Summer time is here! Visit Truckee Thursday in old town & visit crafter and vendors. Blues Tuesdays at Palisades Village music, drink, and food avail. admission free.. Take the children through the educational Donner Party museum at Donner Lake. Hike or Bike the trails or take a dip from small beach at Donner lake.. Boat, board rentals plus at lake.

Cozy getaway spot

Location was perfect for a little quick getaway. Close to skiing. Beautiful views. Perfect yard area for playing in the snow. Loved the downstairs living room. Would love to come back here again.

Winter getaway

You'd have to be a grinch not to love Bailey's Place. Spacious, clean, really comfy beds, sparkling river right outside. Close to Sugar Bowl, easy walk to cross-country skiing and sledding right outside the house. Very kid friendly with high chair, sleds, toys. Appreciate the chess set too!

Lovely property!

We had a wonderful stay this property. It was easy to access and to communicate with the owner. It was very clean and well stocked with general necessities. It is in a nice neighborhood and we were able to go for walks in the area and play in the snow right on the property. There is a river right behind the property that was flowing and beautiful. Highly recommend!

Lovely

It was great. Our only notes are that it wasn't clear at first how to turn on the water valve and the heat (the info is buried in the binder on the coffee table), but our host was very responsive. Also the vegetable peelers need to be replaced. Overall, we had a great time.

A lovely mountain retreat!

The property was lovely (it is in the mountains so the ground is uneven and the river is close so keep an eye on your doggos and small humans). The house is stunning and has all the ammenities you could possibly need (they even had a cheese grater!). The neighborhood is cute and quiet. We will absolutely book again!

Cozy place close to Sugar Bowl

This was our second time staying here and enjoyed it as much as the first time. Cozy home with all of the amenities. 10 min drive to sugar bowl which was super convenient. Just make sure you have AWD/4WD or chains to get out of the driveway if it snows.

Wonderful cozy home

Lovely and cozy home with good proximity to Sugar Bowl. We’ll stay again! The only piece of caution is that the driveway is pretty steep, so if it’s snowy or icy you should have 4WD or chains on your tires.

Perfect for our family wedding

This was a very comfortable place to spend a few days in a beautiful setting. Weather was warmer than expected, but the house had numerous fans and the temperature dropped quickly at sunset. My wife and I, along with our four adult children and two young grandchildren were all relaxed and happy. Our niece’s wedding was close by, so the location could not have been better. Our host was very quick to reply to any questions.

Cozy Cabin!

We live in the neighborhood and needed some extra space for friends to sleep. The house is extremely clean and cozy. I highly recommend renting this cabin.

Great stay

We had a great stay, house was conveniently located and easy to find. Host had provided everything we needed, clean, and accurate to listing. Only con was it was very hot in the house the first night since all the windows were closed with the hot air inside and by the time we got checked in, it never had time to cool down with the provided fans. The 2nd night was much better, just something to be aware of without ac.

July 2023 Trip

We were super lucky to find this great gem available for a short notice booking in July! It lived up to everything in the writeup, and more. Easy to get to, accessible to Hwy 80 for groceries/restaurants/lakes/hiking and more. The host was accessible for questions, and very gracious when we had a last minute shift in dates. We stayed during a heat wave and there were window coverings and fans galore to help keep it cool. This house deserves a 5 Star rating: Clean, Well Stocked, everything works, and Beautiful! Thank you!

Chalet in the Woods

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. When we arrived, the freezer in the refrigerator was not working, but the property manager arranged for a repairman to fix the problem, even though it was the 4th of July! The lower level offered a separate area for the kids to watch movies. The deck was a comfortable spot for reading and conversation in the mornings and evenings. The neighborhood was quiet. There was a path to the creek nearby where the kids played in the water. There were lots of stairs, and that was somewhat of a challenge for the grandparent generation. All in all, it was a good place for a family gathering.

Cozy clean cabin

Great stay with a family of 4 and 3. Very comfortable beds and clean. Kitchen had everything we needed and more. Lots of room for kids to play. Host was very responsive. Loved the views of the river in the snow. Was a pleasure staying here and would love to come back next year.

A Hidden Gem!

This is a fantastic place with incredibly comfortable spaces, beautiful views and great access to skiing. The Plavada neighborhood has fantastic access to Sugarbowl and Truckee, and this cabin is right near the creek that runs through here. The cabin itself has everything you need, plenty of gear in the kitchen, and lots of space for hanging out. Would gladly stay here again!

Luminous and spacious

We have a small family gathering to enjoy ski. The place is very spacious and near a river that just the view was very pleasant. I enjoy cooking for my grown-up children and the kitchen has every thing I need it.

Fantastic Weekend Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bailey's Place. For a family of five with three teenage kids plus a fur baby this home was perfect. The Pros: Home was very clean, neat and organized. Welcome book was very helpful with the basics on how to's. The layout is great for everyone to either be together or have privacy. The kids loved having a room all to themselves with big comfy beds. The space heaters in all the bedrooms and bathrooms were a definite plus as well. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of cookware, dishes, and cups. The only thing that I couldn't find was a vegetable peeler, and/or plastic wrap and foil. The family room with the gas fireplace made for such a warm cozy and welcoming home. I loved it! The balcony was perfect for our fur baby to be safe and enjoy the outdoors as well. The Con: When I had messaged the owners about the snow (plowing) conditions, I didn't really get an answer. Due to the amount of snow this year, and arriving at the tail end of a storm there was snow on the ground. Upon arrival, the house seemed to be located on a narrow street with a narrow inclined driveway. We had an all terrain vehicle, but were also towing a small trailer. After a few tries and fancy maneuvering we were finally able to get down the drive way. Only to realize that once we made it down, we were stuck, and couldn't get back out. Thankfully, we were able to get out the next day. Overall, Bailey's Place was great, and we hope to be back again. Thank you.

Great house for our ski weekend at Sugar Bowl

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. It was the perfect place for us and our friends and our kids. The kids hung out downstairs in the 2nd living room while the adults were able to have the main floor to ourselves. Even the seemingly odd placement of the full size bed at the top of the stairs was great! Our young kids slept there and could find us in the middle of the night if they had a nightmare. I will definitely love to come back for our next ski trip! It is just a short drive to Sugar Bowl.

Amazing!

We have been coming to the Truckee/Soda Springs area for years and this was by far our best experience. The owners were so helpful and accommodating. The house was beautifully maintained, organized and so charming. We are looking forward to coming back again.

Phil - owner: Resides in Walnut Creek, CA. and is a native Californian. I started coming to the sierra's as a young teen ager going on camping/fishing trips with my neighbors. Their son and I a still friends today except we are not exploring like we did a skids.
I invested in Bailey's Place to enjoy time with my family and for them to have a place to go to. The eldest daughter is estill skiing and loves Soda Springs slopes.

After owning a condo in Truckee’s Tahoe Donner neighborhood, I wanted more of the Sierra’s charm. Chose Pla Vada and Bailey’s Place for location, near skiing for the family, and summit history.
This area’s neighbors are friendly and often offering their help if needed.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

Bailey’s Place is on a spacious lot having the seasonal Yuba river flowing along the rear of the property. The home is approximately 2000 feet with three floors. First floor has family room w/ a twin bed, TV, games, etc. Good place for the kids.
