About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-7)

Enjoy the beautiful views from our gorgeous recently-built (2002) cabin home, 'in town' and just a short walk to either Grand Lake or Shadow Mountain Lake. Secluded enough to ensure plenty of peace and quiet, you won't find it unusual to see moose, elk, foxes, and other wildlife feeding on our wildflowers during the morning/evening.

Grand Lake is a quaint historic town that serves as the western 'less-crowded' entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park -- access to the park is a short 100-yard walk from our cabin! -- and provides an abundance of both summer & winter activities. Golfing, boating, swimming, fishing, water-skiing, jet-skiing, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, kayaking, hiking, horseback riding, along with the many restaurants, gifts shops, live theater, and social events in town make this an ideal summer vacation.

Our 2BR/2BA home can accommodate up to 5 adults, has been equipped with designer bedding & hand-selected furnishings to convey a 'contemporary rustic' feel. The master bedroom offers a queen bed w/ private bath, the 'kids' room offers a twin/full bunkbed with trundle, and there is a queen sleeper in the family room.

I loved my stay in the mountains!!!

VRBO Bear stayed here

If you love the beauty of the mountains, breath taking views, a clean cozy cabin and seeing wild life up close and personal then you’ll love this cabin in the mountains. To my surprise, upon entering the beautiful town of Grand Lake, there on the side of the road was a huge Bull Moose with antlers bigger then I have ever seen. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience. Where else, other then Grand Lake, could I have seen a moose on the side of the road? What a lucky bear I am. If that wasn’t good enough to make the whole trip worth it I stepped into the cabin and was pleasantly surprised. The pictures I had seen did not do it justice. This clean cozy cabin had a full kitchen, living area, beautiful views, and relaxing atmosphere which made me feel at home right away. I could not wait to sit my paws down and relax in front of the fireplace. Within walking distance to Shadow Mountain Lake, Grand Lake and downtown Grand Lake there was so much to do. There were also some wonderful restaurants to eat at, such as Sagebrush (barbecue), Pancho and Lefty's (mexican), and Chuck Hole for breakfast. Oh where these little legs can go. I definitely had a Grand time while staying in Grand Lake and will come back to visit the area again. Signed, VRBO Bear

Like a Tree House

  • 5 of 5

This neat little cabin is constructed right on the side of the mountain. The sides with the great views face the drop-off, giving this residence a neat "tree house" feel. We were just a few minutes to town and several excellent trailheads, and yet had a nice feeling of privacy while in Joe's cabin. The Grand Lake Lodge is just up the road for good measure, but if they don't offer window seating, order take-out and enjoy dinner & a sunset on your private deck! We would definitely revisit this property....

Great House!

  • 5 of 5

My family of four had a great time while staying in this house. It felt like a home away from home. We hiked, rented a pedal boat in town, played putt-putt, enjoyed the cute town of Grand Lake and did lots of relaxing. Just what our family needs once a year!!

Best vacation ever!!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved the cabin. Views were so beautiful. Joe was so helpful suggesting trails and restaurants. He was also very understanding when I "accidentally" unplugged the internet router😬? Hoping to go again next summer!!

Beautiful Cabin with Great Views of the Mountains and Shadow Mountain Lake

  • 5 of 5

Joe and Casey have a wonderful cabin located on a hillside which gives you a picture perfect view of the mountains and Shadow Mountain Lake. The cabin is well appointed, clean, and comfortable. Even the hide-a-bed was very comfortable (no bars in your back). Water got hot quickly, water pressure was substantial, and all appliances were in working order. Located just outside the western entrance to RMNP and walking distance from Grand Lake (although the hill back to the cabin is pretty steep) this is a great home base for all the outdoor activities the area has the offer.

Cozy location with beautiful view

  • 5 of 5

This little house was a perfect place to stay on our trip to RMNP. Right after entering the house for the first time, we knew we had made a good choice. The first impression is a good one! Plenty of space for me, my wife, and our two young children. The deck has a great view of the lake and Mountains. Hummingbird feeder guarantees some close encounters! House is in a quiet, slightly off the beaten path location which is nice. All in all, we loved our stay and would recommend to anyone!

Lovely Views! Hummingbirds everywhere!

  • 4 of 5

This house was great for our trip! The view off the deck was wonderful, and the house was nice, well furnished and arranged! We refilled the hummingbird feeders and watched them day and night! We spent 4 nights with our 15 month old, and the house was well equipped for us, (except we ran out of toilet paper). It is out of town up a hill, so you have to drive into town, but it was less than 2 minutes away! Lots of great hiking in the area, nice little sleepy town. The only thing I would change is the linens (sheets and mattress pads) and pillows, time for new ones!! Also be aware you have to wash and dry everything before you leave, linens, towels etc. We had to make a specific plan to shower so we could wash everything before checkout time!
