We had a great stay. Wendell and Liliana were so friendly and welcoming when we arrived. The house was the perfect size for our group of 10 and we enjoyed both the outdoor and indoor spaces for spending time all together!

It was great having you guys at the ranch. Come back anytime.
The property plan was perfect for our needs. We loved the views from all the outside decks and spent hours outside enjoying the views and weather. Fishing was good and we enjoyed watching a visiting bear one morning! We would definitely stay at the ranch again. The lower level beds were too small for our big and tall grandsons.
We were traveling with family ages 16-80 year olds. This house allowed us plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the beauty of Colorado. My son & I enjoyed fishing and the hospitality of Wendell & his wife. Beautiful home and property. My husband enjoyed the sauna. The entire family enjoyed the Woodland community. Highly recommend!

We had three generations staying together. Loved the restaurants in Woodland than Manitou Springs. Great hiking around. Just wish we caught more fish to throw back into lake. We all had a great time

We were glad to have you at our home. Sorry about the windows. We have had some very severe weather with hail which left some of the windows dirty. However, many of the windows are about to be replaced due to the hail damage on the exterior metal. Spending the usual $400.00 with our window cleaning company right before the replacement didn't seem like the thing to do.
Again we are sorry about the windows.
Hope to have you back again sometime.

If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place! There were 7 of us and there was so much room! It was some much needed family time with my son who attends the Air Force Academy. The owners are so wonderful!

We really enjoyed your family. It's so neat to see the little ones catch there first fish.
We absolutely loved our 10 day stay here! Everything was exactly as pictured, entire area was clean and well-kept. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen was well stocked. This is the perfect location being so close to Woodland Park with lots of other activities nearby as well.
Communication with Wendell was 10/10, very responsive, and was helpful with anything we needed, including letting us check in a few hours early. Our family truly enjoyed the whole experience and I would definitely stay here again.
Our mountain getaway was the perfect setting for our family of 9. The house is spacious and fully supplied. The owners were friendly & accommodating. We had a great time fishing in the pond; one evening we enjoyed s’mores using the fire pit. “I don’t want to go home” was heard several times from the kiddos. Pretty much sums up our stay!

This home was very well equipped. We enjoyed the big living room and kitchen combo for family time. Plenty of plates, pans, and extras. The outdoors were beautiful and all the different animals plus fishing was good.
The area was close to a lot of fun attractions and to Woodland Park for shopping.
Thank You for sharing. The Chartier Family

Awesome Awesome Awesome!
This was my 2nd time staying at the house in a month. We rented the house for a work retreat/planning. The house was perfect! Awesome kitchen for cooking meals together, beautiful living room to work/play in. The house is just amazing! We plan to use it again! 20 min drive to Garden of the Gods, and 25 to the base of Pikes Peak!

It was great having the group. We are excited about being able to host groups of up to 30 now with the addition of my brothers large home and my fathers. It is a great joy and honor for us to have the ranch and to have it be enjoyed by other groups and families as well.

I couldn't have asked for more! This property had everything for my family of 6 and my friend's family of 5. We went for ATV trails and to check out Manitou Springs. The guys loved fishing in the pond, which allowed for some good time with my friend sipping wine on the balcony. Wendell was super helpful when we needed to find an extra ATV. You will not be disappointed staying here. Great for everyone in our party from ages 9 to 40!
Location was great and the house was beautiful. The only complaint is many of the appliances did not work. If you’re going to rent out property, please make sure everything is indeed working or replace it. The owner did bring “substitutes” for 2 of them, but we just had to live with everything else.

We always strive to provide some to the finest appliances available. Also, we try our best to have backup units in the event of any failures. We were called about the microwave not working and provided a replacement within 15 minutes. The microwave was working the day before. We were also notified about an Ice Maker which didn't seem to be making ice as well as it should. We brought a backup portable ice maker with in 5 minutes of being notified. We don't know what is meant by "had to live with everything else." We even have an extra Refrigerator besides the Viking Double door unit in the kitchen for extra food and drinks. If we had been notified of any additional problems or failures of any type we would have made every attempt to fix any problems. So sorry for any inconvenience.

