About this space
This vintage horse trailer was reimagined into a Tiny house by Lane and Laurie as a couples project in 2018 which they completely gutted and remodeled using beautiful natural materials like wood, old fashioned wood cabinetry, handmade ceramic tiles and woven bamboo. Bluebird Tiny House is tucked into a secluded forest meadow, named for the bluebirds that spend part of the year there and there are miles of private trails to enjoy.
The space
It is a spacious 320 sq ft and is loaded with rich textiles and modern fixtures that make it feel much larger. The spa-inspired bathroom features a hand-carved, wood vessel sink, eco-dual flush toilet, rain shower, and free-standing ceramic soaking tub with oak canopy view. The 40’ long deck spans the length of the secluded tiny house overlooking the forest to distant mountains and has alfresco dining area and plenty of furniture for cozying as well as hot tub sited for star gazing and firepit seating. It is extremely private and has all the luxuries of home. Dog owners welcome! We have a large fenced yard adjoining the deck to welcome your fur babies, while keeping them close by.

Bluebird Tiny is one of 3 unique artisanal accommodations located on Birdsong BackCountry Retreat. It offers guests the opportunity to really get away from it all in a untouched forest and chaparral setting but offers all the amenities one needs for a comfortable stay. In addition, we have developed 2 forest therapy trails that will bring your ability to slow down and connect to nature to a whole new level and encourage you to try it using our MP3 audio guide..

Incredible Vacation Rental!

This is our second time staying at Laurie and Lane's beautiful Bluebird tiny house, and both times have been incredible. It's not just that the tiny house is adorable and comfortable with every amenity you could want (bathtub, hot tub, hammock, outdoor games, grill, fire pit), but the property itself is pure magic. Aside from the beautiful trails on Laurie and Lane's property, there's also an awesome meditation center up the road with huge Buddha statues and tons of other hiking trails within a short drive. Don't miss the weekend beer spot Garage 79 at the foot of Chihuahua Valley Road! This is absolutely one of the best vacation rentals we've ever stayed in and the hosts are wonderful. If you're on the fence, do it. You won't be disappointed!

Lane and I are from San Diego and we have lived in it's beautiful backcountry for the last 40 years and love sharing it with people. We are artisans and builders and creating Birdsong Retreat where people can connect to nature, walk/hike miles of private trails and be able to bring their dogs has been a dream and priviliage for which we are very grateful.

Why they chose this property

We love the remoteness but easy accessibility from San Diego and LA where most of our guests come from to get away from the city. Our quaint wineries, proximity to Pacific Crest and California Hiking and Riding Trails, ancient oaks, down to earth residents and lack of development make Warner Springs an awesome place to live or visit.

What makes this property unique

We have over 85 acres which include over 200 ancient oaks, 3.5 miles of private hiking trails, large expanses of open space filled with aromatic sage, a huge swath of giant boulders going thru center of property and some jaw dropping vistas can be seen on our trails. We have designed it so each cabin is very private and each one has its own large fenced yard and deck.
