Mariposa at Academy Place

Academy Place Mariposa is located around the beautiful Academy Place Courtyard in downtown Crested Butte, Colorado. A new addition to Crested Butte vacation rentals, Academy Place has luxury finishings, large and updated appliances, and beautiful rentals for an ideal vacation. Mariposa is located very near bus stops to access both Mt. Crested Butte and RTA routes, as well as being extremely walkable to Elk Avenue’s restaurants and shops just a few short blocks away. Academy Place is just between the main street and the more commercial area with the grocery store and movie theater, making it an ideal location for both privacy and accessibility.

Mariposa is a cottage, meaning you will have the entire home for yourself! It is a three bedroom, ideal for families with younger kids or those happy to use bunk beds. Upon entry, Mariposa boasts a fully equipped kitchen with large appliances and cookware in addition to an expansive living area, dining table, and powder room for convenience. Upstairs you will find the primary bedroom with a King bed and ensuite bathroom. The primary bathroom has a large soaking tub and steam shower. Going downstairs to the lower level, you will find the other King bedroom and the bunk room with four twin beds configured as two bunk beds. Both downstairs bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms.

Mariposa also has a full sized washer and dryer, onsite parking for two cars in addition to available street parking, and a large living room with a gas fireplace, a Smart TV, and Sonos for music. Each bedroom has its own TV as well for cozy entertainment. The outside space includes a private porch with an outdoor propane grill. Please note that this unit does not have air conditioning.

Compared to other Academy Place units, Mariposa is most suitable for families with children looking for a more private and tucked away cottage. It is adjacent to the Academy Place office, the small park with a fountain, and Valerian cottage. Its bunk room allows for a higher sleeping capacity than any of our other three bedroom cottages (eight people maximum), and it is slightly further away from the common Courtyard area. Mariposa is frequently booked in addition to Valerian and Paintbrush for larger groups looking to rent adjacent cottages.