Beautiful home, surrounded by quiet mountain forest.
The home was beautiful, comfortable and well-maintained. We cooked/grilled every night and appreciated the high-end kitchen and large dining table. The views were spectacular, and we loved the quiet surroundings. The owners were terrific, and even did some late-night maintenance to the road after a strong storm came through, to make driving conditions safe for us. Two things would have made it perfect -- a pull-out sofa bed somewhere (we were a group of adults, so room-sharing got a bit complicated), and more seating space in the living room so that everyone could gather together. Highly recommend this lovely house for a group mountain getaway.

Not as it seems
The property was in a working area that they run a business out of . Loud trucks and noise early mornings . No very secluded as the pictures portray

We are helping a young friend with a place to storage his Asphalt sealing trailer & pickups for just a few more days. So sorry that you heard the noise of his pick up and trailer leaving in the morning. He has a new location which he will be moving to in a few days.
We have only three homes on the 50 acre Ranch and they are far apart from each other. Not sure about the seclusion comment. I don't remember ever having a comment about not being secluded.
I brought by best friend and my daughters best friend. We were visiting my daughter that attends UCCS. Us four had an amazing time, and we left the house only twice in 5 days. The home and location is a vacation all its own.
We played games, karaoke’d and spent nights out on the balcony enjoying the starry nights and the amazing view of Piles Peak.
This home nestled up on a hill in the mountains is quiet, serene and a perfect place to hike.
The owners are fabulous! Definitely recommend.

A great place!
We stayed here with our kids a 3 grand babies over memorial weekend. Came in at night in the dark. And it was dark! Woke up to the view of the backside of Pikes Peak out our bedroom window! Totally amazing. This is a lovely home with plenty of levels, decks and space for you if you have need of a quiet moment. My husband took our 2 year old out fishing and he had room to run and wildlife to look at. He caught his first fish here by himself on an adult rod, even reeled it in by himself. This place is not very far from town but is very private. The owners were close if we needed anything but really respected our privacy. This place is close to 9000 feet in elevation. If elevation bothers you that is good to know. Loved it. No issues with anything. The location, fishing and view are hard to beat!

An amazing experience in an exceptional home!
My fiancee and I with our immediate family spent 4 nights at the house for our wedding in Colorado Springs. The home was very clean, inviting, and well stocked. The setting was peaceful with a view of the Pike's Peak summit. The owners were very accommodating and even had some wine waiting for us after a long day of travel. The location is also very convenient to Woodland Park which had most everything that we needed. Also the home is convenient to Garden of the Gods, and the Pike's Peak auto road, both of which we enjoyed while there. The ten of us felt at home and had ample space for everyone. We love Colorado and had an amazing ceremony which my family and I will never forget. Our final adventure was a snow storm of 26 inches on the day prior to our departure. We just hated being stuck in a beautiful winter wonderland in that setting (Ha Ha). Thank heavens for Wendell's Jeep Wrangler with a snow plow. I would highly recommend this home for anyone wanting some adventure in the Front range or Colorado Springs area. The owners are wonderful people and truly provide everything to their guests.

About the host
Hosted by Wendell Howie
As a former Dallas banker & business owner we traveled to Colordo every year. We were married in the home and travel much of the time. It's our privilege to make the Ranch available for others to enjoy. Our goal is to share this remarkable natural setting with our guests by providing private, warm and luxurious accommodations and a memorable visit to the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
Why they chose this property
We love the Rocky Mountains and the Colorado Springs Region. We purchased the property back in 1999 with my father and brother. In 2001 we had finished our homes. Mine and my brothers homes are approximate approximately 4000 Sq Ft. with my fathers at around 2000 Sq Ft. located right on one of the Trout Ponds. (He fishes from his deck).
What makes this property unique
The Ranch has two beautiful Trout ponds with 'Trout Creek' running thru each. The Pikes Peak National Forest with over 150 miles of trails, is less the 1/2 mile from the Ranch. We are only 5 minutes from the town of Woodland Park and 25 minutes from Colorado Springs.
