Perfect for the family vacation or a romantic getaway for two, this secluded cedar log cabin is nestled in a picturesque valley among three wooded acres on the banks of the Nottely River, just outside of Murphy, North Carolina. The Great Smoky Mountains surround the area and provide spectacular views, as well as an abundance of outdoor activities.
Enjoy beautiful sunsets over the mountains from rocking chairs on the wrap-around porch or reading by the magnificent riverstone fireplace. As evening nears, drift off to the sound of whip-o-wills in the distance and the glow of fireflies illuminating the sky. In the mornings, awaken to the melody of geese circling the nearby lakes.
Newly renovated, the cabin offers spacious vaulted family and dining rooms, a sleeping loft, four bedrooms and two bathrooms, and is comfortably furnished. The wrap around deck offers great views of the spacious yard and the river.

This cabin was awesome! It has a huge yard that was great for the kids and our fur babies. We woke up to see deer grazing in the yard. Many hours were spent playing badminton. And the dog run was so convenient to keep the animals safe while we played. Inside the cabin was immaculately clean. It’s not often you find tv’s with satellite in almost all the rooms. The linens were upscale as fine as you would find in a plush hotel. I was also impressed with the amount of games and puzzles, and toys on hand. There is a full size washer and dryer which was very nice. The dining table was so huge you could easily fit a huge family for a gathering. We did puzzles on one half and still had plenty of room for our meals on the other side. Trent was so sweet and very accommodating to any needs that we had. I would highly recommend this cabin for your next getaway.
Relaxing,,comfortable and quiet!
We had a wonderful stay.Cabin is very comfortable in a quiet area!!Only 3 of us and our dog so more than enough room.HUGE dining room with a piano our son played for us.Caught several trout in the river out back with our dog helping of course .Never got a chance to use the fire pit outside as we got a bit of wet weather but we spent a lot of time out on the back deck with the breeze watching the hummingbirds, rabbits and fireflies in the evening. The location was perfect for exploring several of the local breweries and wineries.Overall the perfect spot for those that want to get away from it all!!
Amazing week in mountains.
Just spent a week with family. 7 of us loved the place. The pictures don't do the justice.
Beautiful house in a gorgeous setting
Six of us stayed for four days. Photos do not do justice to gorgeous yard and setting. So peaceful - listened to the birds in the morning, fished at the property's edge in the river (caught a striped bass and crappie), walked to the lake on a trail lined with blackberries, ate breakfast at the huge family table with antler candlesticks and overhead light fixtures. Kids caught fireflies and made smores in the fire pit. Played volleyball, frisbee and baseball in the yard. Cooked out on the grill. Just perfect. Will be back with more people next summer.
Our family stay at this cabin with another family was the perfect trip for all 4 adults and 4 kids. There was plenty of room in the cabin for two families, and we never felt crowded. We spent most of the time outside in the huge yard, down by the river, and around the campfire each night. It was very clean when we arrived, and the owner was responsive to emails and attentive to our questions. This is a quick trip if you live outside of Atlanta and definitely worth the beautiful drive through Blue Ridge. It's a must-do family vacation spot for anyone who wants the ultimate, peaceful and relaxing vacation.
Ditto to everything S. Bates wrote below. We've just returned from a two-week stay at the cabin where we especially enjoyed playing in (and smelling) the freshly-cut 7-plus acres of grass. The nighttime mist rolling in from the river and the thousands of fireflies rising up out of the grass is a sight you must see! Our children, grandchildren, & black lab swam every day in Harold Wells Lake only a two-minute walk away. (I do suggest checking daily the TVA release schedule for Nottely Lake --just to be sure you're not caught off guard if you're swimming in the Nottely River.)A perfect cabin for a perfect vacation makes the 11-hour drive from Naples, FL more than worth it!
