We arrived in the area on Wednesday, April 8th. The day before my husband’s birthday. We were contacted numerous times to ask our eta because the cleaner was still there. We arrived at 3:13pm for a 3:00pm check in only to find an absolutely disgusting cabin with sheets that weren’t clean, toilets with feces, expired condiments in a dirty fridge (like 2023), dirty silverware and plates, dust so thick on the couch that you could write your name with your finger. I informed the property manager and was told that the cleaner could return. She did and she tried to do the best that she could for a “maintenance clean”. This cabin was far from needing a maintenance clean, it needed a weeks long deep clean. Dust was floating in the air. We spent our first day waiting for the cleaner to finish cleaning enough so that we could stay. We went to Walmart on day 1 to get sheets, blankets, paper plates, paper towels and silverware. The description also included a bottle of wine which wasn’t there. When I mentioned that, I was told that the cleaner would bring a bottle back when she returned to clean. No fault of the cleaner, but she did what she was instructed to do and the cheapest bottle was purchased. My daughter came to surprise us and brought her dog which I didn’t book expecting a pet there. When I received the pet fee today, it was promptly paid. I did ask to stay an extra day since they didn’t offer any compensation for the inconvenience. They obliged.
