Wonderful and relaxing stay!

One of the best beach trips we’ve had! My favorite complex and such a great location. The owner was great communicator too. Hope to stay again!

Quiet and Peaceful

This rental has everything you need for a quiet, peaceful escape - was very clean, plenty of space, fully supplied kitchen appliances. Loved having the two balconies. Fairly private compared to other beach properties, but close walk to the beach. Owner was very responsive. Overall a great experience. Would definitely rent again.

Great location on Kiawah Island

Kiawah Island is a beautiful location. The apartment directly faced the ocean with easy access to the beach. The apartment was very nice and I would recommend for a couple staying in the area. If your planning on spending much time in Charleston, the drive is a little long (40-45 minutes), but it was not a bad drive. My only issue was with the bedding, which seemed to be older linens. New linens are definitely in order. We had a great stay and would rent this apartment again.

Condo checked all boxes for visit!

Return visit to Kiawah was for a family reunion. A large home was rented for family visits and meals, but several family members, including my husband and I, rented a one bedroom condo nearby as there were several hours during each day when we worked remote and enjoyed some downtime. We enjoyed working remote on this condo’s oceanfront balcony off the living room and resting on the lounge chairs on the oceanfront balcony off the bedroom. Condo was built in 1982, mostly updated in recent years, and was clean when we arrived. Beach access is only a few steps from condo. Caroline was a delight to work with and responded to inquiries in a timely manner. My husband and I will keep this condo on our preferred list of condos to rent when our travels take us to Kiawah.

False Advertising

We loved the location and the outside of the property. We were disappointed the minute we walked inside. It smelled damp and musty. We thought it was just from being closed up but even after airing it out the smell didn't improve. We think it was the bedroom carpet. The biggest disappointment was finding out that the fireplace was not usable. It was listed in the VRBO listing so we were blindsided. This was the amenity that we were looking for. It was the last week in December and cold and rainy. We could have rented a nicer unit for the amount of money we paid but the fireplace was the selling point.

First, I'm very sorry that this unit didn't work well to meet your needs. I was not aware of the smell but will definitely have our management team investigate and remedy the situation. As far as the fireplace, unfortunately, that is a rule made by our management team for guest safety. Very sorry we weren't able to accommodate and hope you'll give us another chance in the future.

Beautiful views, but disappointed

The condo was in a beautiful location and had enough space for us. At first appearance, the space seemed clean, but looking in the corners, molding, lamps and tables, things were dusty and the windows were dirty..The area rug in the living space and the rug in the bedroom were uncomfortable against bare skin and the decor was dated. Unless you want to golf, it wasn’t the best location but that is on me.

This villa is conveniently located near the Sanctuary Hotel, Night Heron Pool and Park, as well as nearby golf courses, Roy Barth Tennis Center, and restaurants. A great location and view

The condo is located in the best area and it has the best views. The place was dirty with cobwebs in the corner and dust in some spots. We did see around six large bugs (total and on different days). I emailed the property manager about the bugs. While I did not hear from her to find out if they had an exterminator, we did not encounter any more bugs after that. The check-in process was a little hectic as there were so many people heading in and we had to wait for a while before we could get our packet. However, the staff at the resort was great. Overall, we had a great stay. The views at the condo balconies were stunning and we loved the beach access. We were also able to visit the water park and ride bicycles. The condo itself has a nice living room area and kitchen. The bathtub/shower is a little outdated, and of course I would give it higher stars if the condo had been cleaner.

I did respond back twice regarding pest control - once the morning after your email to let you know I'd be reaching out to management to schedule the technician and the second time a few hours later letting you know the technician would be arriving. I pride myself in customer service and communication. Nonetheless, housekeeping issues are inexcusable. We have spoken to our maintenance team regarding your remarks and hope to have corrected any future complaints. We will be happy to offer a discount for your next Kiawah vacation due to the inconveniences.

Great Relaxing Place

Amazing views and right on the beach

We rented this place for my parents who are in their 80's. We chose it due to the location and because it said wheelchair accessible. There were a few stairs to the elevator--but this was fine as my parents are somewhat mobile--but may be a caution if truly wheelchair bound. The views were amazing and there were 2 balcony's which they loved. Weather was somewhat rainy but overall perfect location.

