About Amy Lane

My husband (an architect) and I were involved in the original development and recently repurchased some of the loft units based on the success and popularity of our loft we manage in the same building (listing 98379). As original design/developers, we are committed to make more of these truly unique Estes Park properties available to those who are looking for a 'less rustic' Estes Park retreat.

Amy Lane purchased this condo in 2006

Why Amy Lane chose Estes Park

Estes Park is one of the most stunningly beautiful places in the country. Hiking, climbing and any outdoor activities are right out the front door and one could spend years exploring the miles of trails in the National Forest and Rocky Mountain National Park.

What makes this condo unique

Sitting on the deck in the morning sun was my favorite thing to do. The great room also has so much light, it almost feels like being outside. This property is one of a kind in Estes Park, for those with a love of the Mountains, but not the 'cabin' type. It's a great combination of a mountain getaway with all the amenities you'd expect of a luxury property.

Very nice, great location, but we didn't get a good night's rest

  • 4 of 5

This property is a phenomenal place to stay in Estes. It's the perfect location right on the main part of the strip of Elkhorn. The balcony is very nice & roomy, with great views of the quaint little street. The heater and the fireplace work very well to heat the place right up if you get cold.

This is a cozy place with nice nice furnishings, decor & design, that has everything you need. It's very clean, although I noticed some stains on bedding that was a little awkward, but it was still clean, if that makes sense. Just being honest here.

This was the first place we stayed on our 4 night trip. I was excited about how nice it is & the location, but by far most expensi

I noticed the bed looked to be sagging a bit when first got there, but didn't think much of it. I thought I remembered a review where owner said they just replaced bedding, but thought maybe I was mistaking. We did not go to bed the night before our trip, so we really needed a good night's rest & I was looking forward to that rest at this rental. I took a 30 min nap & it slept fine.

About 4:00 am, we were awakened by a couple crackling sounds, followed by what sounded like a snap. We couldn't tell if it was the frame, the headboard, or the supports. We tried to go back to sleep for an hour, while it kept making little crackling sounds, and finally around 5:00 am, we decided to pull the mattress off the bed and sleep on the floor. We were afraid it was going to collapse under us & scare us to death or even worse, injure us. (Or break the bed worse).

When we got the mattress off the bed, we quickly saw the problem/s. The center support was broken in 3 places, including one of support legs laying on the floor, and it looked like it was probably holding the mattress by a thread.

I immediately let the owner know at 4:00 am on homeaway messenger & again at 5:00 am, when the problem was identified. No response, so I texted at 9:00 am, bc I was concerned for their next renter, even if we kind of got the shaft.

So with that said, this place is very nice and I would stay there again if the budget allows, & even recommend it to a friend, but the owner acknowledged that the support was not good.

"Obviously the quality of the support is not wonderful, and I apologize for it not working for you. Thank you for letting us know right away, as we do have guests coming in tonight, so we'll need to get it fixed." So, I'm sure it's fixed and is fine now, but limited rest for us there

Great location

  • 5 of 5

This was a really super location in the best part of Estes Park. We loved getting takeout dinner and bringing it back to the balcony overlooking main street and people watching while we ate and had a glass of wine. You could walk to all the shops and restaurants in town. The condo was very spacious and upscale, even nicer than it looked in the pictures. It was just a couple miles to RMNP. The owners were super nice, and when we unexpectedly had to leave a day early when we found out we had been flooded by Hurricane Harvey, Amy graciously refunded our last night's rent. When we come back to Estes Park, we would for sure choose to stay here again. I would be very surprised if there was a nicer place to stay in town than this condo.

Spectacular property - perfect location

  • 4 of 5

The ONLY reason this is not a 5-star review is because the bed was broken and we had to sleep on the pullout. (As soon as we laid down, the bed didn't feel secure - when my husband looked under the bed, there was a wooden peice broken).

The next morning when I looked for the blow dryer, I found a piece from below the bed so someone knew the bed base was broken and didn't fix it. Not sure if the owner knows this?)

Owner's Response: Thank you for the feedback Kelly. We were actually unaware that previous guests had broken the bed (the bed was a brand new purchase this past Spring, so it should have been in great shape). Our guests that checked out this past Saturday told us there was a problem, so we fixed it immediately. We depend on feedback from our guests to let us know where things may need attention in our busiest season. I apologize there was an issue, and please know in the future, any issue that you let us know about during your stay we will fix as soon as possible so you have the best stay possible.
