Great house!!!!

  • 4 of 5

I have many, many great things to say about this cabin. We had a group of 6 adults, a 3 year old, and a 7 month old. The house was updated, very clean inside, had the perfect amount of space for our needs, and the kitchen was well-stocked. Being right on the river was lovely and the grass had all been mowed before we got there. There were two fire pit areas that were great (one by the house and one right on the river). Perfect distance to the mountains, town, and river activities. It was great that there were some toys and books left in the living room for my two young children!! And even better there were some birds that had nested around the house. I miss waking up and sitting on the deck or the bench by the river with my cup of coffee!

I did not give this location 5 stars because we experienced lots of spiders (I know..I know...we're in the woods). Maybe the deck and around the house had been cleaned of spider webs before we arrived, but it did not seem to have been. I didn't expect to be bug free, but there were a lot of BIG ones hanging right outside all the doors and windows (luckily only two harmless daddy long legs in the house). We couldn't find a broom to wipe away the webs outside, so we bought one and left one for the next guests. Once we removed the webs, there were fewer, but they were still around. Add to that there were wasp nests above the sliding glass doors, which is probably a bit more serious of an issue. The other issue was the grill could use to be replaced, but it works.

I would definitely recommend this place and will book this place for future trips!!!! Just wipe down the house of all the webs when you arrive if they haven't been already!

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with Allstar Lodging. We have contacted our pest control company to do a more thorough job, but as you stated, there will be bugs in the woods. We have also made sure a broom is available for future guests. Thank you and we hope to accommodate you on your next visit.

My wife and I and our two...

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I and our two dogs stayed here and had the best time. The cabin was great, right on the river. The dogs had a great time also. The cabin was close enough to stores and yet far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet.