Cozy villa with views of the pristine Kiawah beach

The villa is oceanfront as described. There are views of the beautiful East Beach and ocean from the kitchen, living room, and bedroom. There are also two porches to enjoy. The wifi, all appliances, and A/C were in perfect working order. The king bed was comfortable and the TV in the bedroom was very large and comparable to the one in the living area. Upon entering the condo I smelled a very pleasant fragrance. Later, I found the floors to be so clean that I felt comfortable walking in my bare feet. I found every thing I needed to cook some quick meals and make sandwiches. The dishwasher did a super job cleaning the pots and dishes I used. I was delighted to find two light-weight beach chairs in the closet since I refuse include clunky beach chairs with the things I bring from home and I forgot my straw mat. The resort privileges are excellent. This is a huge amenity that is not included in many of the rentals. My sixteen year old son enjoyed several of the activities offered at Night Heron Park for teens. If you go to KI, you should review all of the activities for children, teens, and families. There are numerous complimentary ones as well as others for a fee. My son wants to go back for a week (we stayed 3 nights) so he can do more. We also utilized the work out facility in West Beach. While driving through the golf course to get there, we noticed a deer eating from a tree alongside the road. We stopped to look and he slowly but gracefully walked across the crosswalk as if he were a pedestrian. (West Beach would be a short bicycle ride which we will rent when we return for a week.) I hope to try some of the restaurants when we return but honestly I just enjoyed hanging out in the villa, going to the beach, working out at the gym with my son, and listening to the waves. Oh, yes I would recommend this villa to a relative or friend. And yes the owner and manager provided excellent customer service. And as stated in the description, I was given a discount.

Very Nice

I think this is a lovely place. We really are enjoying our stay here. The view is perfect and very close to the beach. Pictures are exact of what you find. The bed is not bad, it could probably use a new mattress or gel foam pad topper to make it more comfortable but it's not as bad as I would have thought after reading previous reviews. It's not a dirty place just not as clean as your own home. Mostly dust or sand/salt. I thought it was pretty clean and the musty smell comes from the ocean and when the air is turned up and the condo is closed up. All in all I think it's a great place and I would stay here again.

Quick stay

My husband and I stayed at this villa last week. We have been vacationing on kiawah for nearly 7 years. To be fair the villa is ideally positioned by the nightly heron pool, and commands fantastic views of the ocean, the shower had forceful water pressure, and the chaise lounges on the deck were quite useful for when the beach winds were whipping. The cons to this villa include poor cleaning upon entering. The refrigerator had leftovers from the previous tenant. This prompted my husband and I to clean the entire unit before settling in. Upon check in we were told that we were not permitted to enter until after 430pm, because the cleaning crew was still providing their service, I highly doubt this was the case. At this point there is no foreseeable reason for me to call housekeeping back, because you have already infringed upon my stay. The bed needs to be replaced. Period. End of story, this was by far the single most identifiable cause for my husband and I leaving on Thursday, rather than Friday checkout time. We even attempted to rotate the mattress but this didn't help. Agree with another tenant in that the bedding was piecemealed together. No fitted sheet, a queen spread for a king bed. Two things that any renter should get with a unit is a good bed, and decent cutlery, never of which we're provided. Lastly, the smell of must was quite powerful upon entering this unit, I have never experienced this in any other windswept unit, it's unfortunate, but we left our candles for the next tenant and cleaned the refrigerator so that at least they could start their stay off right.

Perfect Villa for Couple with Small Dog

We just got back from Kiawah today and had an excellent time staying at this villa. The beach is right there just steps down the boardwalk, you can have breakfast on the patio and enjoy the waves crashing. Our small dog felt right at home. The bed was comfortable. The location of Windswept villas is perfect for families since the awesome Night Heron pool is right across the street. We mostly enjoyed the beach. This villa is perfect for a couple with a small dog or one small child. We would stay here again for sure!

3 minute walk to either the beach or the Night Heron Park resort pools; access to which are included with this rental. Villa is showing some normal wear and tear but is in good shape overall. Ocean view was great.

We have been vacationing at Kiawah for 9 years and this villa was a tremendous disappointment. It was clean for the most part except the baseboards, which were covered in dust. There was not a comfortable chair in the whole unit. The only light in the living room was a floor lamp, which did not give enough light if guests wanted to read. The blanket on the bed gave me the creeps -- it's BROWN -- looks like it's 50 years old. The fabric has pilled and is nasty looking. I cringed when I thought it might have touched my skin. The bottom sheet on the bed, which was not fitted, was tucked in at the top of the bed, but there was no sheet at the bottom for the last foot of the mattress. The two bathroom doors would NOT stay open -- they closed because they're not balanced, so we had to keep something in front of them to prop them open all the time. Photos of this unit were taken to show it off well, but we thought the furnishings were MINIMAL at best. The new appliances in the kitchen were wonderful, but the dishwasher was a piece of junk and so were the stackable washer/dryer. I had to re-wash everything once we got home because it smelled very bad. We would never recommend this unit to anyone. EVER. And the final problem -- ROACHES -- which we did not see until two nights before we left. A huge disappointment and not a bargain as advertised.

All issues have been addressed. The pictures on this site clearly represent this villa well. It is clean, modern, and has an amazing ocean view with two decks. The appliances are new and of great quality. We have a quarterly bug service that sprays. This villa is maintained by KI Golf Resort and they inspect all homes before every guest checks in. I've contacted her to let her know I could comp another stay or do what I can to address her concerns and had no response. I maintain a few villas/homes on the island and this one is quite possibly my favorite. Feel free to inquire with any questions. Thank you!
