Perfect for the family vacation or a romantic getaway for two, this secluded cedar log cabin is nestled in a picturesque valley among three wooded acres on the banks of the Nottely River, just outside of Murphy, North Carolina. The Great Smoky Mountains surround the area and provide spectacular views, as well as an abundance of outdoor activities.

Enjoy beautiful sunsets over the mountains from rocking chairs on the wrap-around porch or reading by the magnificent riverstone fireplace. As evening nears, drift off to the sound of whip-o-wills in the distance and the glow of fireflies illuminating the sky. In the mornings, awaken to the melody of geese circling the nearby lakes.

Quiet, restful, peaceful, perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We live in coastal Georgia and by August we've had it with hot, sticky weather - not to mention the complaints from our two dogs. We were looking for a quiet, cool, comfortable spot where we could relax on a porch, where our dogs could swim and run, and where all of us could just enjoy being outside. We found the perfect spot. Trent's home is perfectly located by a lovely steam and a lake where our two dogs were able to swim and chase balls. The "yard" was huge, and very private. There was only one house close by, but the yards were so large that we still had a lot of space and privacy.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and appreciated Trent allowing our two, well-behaved, but large dogs, to also enjoy the pleasures of being in such a lovely place. We hope to visit again in the near future.

Beautiful cabin inside, but no access to river!

  • 3 of 5

The cabin was very nice, but we could not see the river and it was not accessible due to a 10 ft cliff and rapid speed of water made it impossible to play or enjoy the river. A big disappointment since we rented it as being “on the river”! Not. We spent much time traveling to rivers to tube & swin. This property would be nice for someone who wants peace & quite to sit & think in the nice screened in porch. (Only 3 chairs) The two sets of twin fawns were nice to see in the yard with their mom. The “Ribs place” is great on 64W. đź‘Ť?

Relaxing, well equipped, wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

Trent was amazing- before, during, and after! Beforehand he answered every question I had about the property, inside and out, as well as the area. During our stay- the few brief questions I had he immediately responded to them to assist us settling in. After, one of my children accidentally packed something they should not have and Trent laughed, and shared an address to return it to. This home is very nicely stocked! Plenty of dishes, silverware, cookware (both for the stovetop and oven), cups (although if you have children you may wish to bring plastic cups or buy disposable as they are all glass that I saw). BEGINNING supply or toilet paper, laundry pods, soap, dishwasher pods, and paper towels. Indoor towels are provided, outdoor are not. The fire pit was lovely- and we were worried but did not experience ONE mosquito on the property!! The internet worked most of the time- but he was also upfront with us that sometimes it will glitch because you’re in the mountains- I also expected this so it was no problem. He has a plethora of board games to choose from as well as puzzles to keep you occupied should you choose to spend time hanging out at the house. Not to mention the LARGE backyard with plenty of space to play games outside too! If you’d like to venture around, there is plenty to do. Little ones may like to see the Hiawassee Dam, we rented a pontoon boat from Mountain View Marina and had a great day out on the lake, there is also a cute little sandy beach to swim at in Hiawassee, GA (we were also going to see the Hamilton Gardens). We drove up to Great Smoky Mountains National Park- it was about an hour and a half- VERY windy make sure if you get car sick you have Dramamine or Sea Bands. Some of our group went white water rafting as well and had a blast. We stayed with 12 people ages 3-60 and had plenty of room to enjoy each others’ company or spread out and enjoy some space. Coffee pot (drip), electric kettle, and a keurig at the coffee bar in the dining room. Blender and toaster, but no hand mixer (think mashed potatoes or cookies) and no crockpot, so we brought those on our own. Linens were included also. Not sure if the listing has been updated but the front porch has been recently screened in as well so even if there were mosquitos you could still enjoy!! There were so many amazing things about this home and I am so thoroughly happy with our choice of location for vacation. It was absolutely amazing. Also- walmart is 20 min into town.

Spring break

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was awesome! It has a huge yard that was great for the kids and our fur babies. We woke up to see deer grazing in the yard. Many hours were spent playing badminton. And the dog run was so convenient to keep the animals safe while we played. Inside the cabin was immaculately clean. It’s not often you find tv’s with satellite in almost all the rooms. The linens were upscale as fine as you would find in a plush hotel. I was also impressed with the amount of games and puzzles, and toys on hand. There is a full size washer and dryer which was very nice. The dining table was so huge you could easily fit a huge family for a gathering. We did puzzles on one half and still had plenty of room for our meals on the other side. Trent was so sweet and very accommodating to any needs that we had. I would highly recommend this cabin for your next getaway.

Relaxing,,comfortable and quiet!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay.Cabin is very comfortable in a quiet area!!Only 3 of us and our dog so more than enough room.HUGE dining room with a piano our son played for us.Caught several trout in the river out back with our dog helping of course .Never got a chance to use the fire pit outside as we got a bit of wet weather but we spent a lot of time out on the back deck with the breeze watching the hummingbirds, rabbits and fireflies in the evening. The location was perfect for exploring several of the local breweries and wineries.Overall the perfect spot for those that want to get away from it all!!
