About this property

⚡️ NO CLEANING FEES ⚡️
Escape to this secluded cabin in the North Georgia mountains, perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway. The property features a creek that runs through it, providing a peaceful and serene atmosphere. Relax in the hot tub and enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding forest. The cabin is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a full kitchen, comfortable bed, and cozy living area. Book your stay today and experience the beauty of Blue Ridge!

Read the whole section here and the House Rules carefully before you book. Confirming the booking means you accept the House Rules.

Our cabin - On the Rocks is perched on the edge of a rocky cliff surrounded by wooded forest and seasonal mountain view. It is not a safe place for small children to roam around unsupervised. You can cozy up by the wood burning fireplace (only in winter- Oct to April) or the firepit in the back yard (down 20 steps), explore the trail surrounded by mountain laurels and other wildflowers (Don’t forget to grab a coffee and sit at the table we made from a fallen tree along the way) to the old railway tracks for a perfect Insta-photo opportunity. Follow the stream on your way back and you will end up at the driveway - do stop and enjoy the Rhododendrons and Mountain Laurels on your way back (during bloom season)

Bring your hiking boots and a water bottle and hit the Benton- MacKaye trail, a major branch of the Appalachian Trail.

Relax in the evening in the basement porch and enjoy the Hot Tub that is always set at 100 degrees in a well-lit porch or sit by the fire pit (fire wood included) and toast some marshmallows over the fire.

We provide starter supplies of most amenities (toiletries, dishwashing pods clothes detergent, toilet paper, trash can liners etc.) but they will not be replenished during your stay unless you request it in advance (extra fee applies). We supply all towels, bedding, linen etc.
You may find some food items in the pantry as we often use the Cabin ourselves. You are welcome to use them if you wish, but please finish or discard any leftover perishable items that you use. Please do not leave opened sauce bottles in the pantry. Always check the label for your allergies. We are not responsible for any illness/adverse reactions that could occur related to any specific food.

Roads up here

We want you to enjoy your stay at our Cabin, but we also want you to be aware of the road conditions. The last mile to our Cabin is a gravel and unpaved road that can be a bit tricky to drive on. If you are used to driving in the mountains, you should have no problem. But if you are more comfortable on paved roads, you may find it challenging especially when it rains or snows. The HOA does its best to maintain the road, but sometimes there are holes and ruts. We suggest using a high clearance AWD / 4WD SUV for a smoother and safer ride. Once you're up here, you will feel fully secluded and settled into your romantic getaway!

Attention all Jeep 4Xe (and other Hybrid vehicle) owners!

A Stage-2 charger, 40 AMP (Grizzl-e) is available for you to use free of charge. Charger is located right next to the stairs that go up the porch next to the outdoor faucet on the Cabin wall.
Note: The charger only has J1772 plug (Does NOT fit Tesla and Tesla to J1772 adapter usage is prohibited). Owner is not responsible any damage to your vehicle due to proper or improper use of the charger.

You will have access to the whole Cabin including the basement apart from one closet in the second bedroom and the crawl space.

You will use a smart lock to unlock both the main floor and the basement. The lock codes are valid for the duration of your stay.

We have always loved traveling as a family and staying in unique places. When we moved to Georgia, we took a trip to the North Georgia Mountains because we had heard so much about the natural beauty of the area and wanted to experience it for ourselves. When we arrived, we were immediately struck by the grandeur of the mountains. The rolling hills and lush forests were unlike anything we had ever seen before. There was a wide variety of wildflowers and flowering shrubs. It was spring and the mountains were dotted with rhododendrons and dogwoods, the heavenly aroma was everywhere in the air. We spent our days driving through the mountains and exploring multiple hidden waterfalls. We saw numerous cabins nestled in the woods of this area, and we couldn’t stop thinking about how great it would be if we could buy a vacation home in the north Georgia mountains. We went back home that day, but that idea started brewing and growing stronger in our heads. Finally, within 2 weeks we started looking for a few properties and fell in love with this rustic and charming little cabin.

Why they chose this property

Everything moved quickly with the help of our amazing realtor friend, and we purchased our first cabin in the mountains. We decided to call it On the Rocks! We both enjoy hosting friends and family in our home, so, we decided to share our lovely vacation home with guests and joined the Airbnb and VRBO hosting family. Two days after we purchased this cabin, we had our first mountain home experience. We were preparing to come to the cabin over the weekend to start renovations when we got a storm warning. Next day we woke up in the morning and saw that our outdoor Ring camera showed that a tree fell onto the driveway. We got ready and rushed to the cabin. When we reached the cabin, we realized that a small tree was not the only thing that had fallen into our driveway. There were two huge poplar and pine trees over 100ft tall that had gotten uprooted in the storm and had fallen over to completely block the way to the cabin. The sight was both awe-inspiring and terrifying at once.

What makes this property unique

But love conquers all! With a chainsaw in hand, we started cutting through branches to make our way in. As we worked together, we realized that this was a gift from Mother Nature herself - an opportunity for us to build something beautiful together! You see, we had been thinking about building a fence alongside the driveway for safety reasons - so why not use these trees? We got some help from friends and cleaned up the driveway. Then we reclaimed one of the massive fallen trees to build the fence that you are seeing now - it took us weeks of hard work, but it was worth it! The fence is beautiful! We built a few sitting benches as well - perfect for romantic evenings under starry skies. We love spending our evenings sitting on the porch and listening to sounds of nature - crickets chirping, birds singing - feeling completely at peace being away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We spent 3 months renovating this cabin to make it perfect for you - our wonderful guests! And now you can experience all this too! Come stay in our vacation home at “On The Rocks” - where love meets nature!
