Enjoy the beautiful views from our gorgeous recently-built (2002) cabin home, 'in town' and just a short walk to either Grand Lake or Shadow Mountain Lake. Secluded enough to ensure plenty of peace and quiet, you won't find it unusual to see moose, elk, foxes, and other wildlife feeding on our wildflowers during the morning/evening.
Grand Lake is a quaint historic town that serves as the western 'less-crowded' entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park -- access to the park is a short 100-yard walk from our cabin! -- and provides an abundance of both summer & winter activities. Golfing, boating, swimming, fishing, water-skiing, jet-skiing, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, kayaking, hiking, horseback riding, along with the many restaurants, gifts shops, live theater, and social events in town make this an ideal summer vacation.
Our 2BR/2BA home can accommodate up to 5 adults, has been equipped with designer bedding & hand-selected furnishings to convey a 'contemporary rustic' feel. The master bedroom offers a queen bed w/ private bath, the 'kids' room offers a twin/full bunkbed with trundle, and there is a queen sleeper in the family room. For those who want to stay connected we have our own free wi-fi connection for you to enjoy fast and secure browsing and streaming.

About Joe & Casey Kigin
Originally from the East Coast, my husband Joe went to CU for graduate school when we were dating. We fell in love with Colorado and after visiting Grand Lake while he was here we knew we were destined to make Colorado our eventual home. We moved to CO in 1997, raised our kids (Son 24, Daughter 19, Daughter 17), who had the pleasure of being able to spend the summers & holidays of their childhood being "raised" up at Grand Lake, going to nearby YMCA Summer Camps and attending the Grand Lake Youth Theatre Workshops, and make Grand Lake the focus of our immediate and extended family get-togethers. Wherever life takes us we know that we will always come back to Grand Lake as our "Happy Place".
Joe & Casey Kigin purchased this House in 2003
Why Joe & Casey Kigin chose Grand Lake
As we started raising our family we would come up to Grand Lake several times a year & one time on a horseback ride that went above town we rode through a quiet neighborhood that had several new cabins that had great lake views and was walking distance to town. We fell in love with our cabin for the peace of mind of it being newly-built, having private unblocked views of Shadow Mountain Lake and of the Never Summer Range. Inside it provided the cozy feel we were looking for while being able to provide all of the modern amenities we felt we and our customers would enjoy in a home away from home. Being able to walk into town, up to the Grand Lake Lodge, down to the Lake(s), and being a short 2-min drive from the main entrance to Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park, as well as the many other opportunities provided in the area for summer/winter recreation only add to the appeal of providing a more enjoyable vacation than going to Summit County & Estes Park.

Excellent Cabin at a Great Location
Loved the cabin. It was perfect for our family of four (2 adults, 2 kids). The kids had their own bedroom with a bunk bed and access to their own bathroom, while the master bedroom with the attached full bathroom was very convinient. The cabin sits high on a hill so the views of the mountains, the town, and Grand Lake & Shadow Mountain Lake were incredible. All the amenities you need for a vacation stay and don't want to bring with you such as condiments in the fridge, laundry soap, towels, and kitchen pots/pans/utensils were all there. This was the first time we have stayed in Grand Lake in the winter and we had plenty to do. Skiing & tubing at the Nordic Center, ice fishing on the Lakes, fly fishing in the streams, snow shoeing in Rocky Mountain National Park (not all of the park roads are open in the Winter), hiking to frozen Adams Falls were some of the activities that were nearby and kept us busy. If you like to fish, Jim at Rocky Mountain Outfitters was very helpful. Not all of the town's shops and restaurants are open in the Winter but enough are to do some shopping, visiting, and eating out. The town main grocery store was around the corner from the cabin and was very convinient. Thank you for sharing your awesome cabin with our family.
It was amazing!!
Very clean and awesome view!!
Great property and location! Only thing I wished was there were more things to do. Shops in town closed super early, before 7 so a lot of time if we needed something, we were not able to get it.
Also, the highway that takes you from grand lake across to Estes Park, which was where we wanted to visit was closed!
Besides the mishaps of things out of our control, our stay at kigins cabin was great! Very cozy and clean cabin and would stay again if we are looking for a relaxed vacation.
Time to Re-Charge
Spent 4 days at the Cabin. It was incredible. Such a wonderful place to relax & enjoy Grand Lake. The view is amazing & we will be back!!!
Had a great time in Grand Lake.
We had an excellent time in Grand Lake and the Cabin served us beautifully. Great views and walkable to town.
