Luxury home in prime downtown location: views of the Rocky Mountains

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,800 sq ft
Property type house

About the property

3 plus bedroom home w/ incredible views & a 2 minute bike ride to Pearl st mall

We have a beautiful home for you to rent, just minutes from CU & downtown. It's private and quiet, with incredible views of the front range & Boulder. It has a very open floor plan, with 2 bedrooms, a loft and even a beautiful bed from Bali on the deck!

There is a collection of art from around the world, including paintings from Brazil and Cuba, rugs and armoire from Morocco. The kitchen is huge and high end, with stainless steel appliances, travertine floor, cherry cabinets and completely stocked. Beautifully furnished, with tasteful touches like granite counters; walnut trim; a huge redwood deck & hot tub.

Best of all is the view. Huge picture windows and a huge deck open out to a view of the front range from Boulder to Lyons. Toward the back you can see the famous Flatirons of Boulder. The deck features a hot tub, grill, Apricot tree and unique hand carved king size bed from Bali. There's not a better view or location in Boulder. There are no cars or people walking by. The bedding is first class- the best mattresses, goose down comforters, and good cotton sheets. Sheets may be wrinkly because we line dry- but they are environmentally correct! Heating is baseboard hot water, for clean, healthy, quiet heat. In summer we have evaporative cooling which is effective and healthy.

I usually live here, but am often out of town or out of the country. I have an eco-lodge in Africa (amongst other things) so am often gone. The house is fully licensed with the City of Boulder (RHL-0006481) and is zoned for no more than 3 unrelated people- so is perfect for any size family, or a few couples,. I live separately downstairs when I'm in town; there are 4 bedrooms available downstairs that can be booked in addition to this listing ($100/bedroom with bathroom). There is a separate, private entry downstairs, and the upper floor is completely private.

Also- we have some bikes for you to borrow, and a new Intense Tracer 275c to rent for a small daily charge (see photo)!

The Most Beautiful Spot in Boulder

  • 5 of 5

This beautifully equipped Boulder home with panoramic views of the Colorado mountain range cannot be beat. The house is cozy, classy, and peaceful, a retreat in itself, with a massive deck, exotic outside bed, and Jacuzzi, enjoying Boulder under the star filled night sky or gorgeous, breezy, sunny days. The large kitchen space can hold any number of cooks and is perfect for family or friend-filled dinners.

We are grateful that we could call this house our home during our enriching Boulder/Naropa U experience this March.

Thank you for such a rare, beautiful, and memorable Boulder stay.

A great HomeAway overlooking Boulder scenery

  • 4 of 5

The home was as advertised, providing great views, large living space and kitchen. The address was very conveniently located near the university, which was our main attraction for the weekend.

As a caution to larger groups, since it is a older home (per owner) the water heater & pressure were noticeably low, which made our early starts with a large group a bit challenging. Also people living down stairs were vocal about floor noise, so we had to tip toe around. Aside from that highly recommended.

Owner's Response: Thanks John for the positive review & recommendation- just to clarify a few points- 1/ The water pressure is on the low side, but hardly affects anything- I've never had anyone comment on it before. Perhaps we were watering the garden / others were using water at the same time. 2/ 'People living downstairs' were not vocal about the noise, at all- in fact I was the only person living downstairs, and I wasn't disturbed at all. I had sent a message to John and his guests, welcoming them to the house, and reminding them about a few 'house rules' - including where to park, and no shoes in the house. The no shoes policy is partly about the noise, and partly about wear and tear... Not meant to make you feel uncomfortable in any way- sorry it was interpreted in this way. Otherwise- thanks again for highly recommending our home- we hope to see you back!

Gorgeous view of the Boulder Valley and the Foothills

  • 5 of 5

My husband, dogs, and I had a lovely time at this VRBO property in Boulder. The views were absolutely stunning from the living room, and the deck off the back of the rental was terrific - very spacious, and even though we didn't sleep outside, the added touch of the Indonesian-esque queen-sized bed surrounded by mosquito netting was a beautiful touch. Greg was a very responsive and helpful VRBO landlord/owner, and we were fortunate to have him available to us.

This is an incredible home- the views are great- the deck is incredible. Try the outside bed- the price is worth it for that alone!
