Great Vacation Stay

  • 5 of 5

Lovely unit complete with all the necessities. Very clean and well-kept. Great communication with owner and realty management. This is our third annual visit to IOP and is one of our favorite spots. Great location - walk out to the beach or to well-maintained pool. Will definitely rent this unit again.

Great location; room could use some TLC

  • 2 of 5

This review is a mixed bag.

On the plus side - the location (on the beach, pool, easy parking) is great. Customer service was great - I had to call the owner and property manager a few times, and they were very responsive, even on the weekend. I also liked how they had beach chairs and boogie boards available for us to take to the beach.

On the bad side - My biggest gripe was that the mattress in the main room was just awful - it was cheap, thin, and old. It was so bad that I contemplated sleeping on the floor. I also wish they would pay the extra 50 cents to not have the scratchiest toilet paper and thinnest paper towels available - if I am paying a few hundred a night for a room, can I at least have some Charmin? Also, there was only one remote control, so if we wanted to watch TV in the bedroom, we had to get up and get the remote from the living room. Finally, the room had a really musty/moldy smell, and my allergies were in high gear the whole time.

In the end, I was very happy with the location but the unit itself could use some improvements.

Great location... overpriced for what we found

  • 3 of 5

Great location!!! Easy access to beach, pool, restaurants, and grocery store. Perfect location to be able to run back from beach for a break from the sun, refills on ice, etc... Top floor is great for views, but no elevator access. Upon arrival the main bedroom had sheets and pillowcases with hair on them and appeared dirty. We replaced with extra pillowcases. The tv in main bedroom only gets one station. Therefore, we watched movies at night on iPad we brought. Sofa bed is old and needs updating. We put the extra bunk cushions on the sofa bed for sleeping which helped. Condo is small, but functional if not planning to be there often and only have 1-2 people. Fireworks launched right from pier across the parking lot. Viewing from condo location was perfect.

Wonderful little condo with amazing views

  • 4 of 5

We were a family of 4 inclusive of 9 and 13 year old boys. The condo is on the third floor in the middle of the complex with a beautiful view to the ocean and a fishing pier. It had a small balcony which was great to enjoy breakfast and a drink at night. There is a parking lot below the condo, but it really does not interfere with the beauty of the views. The condo has a nice and well stocked little kitchen with cooking equipment, and the owners left a little bag with emergency coffee and snacks which was quite nice, since we arrived in the middle of the night. We slept in the queensize bedroom, our 9 year old in a small alcove by the entrance which he loved, and our 13 year old took to the living room floor, even though it had a pull out sofa. The queen mattress and the pull out sofa mattress were way too soft, so it was hard to sleep on either. There is also very limited closet space, especially if you are 4 people. Other than that the condo is great. Our boys loved the private fishing pier and were out fishing during the day and at night. The beach is wonderful - one can walk into the water very far, so its very good for little kids. Harris Teeter, a food store is right around the corner, as well as an ice cream store, and a few other restaurants. The complex also has a small pool but the water was quite cold when we were there, so kids did not use it. All in all this is a wonderful place with a great view and easy access to many restaurants, as well as downtown Charleston. One last note, you may want to choose a lower level Condo, if you have issues walking , as it was a daily workout climbing 6 flights of stairs especially with luggage and groceries, but that's where you get the awesome views! We all loved it and really enjoyed our time in this great place. Cant wait to go back!
