna run away” it also doesn’t wring the clothes out. So we have sopping wet laundry and a non working dryer. So we had to hang dry clothes, host said someone would be out to look at it…. That never happened. We then discovered that the dishwasher does not work. So I ended up doing more work on vacation than I do at home. Once I brought up all the issues and requested some sort of compensation, the host stopped responding. Ended up just sending me 100 for a week of handwashing and hang drying. Sunroom screen door is busted, so there’s birds hanging out in there and the grill is literally crumbling. Lastly…. The home is advertised as a 3 bedroom, they consider the living room a “bedroom”. I will say they did have a supply of raid for the ants lol. So thank you

Good location. Two things that were not really a problem. 1. There were a few ants in the kitchen we checked in. 2. A sleeper sofa in the living room doesn't make a 3rd bedroom (i missed that in the description when i booked). Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Great Host

We booked this stay last minute and had a lot of questions for the Host, Larry. He was fast in his response and very helpful throughout the visit with any questions we had. The location is about a 5 min walk to the beach and has a lot of restaurants nearby. Additionally, there is a pool and mini golf right in the back yard, we did not have children with but my brother next door did and that was a huge plus for them, and we enjoyed it as well. Overall, we had a great stay!

We had a fabulous stay, It had everything needed for our family of 4. AC was amazing! Short walk to the beach and pool. The location to all the restaurants and shopping was great too. We woudl definitely stay here again!

Great Location

Great location with a pool right out back and short walk to the beach. The house is set up and decorated nicely; we would stay again. Being a rental, there is some general wear and tear that could use a little maintenance to keep it in good shape and would take the unit from good to great, but overall was a nice stay.

Vacation Get Away

Everything was great. The pawn trees in back needs trimming. The grill in the back was falling apart. You had to be careful cookin on it. Its really a fire hazard.

Perfect

We absolutely fell in love with this townhouse! It was very well maintained, the decor was lovely, and the beds were comfy! The kitchen had everything you would need to cook up a delicious meal. There is literally a pool in the back yard and the beach is an easy 5 minute walk. The only negative thing I can say, is the floors could really use a good scrubbing. We couldn't walk around inside barefoot without our feet getting dirty, but it wasn't a deal breaker. We would definitely stay here again!
